I was totally taken by surprise at how quick this little SUV can be, though I wasn’t expecting any thing at all. I love the body style the interior is awesome with all its gadgets and extras built into the hybrid package. I’m getting over 40 miles per gallon and I can view with a lot of highway miles. If you’re looking for the best of both worlds this is definitely a midsize SUV for you.

2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid LE 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

6 months of driving this vehicle and I already can't wait to get rid of it. I bought his car primarily as a work commuter and the two feature that sold me were the AWD and MPG. As far as the gas mileage goes it exceeds what is on paper as I'm getting about 41mpg on mainly highway. and the radar cruise control is a nice feature. After that it's all down hill from there and I wish I would have spent more time test driving this vehicle. The road noise at highway speeds is terrible, I can't fill my gas tank up the whole way (on that note it is going back to the dealership to be replaced so we will see), I need to find a way to turn off the ice warning as it's obnoxious, the driver side seat creeks badly, in my opinion the suspension is not impressive at all as my F150 rides nicer, the buttons for defrost, fan speed, ect are small and hard to read. I find that I have to take my eyes off the road longer that I would like to make sure that I'm selecting the right one. Their not very intuitive as they run together in one long strip without and differentiation. I know buying the LE model that some things wont be as nice but would it have been too hard for Toyota to include auto on/off headlights? After all they included auto high beams which I find only work about 80% of the time, the other 20% your blinding someone because they don't turn off. Needless to say I don't use this feature. Three setting for the windshield wipers is not ideal. Also the car has some really bright headlights but why does it have such dismal interior lighting, couldn't they include some LED's for when you open the door? The last gripe is the window lock/unlock control buttons. Only the driver window one has any kind of back lighting to it, so good luck finding the lock/unlock buttons at night if you need to.

Impressive, a few quirks

The rav4 has a very smooth drivetrain - the gas engine and electronic motors switch or cooperate without a hiccup. Fuel economy is very good, getting 41 mpg with mixed driving and even some towing. Acceleration is lively. Vehicle is roomy and has a lot of cargo space. Safety features work well, though lane control might not be appreciated by everyone as it can feel a little fussy. Filling the gas tank is a little disappointing. I find I can add 10-11 gallons and the vehicle registers full on the gauge. So either there is a 3 gallon reserve or the fill cuts out prematurely..The vehicle drives well on dirt, gravel, and paved roads. Seats were comfortable on a five hour drive.

RAV4 number four, since 2002. The only criticism is that interior has more hard plastic than the previous mid-spec model, but fixing that with carbon fiber accents. The 2.5Lt Hybrid AWD is an amazing step forward for RAV4, when most of the Euro competitors are still offering a 10 year old product, with questionable reliability.

A big upgrade. Both the Ride & the Styling are better. Appealing to look at with the Black Exterior and the Nutmeg Interior. The appointments are a big step forward, even over the Lexus NX Hybrid which I leased while waiting for the second year of the new platform. The improved tech is very good as well. Will be adding the CD player into the center arm rest, just can't change the medium again. My highest recommendation is: I bought it. I bought it for me.
