Well, I traded in a 2021 Sierra 1500 Duramax for the 2022 Tundra Platinum. I will say, the Interior is a big step in the right direction. Truck overall has a lot of awesome features and upgrades. You definitely do not feel like you’re in a V6, it has amazing power and rides very smooth. Sometimes I honestly forget I am even driving a truck. ( Not sure I like that feeling.) I miss the truck like feeling I had with the Sierra, i’m crazy I know. The Infotainment system has some areas that need to improve, example before you put it into drive you need to select your profile in order to use things like navigation. If you choose to turn off Apple/Android CarPlay in constantly pops up a window that says connection failed. Extremely annoying. Remote start is setup a little goofy. When you remote start and walk up to your truck and unlock it, it turns the truck off and you need to restart it again. Toyota says this is a security feature. GMC had that figured out pretty easy, you need the fob in order to drive away. I miss the trifold tailgate. I do love the panoramic moonroof, 14 inch screen is beautiful and the ambient lighting is really cool. Overall for this being my first ever Toyota, its very nice and a well built truck. Consul safe is a win and the ventilated rear seats and back window sunshades are awesome, especially living in AZ. I will be patient and try to adjust to some of the difference from my previous truck. Overall you get a ton of luxury and comfort for the price you pay with the Platinum and I think that’s a big plus.

Pros: The engine power is phenomenal and the infotainment system is great, the stereo sounds incredible. A few glitches here and there, sometimes the iPhone doesn't connect and you have to turn the truck off and on again to connect it. The Army Green looks amazing when the sun hits it. Seats are great. Back seat storage is great. Price - compared to the overpriced alternatives, it was a good deal for what you get. Cons: The ride quality on the TRD Sport is terrible...TERRIBLE. Every little tiny bump - you don't just feel it once, you feel it 2-3 more times and it hits hard. They need to fix the suspension, it's bad - IMO it should be recalled and better shocks installed - it's back hurting bad. It bounces all around when you hit little bumps, even going slow. My 2004 Nissan Titan rode better. (Update: Getting rid of the Geolandar XC tires and replacing them with some A/T tires helped a bit, but the ride could still be better, but you lose 1-2 MPG with A/T tires.) Gas mileage is pretty bad. I'm getting average around 15-16 mpg with combo of rural and highway driving, in Eco mode...I thought going with a smaller engine with turbos would increase gas mileage, but it doesn't seem that great. Turning radius is horrific.

Knocking Noise and damage on the tailgate

Bought a New Truck Toyota Tundra 2022 on July 2022 From Toyota Canada Montreal Gabriel DealerI, found few days later a damage, this damage was made by the dealer or during delivery process.I Sent the Photos to Toyota Canada. I raised a complaint to the Toyota compliance team but it was in vain. After i filled out the survey negatively. They called me and said that they will repair the damage, and until now They didn't proceed with the repairs and they don't answer anymore when i try to reach them. I am still waiting for them to respect the Warranty. Second Issue: I hear a Knocking noise when driving over bumps, i showed it to 2 Toyota Dealers in my area, they say it is normal. and when reading reviews on the net, some owners in Canada and USA get it fixed at the Dealer in their Areas. I chose Toyota for best customer service but that did not happen. For a brand new Truck, i was a nightmare as experience. Toyota... Shame on you

Wireless charger does not work

2022 Toyota Tundra TRD PRO 4dr CrewMax 4WD SB w/5.5' Bed (3.5L 6cyl Turbo gas/electric hybrid 10A)

There are so many forums for Toyota tundras where the wireless chargers does not work and Toyota will not do anything to fix the issue. For such an expensive truck you would think this kind of stuff wouldn’t happen and if it did that Toyota would fix it. Since it’s not a safety issue where they can be sued then they won’t fix it

Catastrophic failure at 2000 miles

I have a 2022 1794 hybrid with 2000 miles and 2 mos old. Had a catastrophic failure while driving, engine steering and brakes failed. Luckily I lived, Toyota won't buy the car back they think its my problem nor will the dealer do anything they blame it on toyota.Do not buy this vehicle it's literally risking you and your family's life. Sad I bought Toyota for perceived quality and service, what a joke.
