Booboo's Cool Ride
This is the best car I have ever owned! Great comfort, excellent fuel mileage and all around fun to drive! This car made for an outstanding 10yr. anniversary gift...husbands do get it right sometimes!!! :-)
love the new beetle
This is one cute little car. The GLS has more bells and whistles than are necessary (including a bud vase) the 2 litre engine is nice even with the automatic tranny. well built. only flaw was first day of driving, the emissions control light came on and stayed on. the bug was back in the shop for three full days for diagnosis (dead emissions control computer) and fix. kind of put a damper on the new car experience, but just a little bit of driving cured that. power-assisted rack&pinion (easy, but with good road feel) and stops just right with ABS on disc brakes (all wheels). great turning radius, and it's fun!

Wow! Having driven Japanese econo boxes for the last 7 years, I am quite impressed with the Bug 1.8T. I was on a shake down cruise to Reno and paced an Audi A4 all the way over the mountains on I80. It seemed that this car was not going to unwind or unstick from the road!
My Dream Car!!!
I love my bug!!! I have wanted one for years and have enjoyed every second of driving and owning it. The dealership has been great about fixing anything in a short time with no appointments. It is so fun to drive, handles great especially steering into turns. I traded in a minivan so this is a dream to drive.
Do Your Homework
The Beetle "burns an acceptable" 1 quart of oil a month. Had rings replaced at 30000 miles. I just traded it in on a Toyota at 35000 because in 1 month it went through a quart of oil. We were told that that is common and acceptable for the VW Beetle. That its the way it was designed. Stay away from this vehicle!
DO NOT BUY
I have a white 2002 VW beetle. Do not buy this car, Everything has failed on it, constant check engine lights and airbag light still hasn't gone off, and the entire computer is bugged, had to buy and replace. Bought for $3,000 and in two years I managed to purchase this car 2 times over in the price of repairs. When cold weather hits car wont start (plug it into a battery thing overnight to keep the car warm to help it start) Also due to the way VW bugs work you cant just switch out parts as they read each other and wont run unless it is an exact match. Windows both failed two times each. Electronic issues still ongoing. These cars are a money pit. No wonder they've been discontinued. On top of that they have a seal issue which causes all windows to fog up frequently. In rain... keep windows down to prevent fogging up, means drenching the car doors. Same in cold weather, you can turn heat on to defrost, boom you get fogged out and have to open windows in the snow a bit to help you see. Also when it rains water gets in through some unknown source and drips down under passenger side where feet go. The upside... its got a sunroof... don't leave it open in the rain though heats up quick/ ac runs good. good in snow with snow tires stereo is very Bass driven even with it in the negative setting. good maneuverability great on gas in vehicle details I clicked random things (FYI)
2 bug household
This is the most wonderful car I have ever owned. My husband liked mine so much he got one too.
Forever in Love or a Great Fit
I love my new Beetle, I bought one previously in 1973, I had it for fourteen years. When the new Beetle came out I was floored. I was totally, decidedly, definetely in love again. I drive about three hours a day both ways, I'm comfortable. Setting the seat to fit is extremely easy, it still fits me perfectly. The front window is wide, and my other half, who is 6'2", drives it and he's able to set the seat to fit him width and leg length, he had to admit, it had more room then he imagined. The seats are awesome comfortable especially with the built in lumbar back. I'd recommend the new Beetle to any and everyone, thanks for a great ride.
Beetle Turbo
Third Beetle I've owned, and all have been superb vehicles. All were bought brand new, and kept trading up. Have had this current Silver Turbo model for 8 years and have never had any serious problems with it. It is used over the last 4 years as a daily driver and between its traction in the winter and its speed/pickup in the summer, the vehicle is probably one of the best ones out there for the dollar. Maintenance is done on the vehicle per specs, and outside of a couple of door dings by jerks in parking lots, the car looks and runs as new. Probably the best value for the dollar car we've ever bought and owned.
I love my bug.
This turbo diesel does have some get up and go while getting awesome mileage. It's fun to drive & as small as the car is, I somehow feel safe inside it. I will buy another Bug. I just hope they keep making the TDI.
