Used 2004 Volvo S80 2.5T AWD 4dr Sedan (2.5L 5cyl Turbo 5A) Consumer Reviews
S80 2.5 T
I have already driven it 10,000 miles and have really enjoyed the experience. The people in the back seat have as great experience as those in the front.
S80 AWD
AWD is impressive in untreated snow- covered roads (3"). Able to stop, start, and climb hill without difficulty. Bi-Xenon headlamps are a must for rainy night-time driving. Speed sensitive steering makes parking a breeze. I looked at BMW 5; Lexus ES330 and Audi 6. I feel I made the best choice for price, comfort and convenience items. My passengers are impressed with the comfort (back seat has leg room!) Gas mileage has been 19.4 for many short stops; 27 for highway driving. It's a pleasure to drive with the comfort and engine power.

20 years old, owned for 10
2 owner car, I am the 2nd. Yes repairs are expensive. I have replaced the suspension (front and back), the wheel bearings (front and back), the exhaust (which my mechanic made, because it costs more to buy than to make), and the brakes (front and back). The other side of the coin is, I live in Iowa. The last blizzard we had, I drove 35 miles on back roads to get home because the interstate was closed. I drove past pick-up trucks stuck in drifts. I made it home without worry because of the weather package in my car. It idles down to 700 rpm within 30 seconds even at -20. The brakes on this specific model are very powerful for the size of the car. If you hit the breaks at 35 it will stop before that light you thought you’d catch, anything not bolted downed will be on the floor, but it will stop. The rear headrests fold down at the push of a button giving full view through the rear window, given no one is sitting back there. It’s also fun to push the button to smack someone in the back of the head when they mouth off. The specs say it does an average of 21 mpg, mine gets that in town and up to 32 mpg on the highway. As with all cars, it depends on how you drive it. Also, cruise sets at 20. Set it and can forget it. Beware, it shifts at 35. If that is the limit where you live it will effect your gearbox.
Amazed
Had this car for 30,000 mile. never a problem. Great on ice and snow. Absolutely reliable. Amazing MPG ( 31 on the highway at 75 MPH and 23 in the city)...checked many times. Does everything you would want in a car. Great acceleration (despite what they say)
I've Never Hated A Car Quicker!
I have never hated a car quicker. Within the first 100 km the exterior chrome molding has started to come off. Within 200 km the gas pedal does not function properly, one must depress it a full inch before there is any response. This is most annoying, and the dealer tells us that nothing can be done about it, that its just the way Volvo makes them. For the cost, I am exceptionally disappointed in this car. It now has less than 2000 km on it and we are about to trade it in on an Audi. Remember its really no longer a Volvo, its an expensive Ford.
