Used 2001 Toyota Tundra Consumer Reviews
2001 Tundra, My Best VEHICLE over all
I bought this truck new in nov. 2000. It is and has been the best vehicle I have ever owned and I am 78 years old. It has never had any major repairs at 250,000 miles. I pull a 20 ft trailer occasionally with my Kubota Mx 5100 tractor and equipment, not long hauls but it does the job. Great hunting truck with 4wd. I prefer it over my 2018 tacoma sport which has 20,000 miles and sits in garage. I bought my great nephew a 2000 model with identical equipment, it has almost 300,000 miles, runs great and he loves it. Uncle Bubba says, Roll Tide.

Great Choice...very happy
After being a lifer Chevy/Ford person, my wife bought a Camry and we've been hooked on Toyota since. I spens a lot of time looking around at the Big 3 and decided to go with the Tundra and I'm glad I did. It has been rock solid...no problems, good power, handles great. I don't use 4WD much other than the winter, but it is nice to have. The brakes seem fine to me, I was surprised to see others complaining about them. I've had heavy loads in the bed, it sagged down low as expected but took it fine. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Our Dream Truck
We waited for 2 years to decide between the silverado and the Tundra. Our last truck was a Toyota 1986 just sold it. This truck rides like a car not a lumber wagon. I know my grandkids will end up driving this truck. My son of 4 when we bought the 86 is now 17 and drove the truck for 2 years. Very reliable!!
Excellent truck
I have had no regrets buying this truck and get many compliments on it. After 2 years truck is very solid and gas mileage is not too bad for a large vehicle (I get 17 mpg hwy/cty combined). Was very pleased with crash test results compared to other trucks. Only problems to mention are weak and easy to warp brake rotors (I am very easy on the brakes too!), plastic trim piece that houses radio, etc. that pops and makes noise when it is cold, some valve train noise when cold (typical japanese), and a squeaking noise from somewhere under the hood when cold. Most of these are not terrible things but ones I have noticed over time.
