  • 2009 Liberty Intermittent issues with starting

I have a 2009 Jeep Liberty which I've owned since 3/10 and I love it! But, in the past 2 years I've had intermittent issues with it not starting, not cranking, not even turning over. I've replaced the starter twice, replaced the battery with a Sears Die Hard and had it towed to the dealership (Earnhardt Jeep in Mesa, AZ and Carmax in Gilbert, AZ) 6 times only to be told, ... I have a 2009 Liberty with skyslider roof. I test drove a sport without one then they orderd one in. Excessive wind noise, gapping, and sounds like it's going to come apart at highway speeds on a rainy nday. I have had it into the dealership 9 times, and 25 days without my vehicle to dsrive. It started to come apart on me on the highwway a few weeks ago so ... Read More

Everything I am hearing is leading to a recall, from online people been stating some dealers have already replaced their regulators even if not under warranty. In my case I have 2 already documented with Jeep replacement, and they did something another time right after fixing one that is not in the service system. Now I have another one failing, well actually failed 08/20/10 and I am being told by Jeep ... Read More

Jeep Liberty Oil light coming on

I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty 4X4, 3.7 liter engine. The oil light will come on when initially started after sitting for awhile. However, if the engine is cut off and re-started the oil light does not come on again. The oil is changed every 3,000 miles since purchasing the vehicle in February 2009. Any solutions to this little mystery. Thank you,

RUN don't walk as far from the dealer as you possibly can except to purchase your new window and regulator. I just picked up my window and regulator at the dealer except this time it came with a sticker for 58cents to put on the window telling anyone who was repairing the door that the window was not the 2006 window and it refered them to a Mopar bulletin # 68058661AA. ... Now that is the kind of recycling I can really get into. I found out that the 2006 Liberty's have a service note on how to clean these dirt-magnet seat covers. Wash with warn water only power vac. I had my fuel filter changed at the dealer two weeks ago. When I go the Jeep back it now sputters around 1400 RPM, more-so when warming up after it has been driven to operational temperature and then turned off for a while. I took it back the following Wednesday to have them fix it. What they told me is that I have to replace the filter housing under a TSB ... Read More

Yeah she had a 99 cherokee classic. (which she loved) And obviously felt the same way you do about the new Liberty. To answer your question I was told it was total miles on the vehicle. She now has a little over 4,000 on it and it corrected itself before the 4500 mark. I was told the flash needs a little bit to see how you drive the vehicle to know ... Read More

I picked the Jeep up this morning and the dealer said they can not do anything unless there is an error code or something obvious the Chryster would approve for warranty work. They said ... Oh, also you should probably have them, if they don't already, contact Chrysler on the issue and nip it in the butt ASAP! I would tell them you are aware of the issue and don't want a lot of the dealership guessing and replacing unnecessary parts in an attempt to address the issue. I would certainly hope that by now Chrysler will know what to do.

On the interstate it does hesitate and jump between gears like you said, I would like to hear someone who might know what is going on? Looks like a trip to the dealer this weekend!

This Liberty does not have a sunroof or skyslider. What is the realistic mileage I can expect with a manual transmission? The axle ratio is 3.21 on a manual vs 3.73 on an automatic. When the 2009 Jeep Wranglers are released, the 07 models will be considered "old," but the thing is, Jeep dealers will still have BRAND NEW 07 models sitting on their lot. But they will want to get rid of them, so they will have HUGE price cuts. Although there will be good deals, they will go fast. So hurry up when you see sales. Also, tonight ... Read More

Future parts: Manufacturers are required to stock replacement parts for I think 9 years after a model is discontinued. I owned a Merkur XR4ti (loved it) and had no trouble getting parts for it. I bought it new in 1986 and sold it in 1994. Rarely is it engine stuff that ... Read More
