Great mileage but cabin is very noisy

Good: I am getting 41.4 mpg! Drives quite at low speed. The powertrain is smooth and the car feels quick. Bad: There is a lot of wind noise at highway speed. I took it to the dealership and they said it is normal because it is an SUV and has more wind resistance. I wish I had considered CRV for a better cabin over mileage.

Utilitarian and gets the job done

When I go Toyota, I think no frills and that’s what this Rav4 hybrid feels like. The leather-wrapped steering wheel (which I paid extra for) feels sufficient but not buttery soft to the touch. Toyota made some small cost-cutting moves like a terribly dim interior. In the XLE there is no illumination on the door console or the overhead consoles, and the non-LED interior lights are weak. I often have to get out my iPhone flashlight to see things inside the car at night. These are things you don’t notice when test driving during the day. BUT the car feels SUPER SOLID and SUPER RESPONSIVE and will be a perfect family camping/base camp vehicle. I’ve driven it over some bumps and nary a scratch to the undercarriage. The driving power is there and I can easily overtake cars on the highway. All the assisted driving is helpful and makes the ride feel safer. It feels like a car that will last for years. But just spring for LED interior lights or get an aftermarket upgrade.

This gen of RAV4 hybrid is best ever

Loved my 2020 RAV4 so much, my daughter went from a 2015 gas RAV4 to this 2021 XSE certified pre owned hybrid and loves it. I drove it, sat in it, etc. to find that it is really nice with the leather like seats and other XSE upgrades. Most important feature for me was the upgraded radio that lets you get remote function and health reports that you cannot get if you don’t upgrade that radio - you do pay for these services too, which seem like a double dip to me. But to have the tech available is what I really like in the XSE. Other little nice things are the storage areas are lit, which is important when out at night. Cup holder, floor area, etc. are also lit with accent lights. Nice. She’s getting 45mpg whereas I’m only getting about 36. I idle more and carry my wife’s mobility scooter in the back, dogs, etc so I’m also fully loaded. The scooter is 200lbs, two dogs total 120lbs., and of course other stuff you bring with you in the car. Some annoying things like door lock buttons are not lit, passenger seat height is stuck up way too high although now you can slide it back further than previous gen. Best part is it always runs, is 100% reliable, and gets great mpg’s. Can carry lots of stuff and never get stuck in the snow or mud. Seriously a great suv that is also a hybrid.

I’ve only had this vehicle for about a month, but I’ve really enjoyed everything about it so far. Overall, incredibly gorgeous on the outside, but you can also tell she’s tough on out the outside. Great size for me (5’3” petite female). Also excited to take it out to go camping/hiking and yet feel safe doing so. Color detailing is unique and beautiful—pearl white has microscopic pearlescent “glitter” on the white AND black paint (so pretty!). Drive: smooth, quiet, great turn radius, great backup camera, blind spot beepers alarm me (so helpful for me!)... one thing is that I notice how “loud” it becomes upon accelerating...but that makes sense since the car is already so quiet (like a golf cart!)...not a complaint of mine, just an observation. Interior feels luxurious and appreciate the heated seats/steering wheel (I live in an area with snow). Love the pano roof too! Audio system (JBL speakers) is insanely clear and can get very load...the only thing is the entertainment center seems so far away in reach for me and feel I have to bend forward and try extra hard to reach the controls. Engine-wise, no complaints so far. Haven’t had any issues as some of the previous models have mentioned (eg dead battery after few months). I am usually extremely diligent with routine maintenance for my cars, so I have faith we can also catch/diagnose any issues along the way before they get bad. There’s no wonder this vehicle is so popular.

This RAV offers a smooth ride and has much more room than years past. I look forward to leaving a smaller footprint on this planet. So many wonderful features. I went from a highlander to this and do not notice that is is smaller. It’s a great AWD car!
