We mainly purchased the Highlander Hybrid to try the new technology and better gas mileage than convential SUV. Acceleration is the most part I'd like about this car. It is feeling good to know that when braking the battery pack is being charged instead of wasting kinetic energy. So far we are happy with our decision to buy this vehilce. We anticipate Toyota good reliability many years to come. Thanks Toyota to help keep air clean to breathe.

This SUV was worth the wait. We love everything about it. It's a challenge to drive on battery as much as possible to get the best fuel economy. The sound system is awesome and the ride is as comfortable as our Lexus. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of usable space. Everyone who rides in it wants one!

Just drove the beast from Wisconsin to New Mexico and back ...totalled over 4200 miles for whole 5 week trip. Have not got a single complaint about this car...and I usually have a lot to say bad about things!!! This car gave me about 38 mpg in Albuquerque which is all mountain driving... up and down... stayed there five weeks.... was getting 600 miles to a 16 gallon fillup...on the highway, with the car loaded down like three pack donkeys, and passengers in the car, it drove like buttah at 90 mph...no stress, no strain whatsoever...I disagree with the Edmund's report that says when it is loaded it is cumbersome... My last car that I traded in for this one, a Lexus RX330 is nowhere's as good

Nice vehicle, not so nice mileage

I have had my Toyota for a month, after trading in a Tahoe. The ride is nice and comfortable, almost as good. The mileage is, of course, way lower than EPA estimates. i have not gotten less than 22 MPG or more than 24 MPG so far, in about seven tanks. BUT - I love the power - the gas and electric both kicking in when you romp on the accelerator is like a turbo - It'll really part your hair for a 6 cylinder. But it does lead to a large decrease in mileage when you drive it that way often. I try to run on electric only around town to compensate - but all in all a fun car to drive, so far. It was worth it to cut my fuel mileage from 14 GPM to 22 GPM. At least I can say I'm doing something!

I have been extremely pleased with my purchase. The vehicle accelerates wonderfully. I have been averaging 25- 26 mpg (mostly highway and AC on 100%). Which is a great thing since gas prices are hitting close to $3. I do wish it had power locks. The Nav package is very nice.
