Got price match from Burnsville Toyota, MN for $20625 + tax. After lot of hestitation gave it a shot for Prius based on the consumer reviews. After first fill up, 53 MPG based on the electronic gauge. Tried ECO mode. Noticed the mpg is better with ECO mode ON however car struggles to climb uphill. Merging into traffic is difficult. But in the normal mode, no difficulties with uphill or merging into traffic. Ride is smooth. Road noise is significant when the speed is greater than 65 mph. You will get used to it in 1 day. Nice car for city driving. Initially debating between Corolla and Prius. Based on Fuelly reviews, for city driving Corolla is not that great (<30 mpg). Decided to try Prius. July 18, 2017 (Update after 2 years of ownership): ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Everything was great until last week. I had a flat tire. I must have rubbed the rear right against curb. AAA helped swap flat with a spare. I took the flat to Discount Tire for repair and they said it can't be repaired as there is hole on the side wall. They also noticed the other 3 tires having cracks between treads and tread depth is 4/32-3/32 and suggested replacing them before winter. The OEM tire is Bridgestone Ecopia *** model. Now I am in a situation to spend few hundred dollars to get new tires for my 2 year old car. I am disappointed and frustrated. The money saved on fuel is gone. A reputed car manufacturer puts in cheap quality tires. Bridgestone provides limited manufacturer warranty for weather/ozone cracks. Upon contacting them, they set up appointment with a near by firestone. Manager at this store offered $15 discount per tire for purchase towards new set of tires. Discount tire offered me same discount towards purchase of new set of General Altimax RT43. I ordered them based on good consumer review. I will not buy Toyota cars again and would not recommend others buying them.

There are blindspots for a short 5'3" person at the angles of windshield. Wait for your backup camera to turn on before backing up. I had self- inflicted damage running into a pole with my rear bumper in a dark garage. The front bumpers are especially low, so they are easily scraped pulling into regular narrow driveways. The front bumper can also be bumped or scraped on cement block stops. The foot step in area just beneath the door frame gets an awful lot of dust. I like the hatchback feature for hauling long projects. I love the bluetooth and SiriusXM. Set your navigation before you drive. I like the keyless entry. Update: Perhaps the best feature besides an all electric car, is that it gets wonderful gas mileage. Update: My green machine is still on the road. I can put a bike in it, a 6 foot ladder. I like the gas mileage the best. I use Toyota Care from the Toyota Dealership for maintenance, synthetic oil change, tire rotation, air filter change. Now I have 22,000 miles.
