Practical, Comfortable, Spacious SUV
I have been driving my 2016 Toyota RAV4 Limited AWD (w/ Advanced Technology Package) for a little over 2 years. Overall, I like this SUV very much. The front seats are extremely comfortable and the Softex upholstery (synthetic leather) is very realistic to leather and has held up supremely well compared to real leather. The rear seats are very spacious and they recline for even more comfort. The cargo area is enormous and I've never had any issues fitting cargo. The power lift gate is handy, albeit a bit slow in operation. The interior materials are decent. The steering wheel is made of high-quality leather and armrests are adequately padded. There is a fair bit of hard plastic comprising the cabin, and the fit and finish of the plastics is average. However, the swath of padded and stitched material across the dash adds an upscale vibe. The faux wood trim is good looking and classes up the cabin compared to pre-refreshed models. I like the small storage area above the glove box on the passenger side. The 7'' touch screen works well and has good feature content, though the resolution is not the best. The Bluetooth system works well and is easy to connect to. The 11 speaker JBL audio system sounds excellent. Toyota's navigation system functions well and is easy to follow, although map quality is nothing to write home about. The climate system works well and heats up/cools down quickly. However, the lack of rear climate vents (other than floor vents) is not appreciated on a vehicle of this price. The heated front seats work quickly. The power driver's seat is nice and I like the 2 person memory function. A power passenger seat would be nice, but the manual adjustment works just fine. The gauges are very legible and the color multi-information display is very handy, especially with navigation directions. I wish Toyota would have made at least the passenger window fully automatic to match the driver's side window. While nit-picky, I am not a huge fan of the tone of the horn, nor the seat belt chime. Toyota Safety Sense P adds an extremely impressive array of advanced safety feature, often not even found on high-end luxury cars of the time. The Pre-Collision System works well, as does the Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist. Adaptive Cruise Control is very handy and aids on longer highway trips. The Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system are extremely handy and make maneuvering the RAV4 easy. I have discovered that it would take some real skill to have a parking lot fender bender in my RAV4. The front and rear parking sensors, along with the excellent 360 degree camera allows me to see all around the RAV4 when parking in tight spaces. The Smart Key System is very handy and the chrome door handles are a premium touch. I think the RAV4, especially in Limited trim, is quite good looking. The 18'' alloy wheels are very premium looking and I think the front of the car is the best angle. The back is fairly good looking (if slightly plain), especially after the 2016 refresh, which removed a lot of the black cladding from the bumper. The exterior lighting on the RAV4 Limited is excellent. The LED headlights and daytime running lights look very premium and are very bright at night. The automatic high beam feature is supremely useful. The rear LED taillights are also very sharp looking and make the rear look classier when the lights are on. Interior lighting is decent, however a couple switches (power mirror, memory seats, etc. ) are strangely not illuminated. Ride comfort is a RAV4 strong suit. The suspension makes cruising on the highway comfortable and soaks up bumps pretty well. Handling is definitely on the more relaxed side. It is not particularly sporty, but compared to the vehicle I previously drove (2014 4Runner Limied), the RAV4 can take a corner with much less body roll and can be pushed more. The 2.5 liter 4-cylinder makes decent power. While it won't necessarily wow anyone with its acceleration, it is peppy enough for any situation. Merging and passing is no problem at all. The engine also likes to rev (especially in sport mode) and is extremely refined. The 6-speed automatic transmission is quick-shifting and also very unobtrusive. The AWD system works well to improve handling and makes the RAV4 easy to drive in bad weather. There is no problem climbing snowy hills, as the RAV4 controls the AWD for you. The center-locking differential is handy to get out of deep snow in the driveway, for example. Road and wind noise levels are relatively quiet, but not completely hushed. In all, the RAV4 is very easy to drive and live with. While I have a couple very small gripes, this vehicle is excellent overall. It is comfortable, the drive train works well, and the Limited trim has premium features. It has a lot of cargo and passenger space and bounds of high-tech safety gear. I would recommend the 2016 RAV4 to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, practical, and well-featured compact SUV.

AWD Rav4 XLE - An awesome vehicle!
I've had my Rav4 about 3 months and am about to hit 5000 miles. For the most part I love everything about this SUV. I shopped around quite a bit until I found the perfect one for me and it was the Rav4. I love its road handling. It's breaking in particular is great. Acceleration is pretty good, not the best ever but I didn't buy a sports car. It is more than adequate and you can use the Sport mode for a little more oomph if you wish. Gas mileage is about what was advertised. I'm getting probably 25 combined on average. Not the best, but about as I expected. If you want better gas mileage there is the hybrid option. The space in this vehicle is great! I had a large male friend (over 6 feet, and a bulkier individual as well) sit in the back, and he immediately remarked on how nice the vehicle was and had zero complaints about room. Cargo is a class leader for compact SUVs. The touchscreen is excellent. I've heard some of them are glitchy or confusing in other vehicles. The tech interface is straightforward in the Rav and I barely have to hit something more than once with my finger to get the screen to react. The built-in Nav is much better than I expected. I've used it several times and it works great for the most part. It has not directed me wrong thus far. I also like how when you input a destination, it will show up with multiple route options where you can pick the one you want. I did let the Sirius XM expire. If you drove by trees it would lose signal. Bluetooth is also pretty good. I've taken phone calls easily and there are no major issues with hearing someone or them hearing me. Lastly I love the design and look of this SUV. I really like the exterior, but I love the interior. It definitely had stand out interior compared to all the other vehicles I tested. Overall I don't have much if anything to complain about. I still love my Rav after 3 months and am happy with my decision. You should put it onto your list if in the compact SUV market as it has a lot to offer.

I love this car!
I love this SUV, because it has a higher view for driving than sedans, however, I'm a little short for its large space. When I sit in the drivers seat, the accelarator and break and the steering wheel are a little far for me, so I had to sit close, and my space won't be that big, and on my way out of the car, I got be careful not to hit my head on the top of the car. So I would suggest everyone calmly testdrive this vichle and make the decision. This is my only concern about this car, otherwise, everything is great! The driving is great, the price is great, and the safety is great! I love this car!

In love with my new RAV
I have only had this car for about 6 weeks but I love it so far. I love the feel of it and the extra cargo space is great! We took it camping a couple weeks ago.. Awesome!! You can lay the back seats down flat and lay a couple good self inflating camping pads down, best nights sleep while camping yet. (Probably wont work if you are over 5'9) The weather was a little cold still so we only cracked the moon roof for ventilation, it was perfect. I plan to get an SUV tent for the summer months. I am excited for more adventures with my new Rav! My only irritation so far is the technology. I have my iphone connected but for some reason it keeps deleting my phone contacts and I have to reload them again which is a pain when you just want to make a call. Navigating through play lists and music is easy enough but could be better. I can figure it out but whole system could be alittle more intuitive.

TOYOTA WARRANTY INFORMATION!!
Before you purchase a car, check to see if the company stands behind their product. Some companies do and some companies do not. According to my recent experience with Toyota, they definitely do not stand behind their product. Paint was chipping off immediately after purchase and it was determined to be a defective paint job by the factory. Google "Toyota paint peeling" and you'll get tons of results. I called into their corporate customer service and they were immediately trying to deny that a warranty applied even without hearing which model car and year I had.
