Used 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Consumer Reviews
Hybrid Happy
I still find it hard to believe I am already driving an SUV Hybrid. With the release date being June 2005, the best I hoped for was the end of June, and realistically, I didn't expect to be in one until the end of the year. My only hope was that my Avelon, with 120,000 miles held out until I was able to purchase the Hylander Hybrid. Much to my surprise, I got the call from the dealership the day they got their first Hilander Hybrid, and it was exactly what I wanted, Limited Edition, color, etc. 400 miles later I am very pleased with it. It's getting about 23 miles/gallon with city driving, and it's a very quiet and comfortable ride. I highly recommend it!!!
Excellent so far
My wife and I have had the FWD Limited Hybrid for one month. Gas mileage, as expected, has been less than the EPA. We average about 27 mpg combo city/highway. Ride is very good but you can feel the extra weight of the midsection battery compartment giving a slight truck like ride. We can't comment on reliability. It worries us that there is such a complicated transmission etc. but we are relying on the quality reputation of Toyota that this will be a long term excellent automobile.

Pleasure
As a previous chevy tahoe owner I dearly love our highlander hybrid, smaller, more fun to drive, play a game with gas mileage, it's very quick, no problems merging into interstate. A great vehicle for a 78 year old .
A great addition to the SUV market
The Highlander Hybrid is very fast has an incredible acceleration, the handling is very good for an suv. It is quiet and confortable. I'll welcome a few little luxury items in my Limited, like driver seat with memory, low pressure tires warning light, or run flat tires, etc., but over all I am entusiastic with my car.
jason's hybrid
It is strange driving such a quite car. also no shifting is amazing. this car is qick of the line. when driving in slow traffic it only uses the batter power. great for traffic jams.
