First and Last Toyota

2003 Toyota Camry XLE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 4A)

Where is that legendary Toyota quality every one talks about. The paint is chipping off this car faster than I can touch it up. The transmission is constantly confused between 45 - 60 mph. The windows, doors, dash etc make loud snap, crackle and pop noises. The brakes feel like they don't engage until the the brake pedal nearly hits the floor. The steering is numb at best. The list goes on. If your dead set on buying an import I recommend you buy a Honda, Nissan or Mazda. Even a Hyundai would be a better choice than a Toyota.

Camry SE - A great car!

After driving a '86 Nova (Carrola really) and a '88 Camry my new Camry is a dream come true. I get many good comments on how good the car looks, black with upgraded Enkei rims. It drives very nice but I did add a K&N air filter and still plan to do a few more things to increase the horsepower. Only problems have the process buying the car with the dealership, a repeating nightmare of ineptness. Also, the transmission had to be completely rebuilt after the first two days because it would slip out of gear. We love the car though.

'99 Camry was better!

Loved my '99 LE Camry, but the '03 XLE 4cyl is very stodgy at low speeds - like it's stuck in 2nd, or has 'turbo lag' - Great at high speeds on the interstate, but not fun to drive around town, as it drags and then surges at every stoplight. Driver's auto up-down window will NOT stop to open at increments! Interior right rear rattle, over rough pavement due to strut problem. After only 400 miles, I would trade it in, but can't cope with more car buying hassle. Paid too much for this car!

GLAD I TRADED THE MAXIMA

HAD A 2002 MAXIMA SE AND WAS SO TIRED OF SORE BACK FROM THIN SEATS AND HARSH RIDE THAT I TRADED FOR CAMRY AFTER 4 MONTHS. CAR IS LIKE RIDING ON AIR, FUEL ECONOMY IS EXCELLENT, AND ENGINE IS PEPPY. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A COMFORTABLE,ECONOMICAL,AND FUN TO DRIVE CAR---THIS IS IT. I DROVE THE NEW HONDA ACCORD BUT IT SEEMED TO HAVE MUCH MORE ROAD NOISE THAN THE CAMRY.
