VERY Good little car ...
Needed a car in 2018 and at that time, VW was "giving them away" because at the same time, the "new" bigger Tiguan was first being sold. Long story short, everybody in the family loves this car. Well built, FAST, fun to drive ... just enough cargo carrying capacity to make it practical. I guess the fact my daughter is now looking for certified used one "just like yours" ... Son when back visiting from his now home State ... "can I use the VW ?" Tribute enough.

The little SUV that can
Bought mine in 2017 and now have just under 30k miles on it. Wonderful car that is extremely practical and fun to drive. These late model PQ35 Tiguans are really solid cars- VW had all the bugs worked out of this 2nd gen chassis version by this model year. Has plenty of power, decent gas mileage (23 mpg around town and 30 mpg hwy), transmission shifts smooth. Drives extremely well in snow (especially with Nokian tires). Rear seat room is very good for a car this size (fits my large teenage sons no problem) and it's super easy to fold the rear seats flat. Best feature is the front passenger seat that folds forward flat- this allows you to carry some impressive cargo. I have carried five interior house doors (30"x 80") in this car, carried 68 8ft long deck boards and all kinds of lumber/building materials. There is no other car in this size category that can do that. Overall a very practical car that is sized just right, fun to drive, very solid feeling, and performs very well in poor weather. My only complaint is I wish the cloth seats were less prone to staining and I wish it had LED headlights. If you can find a used low mileage one with a Premium Package buy it.

Fun to drive
Great car, we own luxury cars and this one rides and handles as well. Only problem is passing on highway, blind spot have to turn head to look as well as squat down to look through side mirror, to make sure you can enter other lane. Handles fine once you know how to look.

OBVIOUSLY
The reason to buy this suv is the 72,000 mile warranty. Not much else. It is small , tastefully , albeit conservatively styled. It has the same engine as the GTI , but because it's overweight , it strains like a pig running uphill and sounds like it. It suffers from that , plus the gas mileage is crap. It should tow about 1,500 lbs , but more than your neighbor's riding lawn mower , and maybe his ex wife on it...it won't look good doin' it. Personally , the whole " mine's bigger than yours " contest millions of guys buy into every year , I find hilarious. With AWD , I can go MILDLY off road and camping , or get to a trail for hiking on a partially rocky dirt road without crying over what I spent. Blue is good looking , and like the 22 year old at the bank said to my surprise smiling with a wink , IT MATCHES YOUR EYES. So there you have it. I can get a CERTIFIED 18' OR 19 with what's left of the 72,000 mile warranty , and it adds an extra 12 months. " You don't gotta be no rocket surgeon to figure that out ", as the kid at the gas station put it.
