A Seniors toy!
Love everything about it except the only rear seat passengers would have to be small people or double amputees.

Most Unreliable Car We Have Owned-ever!
This car, though a blast when it is running, has spent more time in the shop than any car we have ever owned. We have owned Honda Ridegeline, Toyota Rav 4, Nissan Pathfinder, and Honda Accord. This Volkswagen has spent more time in the shop in 45,000 miles than all of the other cars combined, and each of those were traded in around 100,000 miles. This car was supposed to be my wife's dream car, but it has turned into our worst nightmare. We have just been extremely frustrated with such an expensive car. After having to have the engine rebuilt at around 50,000 miles and being charged for parts that had just been replaced the year before, we gave up the car and bought what we should have bought in the first place, a Toyota. We are 20, 000 miles into the Toyota, and not a single problem. We lost a lot of money on the Eos, but we are glad it is gone!

Still smiling......
Wanted a convertible. Had shopped these earlier but ended up testing other soft tops. A few months passed and I was able to get an excellent year-end deal. I've had the car 8 months and 5K miles. No issues. Blast to drive and the size is great for my needs. Still don't see that many around and I like that. I didn't know anyone that had one, so had to rely on owner input to decide to buy one. That's what I am hoping this will do for those who are shopping. I'm very happy with the car and hope to keep it for a long while. My insurance co. offers a great extended warranty so I'm covered for 7 years, 100,000 miles.
Thumbs Up my Friends!
Reliable! Comfortable! Fun! Sexy! Well, its so far far the perfect car !!! Please continue VW! My first VW!
More Issues than a Magazine stand
I bought this car because I wanted a hardtop convertible, loved the looks of it and interior comfort level, but most importantly I wanted a reliable car in which I wouldn't have to perform much more than the yearly required maintenance on. All the reviews I read on this car gave it an extremely high ratings which is why I am shocked that I have only owned the car for 23 months and have been in the dealership for major repairs about 6-7 times. The only thing that has saved this situation is that I bought it under a CPO warranty. I would strongly advise against purchasing this vehicle that does not come with a warranty because it will break and cost you a lot of money. I have had various problems from the convertible roof leaking, to the water pump breaking, broken bluetooth, a coolant leak, broken throttle (this left me stranded on a incline ramp- that was fun), camshift disconnection, and airbag disconnection issues. I even contacted VW corporate and all they stated is that they "would take my comments into consideration". At this point even the dealership is advising me to either purchase an additional warranty or trade in, I will most likely be gladly trading this in at the end of the CPO.
