Out of the box, works like a Porsche
A head turner. The indigo ink access cab 4x4 is great looking. Made me look into pickups (I had a 1989 two-door Montero that is an awesome BEAST) as a new means of transport. Drives like a car, interior is spartan beauty (oxymoron, but it works), storage is phenomenal, and instrumentation is thoughtfully placed and effective. Performance with the 6 spd manual trans. is responsive and throaty. Yes, a throaty pickup. Went with the sport package, and glad for that -- great price package through USAA buying service with the dealer. They through in a little lagniappe: the slidable D-rings in the bed. The orange lighting is a little 1980s, but hey, that's not entirely bad, is it?
Toyota IS the best
I looked for the perfect vehicle for almost a year. A lot of research pointed me to Toyota. The Tacoma has come so far that I can hardly believe it. What a versatile vehicle! And, it feels like driving a car. Still breaking it in though, so we'll see...

Great Truck
I saw a picture and description of the X-Runner in Car & Driver magazine. I liked what I saw - a sharp looking, performance oriented truck with a sports car handling package and a 6-speed manual transmission with ground effects to round out the package. All this and Toyota quality. Also, the interior is excellent including controls, gauges and comfort. Seats are great, stereo system excellent as well. Exterior fit and finish (desert sand pearl) are of the best quality I have seen. Before I purchased this truck I questioned quite a few Tacoma owners and all had positive comments. Thanks for a great truck
Great Buy...
This is my 4th Toyota, and 2nd Toyota truck. The ride is comfortable like an F150, but with better build quality. Rides nice & high, similar to a medium to full size truck. Excellent interior design and ergo. Bold exterior looks. The auto trans searches for gears at low speeds (not too noticeable), but the gas mileage has been predictable - 20mpg combined city/hwy. Plenty of power in the 236hp V6. Lots of leg room in the front & not bad in the back. Lots of great standard features on the SR5 pckg. Overall, this truck is worth the money... and I expect the same great quality that I've gotten in the past from my other Toyotas. I'm a satisfied buyer!
Killer Truck
I bought a new '06 in January. I am very impressed, it is my first Toyota. It is so smooth and easy to drive on the highway. At low speeds 50-60 mph it gets awesome gas mileage. I turn heads everywhere. It sounds good and performs excellent. I like how the oil filter is mounted on the top of the engine for easy removal. It wakes up when I ask it to.
