Good value with low maintenance
My first hybrid vehicle. Gas mileage as advertised. Average 50 mpg. Less in cold temperatures. Performance is solid. Has more pickup than expected. No mechanical issues, still have original brakes with 110K miles. Ride comfort less than desirable. Drivers seat very uncomfortable especially on long trips. Road noise a problem, worse on freeways. Overall satisfied with this Prius.

Second Prius we purchased!
We bought a new 2009 Prius (base model) and enjoyed it so much that we bought this 2013 Prius Four. 111,000 miles on the 2009 Prius and almost 12,000 on the 2013. We average 45-47 miles per gallon on the 2009 and 48-50 miles per gallon on the 2013. Great work car and short trips but we also make yearly trips from Tampa, Florida to Houston, Texas and beyond. UPDATE: We sold this vehicle in order to purchase an SUV to meet our new family needs. Although it was rated in excellent condition and low miles by several dealers, etc we were offered much less because so many of them are on the market.

Gas saving appliance....
When the salesman first showed me the Prius Four with solar and moon roof, and all sorts of gadgetry, I was overwhelmed by all the fantastic features coupled with the great mpg that the Prius is renowned for and, plus its reliability, which it has proven to be a reliable car. But, and this is a big but....they have failed to address driving ergonomics. While this model four has power seats with lumbar support, I figured out about two months and 3000 miles later on the car that the driving position of the driver is quite awkward and this could not be addressed by changing my seat position. If you are planning to buy a Prius, I suggest you carefully observe your seating and steering first.
Prius
Hard getting in and out of front door, viewing the screen is very bad in the day time. animals can get into the a/c filter and nest, Very satisfied with the dealer maintenance department, Very unsatisfied with the sales department, other wise the car runs good and gives good service, will not buy another one due to Toyota dealer sales department. I did lease the Prius for 39 months and will never lease again. they set the residual value too high so you can not buy at the end of the lease the car is worth much less.

Navigation crashes, resets, and just doesn't work
Don't a Prius if you need the navigation. It just doesn't work. I have had my 3 month old car in twice and Toyota can't get the navigation to work. It crashes, restarts, and one misdirected me. Too bad because the mileage is great and otherwise I am happy with the car. Right now I wish I'd gone with anything but a Toyota. They used to make great cars.
