2024 Toyota Camry Consumer Reviews

Beautiful, but . . .
Beautiful, but not for me. If all that matters to you is looks and the feel of a sports car, you’ll love this car. I tried the car for several days. It made me feel like I was caged with its poor head room. Why did Toyota make both the Prius and Camry into low slung sports cars? I currently own a 2004 Prius with over 354,000 miles on it and I’d like another one just like it, though a cooler style would be nice, if it didn’t result in less head room, lack of a glove box, less cargo space under the hatch floor, a missing spare tire and a low slung frame that makes it hard to get in out of (like some of the new models). Is there no room in the Toyota lineup for a practical, gas-sipping workhorse of a car that has the space for and frame height that many normal-height people need? Will I have to walk away from Toyota, to whom I’ve been loyal for decades, to get a car like my 2004 Prius? What’s up Toyota? Do only the very young and agile matter?

Great Car But...
Love the car, but when will Toyota put air conditioning vents in for the back seat?

A little disappointed
Starting with the positives, I think the exterior is attractive and looks good from all angles. Fuel economy far exceeded my expectations, regularly averaging 45 mpg cruising at a steady 70-75 mph. However, coming from a 20 year older Camry, I was expecting at least the same level of refinement and was disappointed here. The 4 cylinder engine is surprisingly harsh and transmits a lot of noise and vibration to the cabin. This isn't unusual for 4 cylinder engines, but the one in my 2004 Camry was silky smooth and refined, and I was expecting the same or better in the 2024 model. I was surprised how much worse it was after 20 years of technological advancement. Interior also feels a bit cheap with the hard plastic door panels and rough grained steering wheel. Not unusual for the price point, but I was expecting a little more based on my experience with the older Camry.

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED AND DEALERSHIP IS CLUELESS
Gas mileage is great on the se but if you want the latest technology you wont get it in this vehicle you have to own the more expensive v6 with the 9 inch infotainment display and at the expense of horrible gas mileage i also dont like the look of the more expensive models as i do the se but no push to start no remote start no builtin navigation only using usb cord with your phone via android auto or apple carplay but no wireless carplay and no toyota remote connect which allows you to control your vehicle from your cellphone anywhere in the world im fighting my dealer to have those features added to my se at no cost or lower my monthly car payments for this price gouge

Old Honda Civic owner converted to a Toyota Camry
Likes: strong motor & transmission preferred over the Honda CVT. Dislikes: Not able to get optional winter heating package with inventory shortage; I live in Ohio's cold weather climate. The heating package should be a standard option in all Camry models.
