I purchased a brand new 2008 Pacifica Touring WP Chrysler Signature Series in March 2009. It sat on the dealer's lot since it was manufactured in October 2007. It only has 33,000 miles on it today and is still under the original 3/36 warranty, probably one of the last Pacifica's still under the original 3/36 warranty. The 2008 model year has a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty for the original owner. If you ... Read More

We have had it looked at when under warranty and said there was no problem jus a noise it made when shifting. Then as soon as out warranty was up within 500 miles it quit shifting into reverse, and stating need a new transmission. We bout ... Read More
Heeeyyy Brooks (Steelydan), I can't believe you are still here, after all these years ! I didn't click on this discussion group since 2008, when I got rid of our Crapacifica. I lost it when the transmission blew in pieces when climbing on our driveway (fixed under warranty). Fortunately I found a dealer ... Read More
My wife started this thread, and the last response I could see that she posted was in June of 2008. At that time we were having the engine pulled for the third time (this is the second engine). She went ... Read More
I wouldn't buy a Pacifica any older than 2007. You definitely want the 4.0L and 6-Speed Transmission. This is the same package in the current Town & Country. 2007 was the first year for both which might account for the 'tricky' issues. I would hope they would have been worked out during the warranty period. I have a 2008 Touring WP Chrysler Signature Series and love it. The mileage computer regularly ... Read More
I have a 2008 Pacifica Touring Signature Series with 8000 mi. The car obviously has not been driven much in 2 years and most driving was highway, but when braking now there is a shimmy in the steering wheel. My 2004 FWD Pacifica ( original owner) slowly developed the familiar front end clunking issues from about 45,000 miles onward. I originally took it in to a local Chrysler dealer , who diagnosed the tie rod linkages were bad and the whole rack and pinion system was bad. I only had the front brake pads replaced at the dealership and nothing else. I went to an independent garage recommended to me ... Read More

I am happy to have the 4.0 Liter, 6-speed combo in the 2008 Pacifica. These are still production products in Chrysler's present line. I am also happy to have the lifetime powertrain warranty. I would not own anything other than an '07 or '08 Pacifica with this powertrain combo and the lifetime warranty. Everyone else, good luck!

I am Sooo glad I got rid of my 2005 Pacifica 3.5 as the engine oil consumption was 1 qt of Mobil 1 per 1000 miles, and this is completely unacceptable for a modern, well made engine. $29,000 sounds close for a $39,000 MSRP. You could probably do better, but it sounds like a good place to begin haggling. If the car sits on the lot much longer (and it may), then the price should drop accordingly. It seems like a buyer's market these days, and could be for some time. If you keep the car 7 years, then the steep depreciation shouldn't matter. The steep part of ... Read More
