The best car I have ever driven.....
and I have owned a lot of Toyota cars. I just bought my a month ago from Longo for MSRP. It is very quiet inside. The only time I hear the engine is when engine is cold. But once it warms up even in HV mode unless I look at the board I have no idea the engine is running. Inside the car there are plenty of buttons to control everything without digging in to the screen for hidden menus. I get a great gas mileage. 46mpg on freeway in heavy stop and go traffic. After driving a month I still have couple of hundred miles to go. Car is very comfortable unlike Tesla Model Y I was comparing it to. Total range is 600 miles but I will probably get more. Car drives great and takes corners like a sport car because of the low center of gravity. What I really like is that I can drive in HV while gas is relatively cheap at $4 per gallon. Or plug it in and drive in EV mode if gas goes up again. I can easily drive 400 miles before stopping unlike in any EV which has to stop every 150 miles for a charge. What a waste of time. 2 minutes and the tank is full. I did not buy this car to save environment because it is all [non-permissible content removed] invented by environmentalists to get paid. I bought it for the great range that will allow me to travel in remote places where are no gas stations nearby.

Best of Both Worlds
Finally located a 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime SE and I couldn't be happier! It is the best of both worlds in that you plug it in and charge the traction battery and it will go an average of 44 miles in warm weather on 100% SOC around home. The HV mode gas/electric system has a 560 mile range (on the highway) for a total of approximately 600 miles. Drawbacks include no memory driver's seat and base level sound system which is not really that great.

Near perfect
Got a new Rav4Prime for my wife in 2022. We qualified for the $7500 federal and $2500 state electric vehicle credit, which made it somewhat affordable. The dealer took half of it when they charged an extra $5k over the sticker - despite telling us when we signed up for the car they wouldn't. Still, at the time everyone charged these overages, and we had been waiting for 6 months, so we took it. Net net with tax, tag, title was about $47000 after the rebates. The car looks nice, it has all the bells and whistles - even the ones we didn't want and my wife doesn't use. I'm looking at you, panoramic sunroof - not once has she opened the cloth shade under the glass. It's a dumb fad in my opinion and a safety hazard, but that's just my opinion. The electric range is perfect. My wife charges it every 2-3 days - in the summer every 3 days, in the winter every 2 days. It's plenty for going to work, running errands, shopping etc. We ended up not installing any special charging equipment, we are charging from a standard wall socket, charges the battery full overnight. Our electricity bell went up about $30 per month, which is cheaper than the roughly $60/mo she used to spend on gas in her previous Hyundai Santa Fe. The car is running in electric mode about 85% of the time. We have taken a 1200 mile road trip in it, had to fill up 3 times, great fuel economy when it's in hybrid mode. Also use it on some weekend 150-200 mile trips in the mountains, which trigger the hybrid mode. So far in about 16 months, we filled up the gas tank 5 times, including the 3 fill-ups on our road trip. The acceleration in electric mode is very good. The feeling when it jumps away from standing is exhilarating! That instant torque is addictive. Interestingly, when in hybrid mode, the car is supposed to be much quicker - but I'm not feeling the improvement. Maybe it's because in hybrid mode the neck-snapping off-the-line acceleration is not there. Also, when we are in the mountains and on a steep section on the highway, the car struggles to keep 75 mph - the engine is howling at a high rpm and I can't get the CVT transmission to upshift even in manual mode. Can be annoying, but it still trots up to the summit. The car has very nice features, like heated and ventilated front seats that work great. It has a very nice adaptive cruise and lane-center assist (I love these), as well as the blind-spot monitors and rearview camera/rearview mirror work great. The digital dash looks great. If anything it provides too much info, though my wife uses some that I don't care about. Phone pairing and the Apple Car connection are great. The issue that plagues many of the lower trim RAV4-s, a noisy cabin, is gone from this trim - the car is very quiet in most cases (except going up on a steep hill at high speed). Materials are nice, the vinyl "leather" on the seats is soft and looks great. The rain sensing wipers work very well. The seats are comfortable, front and back, with good space in the back. The trunk has good space even with the battery underneath. There are a few minor issues I found besides the . The system that holds the breaks at stop light has to be reactivated every time the car is started up - this is annoying. The 360 degree surround view that shows all the cars and obstacles around you only works during parking and it goes away after about 20 seconds - since they have the tech already installed it would be great to use the feature while traveling. The touchscreen works fine, but the look is so outdated it looks like something from the 90s. The headrest angles can't be adjusted, they are fixed - I guess it's for safety, but still a bit annoying. I love how the car is running on batteries most of the time but we can go on road trips without long charging stops. For us it's the perfect car right now.

Great Vehicle with a few issues to resolve
Overall a very nice vehicle with adequate range for city driving, that can use some improvements: Owners manual is difficult to follow and often does not provide an adequate explination Heads Up Display cannot be customized to include road signs Sun Visors are too short often do not block out sun for shorter drivers Locking tone is way to quite, even when set to the loudest setting Setup menus should all be on the LCD centre screen, currently one has to navigate to the steering wheel, rear view mirror and LCD screen to complete different setups?

Prime
Dislike paying for Toyota connect apps. Dislike having to pay for dealer add on options I didn't want like nitro fill and paint protection and interior protection.

Our Prime is primo!
For us, the R4P is our 2nd "new gen" vehicle, bought to supplement our 1st, which was a Hyundai Kona Electric. Really like the Kona, but its performance on slick roads is not good. As, or more, importantly, we wanted to maintain vehicle efficiency while eliminating the EV range anxiety and need for roadside rapid charging on long trips. The R4P satisfies those desires beautifully and is easily among the best cars I've ever owned. You wouldn't call its handling sporty (except for acceleration), but it is very comfortable for both city and highway driving. On the other hand, finding one that doesn't come with a multi thousand dollar premium added on will take time and patience.

Love the car
Just got this SUV. It looks gorgeous. Drives smoothly, pickup is very good with lots of safety features . Like the apple carplay and wifi inside the car. Electric range is more than 42 miles
Major design flaw - do not buy!!!
I bought the 2022 Rav4 prime. I was loving the car, everything was great about it until last week I got a check engine light. Took to the dealership to find out the some wires were chewed off by mice. Apparently they use soy based wires that mice love to chew on and its a huge problem. Its $5000 to repair and it will probably keep happening again! This is a huge design defect and Toyota is still selling them despite such a huge flaw! Im gonna stay away from Toyotas until they address this and I recommend you do the same and spend your money elsewhere.

2 to 5 stars depending if it's driveable
My Rav4 has been in the shop for 6 weeks after the dash went comepltely dark one day. The dealership said this has only happened once before...and it took 9 months to get the part to fix it! I just called them and now they have 2 Rav4's witht he same issue in their shop. So I am in a nasty rental while I continue to pay the loan and insurance for this vehicle. When it worked, it was awesome.

Too much Reflection
Love the vehicle. Hate the reflective nature of silver trim on dash in my mirrors. Does it have to be silver? I have a 2018 Chevy Volt. Getting 50 miles per charge. Would love for Toyota to bring their battery charge up
