I have the same exact problem. Every time it's wet, it doesn't fire or doesn't get gas, not sure which, but I suspect it's not firing as I don't hear it trying. As soon as it's dry, no problem, fires right up. Now, this is with the hood shut, no leaks in the seal, so it's not "flooding" with water, nor is it after it's driven, when you drive in the ... The stock compression spec on the 3 cylinder Metro is 195 psi. The MINIMUM factory limit is 165 psi. When the highest 2 cylinders have 120 psi and the remaining cylinder has 60 psi and the engine consumes a quart of oil every 75 miles and shoots vapor out the plug opening when cranked; this is not caused by burned valves. That oil is either coming from a broken piston, stuck ... Read More

    Written by: zaken1 on Mar 23, 2011 12:20:56 AM

Beginning in 1996; the 1.0 liter Metro was equipped with a crankshaft position sensor. This non adjustable device sends an electronic timing signal to the ignition system to control the ignition timing. So in this model, there is no way to adjust the timing. However, the distributor position is still adjustable; but moving the distributor will not change the timing; it will only change the rotor indexing. The tip of the ... Read More

Save your money on the SeaFoam- it will make it worse, and it is only kerosene with some detergent in it. The oil is coming in to the air filter housing through your PCV valve, probably due to worn rings. It is also possible that it is worn valve guides. Or both.
