Great car but the top of the line should have power passenger seat and floor matts included. Could also have a light by the tail gate.

It's the Little Things That Annoy me
*****update 2/18/2020 Both my wife and I decided we just couldn't stand all the things listed below about the RAV4 Hybrid. Also it developed a burning coolant kind of smell that would happen at random times. We test drove the Hyundai Santa Fe Limited, turbo and non-turbo versions. It is a nice SUV inside and out, but we didn't like the engine performance. The turbo had too much lag and the other struggled under hard acceleration. So we traded in the RAV4 for a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Limited. it's much larger than what we wanted but the tax credits make up for the hit we took trading in the RAV4. We got about $6500 off the Pacifica and were only about $3000 negative on trading in the RAV4. We get a $7500 fderal tax credit and about $1600 state tax credit for the Pacifica. So far with the van we can drive about 30 miles in EV mode and are getting about 35MPG in hybrid mode. And we have absolutely no complaints about anything in the Pacifica! ***** ***** After two weeks of owning the 2020 RAV4 Limited Hybrid here are my thoughts. We traded in our 2017 Dodge Durango R/T and kinda regret it. Wanted something a little easier for my wife to park in the garage and better on gas. The Good: 1. Gas Mileage so far between 37 and 41 mixed driving (in mild Winter) 2. Not bad acceleration, can feel the low end torque from the electric motors. 3. Interior design and look not bad. 3. Surround view camera not bad. 4. Cargo area good size. 5. Digital center gauge cluster is good. The Bad: 1. It's a Limited and has a 8-way power driver seat but the front passenger seat is manual 4-way. Wouldn't be so bad if they had added height adjustment to it. If you're tall you have to fully extend your legs to get any support under your thighs. 2. Interior lighting was as bright as a birthday candle at night, Swapped all the interior lights for LED's now much better. 3. The drivers door controls for windows and locks have NO back-lighting. Impossible to see at night. Same for the overhead console buttons There is a small dim light on the drivers window switch, but that's it. 4. The placement of buttons for heated steering wheel, rear hatch open, automatic high beams are to the left of the steering wheel and hard to see unless you move your head almost to the window. At least they have back-lighting. 5. The remote services application for lock, unlock and remote start is flaky and has only worked about a third of the time we have had the car. Well known issue for the 2020's. 6. A big issue and widespread is a problem filling the gas tank. It is a 14.5 gallon tank and while refueling, the gas pump will want to stop when the tank can hold about another 3 gallons. You have to go very slow after the pump clicks and the gas pump will still click off several times. You have to keep removing the pump nozzle to look down the fill pipe too see if it's really full. 7. The 8" touch screen and infotainment display seems kind of old and slow even though it's a newer design. The album cover images for SiriusXM seem to rarely update. The navigation looks like it came from a Garmin of 10 years ago. It does have Apple car play and Android auto so that's good. 8. The adaptive cruise control is not as good as what we had in the Durango or what I have in my RAM 1500. If someone pulls out in front of you about 400 feet away it won't detect them and you have to apply the brake. Same is true if you come upon stopped traffic from a ways off. It only really works well when you have been following another vehicle in it's range. I know people might find this issues I list as bad to be petty but they are what annoy me. If they aren't issues to you then go for it. Up until last year I hadn't bought a foreign branded car in the 30+ years I've been buying them. Last year I bought my son a 2019 Hyundai Elantra SE. It seems like a solid car with good looks and gets about 35Mpg, with no real complaints. Also bought my sister a 2019 Kia Niro Hybrid EX with no real complaints, gets about 45Mpg. If I had to do it over we wouldn't have bought the RAV4, probably would have got the Hyundai Sante Fe 2,0T. We've decided to keep the RAV4 as it will be a good starter car for our daughter when she starts driving in a few years. .

After 5 RAV4's, this is the best model yet!
One small problem, sometimes when I start out, the car pulls right or left. Turning it off and back on, sometimes solves this or driving for a short while, it stops doing it. Yes, I've turned off Lane Centering and corrective steering from swaying. I've tried it all, will be getting this looked at during first service visit. That out of the way, this is by far the best RAV4 and RAV4 hybrid made to date. Why do I say this? There are too many reasons, but I got the hybrid XLE, which I owned a 2016 version before, and this is much better. Getting 40mpg on average. Amazing. Never had this in the 2016. Smoother hybrid hand off. Same weird noise in reverse, sounds like a space ship. And sounds like a police siren when coming up to a slow stop. Pulling up to the gas pump makes you forget about that in an hour or two! My 2018 SE AWD non-hybrid, I got about 15-18 mpg in this area, suburbs of Philly. 15 if idling at all and 18 if no idling. Highway long trips I got about 25mpg if careful with speed and stops/starts. Since most of my driving is around here, I'm seeing a HUGE increase in MPG since I got this 2020 hybrid. My wife's mobility scooter fits in the back, like it did in the 2018. The loss of cargo space is mostly due to the slant in the rear door, which sucks, but does not really affect my life. Scooter still goes in. Some groceries can fit in there, around or on the scooter. Cannot stack 12 or more luggage totes in the back with the seat folded down because of that darn slanted rear door. But it does look cooler. As for the performance, it is simply an amazing drive and ride. From the dashboard layout, things are within reach vs. having to reach for everything on the older models, to the newer stand out screen interface, to the addition of Apple CarPlay, the improved HVAC system with rear center console vents to keep our assistance dogs cooler in the summer temps, to the LED headlights AND LED fog lights, to the improved safety sense system, to the more roomy back seats, and the list goes on. There isn't much I can say on the negatives of it all. I like the many improvements this offered. There have been many. The ride quality is night and day different. The noise level in the car is moderately improved. The front console is more impinged upon the driver and passenger, but you don't mind because everything is now within reach. No longer having to sit up and stretch to touch the radio screen. That is a biggie. Same with cup holders. Makes it more like a cockpit and allows you to focus on driving while not having to stretch to reach things. This is more important than it sounds; having had 5 of these, I know. I almost passed this up due to the reported problems with the gas tank and lack of being able to fill it up, so far I have not had that issue and after 2500 miles I think I would have experienced it by now. Using the plug in car monitoring system Bouncie, using the car computer, and using the manual method of figuring out mpg, along with gas needed to fill up, I have no issues with the gas tank. The other reported issue was transmission related. No issues to report. Smooth as can be, you don't feel shifts and I didn't on my last non-hybrid version either. It moves from gas to electric is smooth as can be. Would I recommend this to you? Yes, I would. And to be honest, I got a few thousand off of this model. It came to the lot with LED fog lights. A worthy $250 option put on at the port of entry. Same with the side molding strips. The heated package is worth every penny, heated steering wheel, heated seats, and heated windshield wiper defroster strips. I have had issues with the lane centering on cruise control, yes. And I will get that looked at. It pulls you to the yellow lines at high speed - a major goof up. And dangerous. Plus the random pulling upon starting out. Given everything as a whole, and the way my other new cars have been fraught with issues, I'd say this is a small thing overall. I'm not brand loyal or car specific. But I've tried other cars to only trade them in after a year or so, always going back to the RAV4. The RAV4 is solid. It is comfortable for a big guy at 6'0" and 325lbs. My wife with back issues finds these seats comfortable. Plenty of room for big assistance dog in the back seat. Little things like the rear A/C center console vents will make your passengers (people or dogs) much more comfortable in summer. And the A/C system kicks butt. At least give this a look over at your dealership before you buy the gas version and you can believe the mpg claims - I drive it like a hybrid when I can, but it is not always possible. Still getting 40 mpg. Mine was made 3/2020

Love the car - the gas mileag is not as advertised
Its a great car overall. I bought it in large part for the gas mileage. I have had the car almost a year (I have the 2019 model) and I get closer to 33 MPG combined, not the 40 MPG advertised. This combined with the fact that the tank is 10 gallons, not 15 gallons (as advertised) means I am filling up much more often than I wanted to. Other than that, I am fairly happy with the purchase.
It’s a Winner and Fits My Personality
I was deciding my new vehicle purchase between this and the Honda CR-V. Problem was their hybrid model hasn’t been released yet. The RAV4 Hybrid (XSE trim) just has the better looks and lines over the CR-V. Since I wanted a hybrid Toyota is second to none when it comes to Hybrid technology. So the decision was relatively simple to make. Don’t get me wrong, the CR-V is a grreat vehicle, but the RAV4 in this compact SUV segment just fits my personality better. So far I’ve only logged a couple hundred miles. So far I’m loving every minute of it. No complaints or concerns so far. On top of that. ToyotaCare takes care of all maintenance (2yrs/25,000 miles) which is included on all new car purchases.
