My favorite car of all time
Over engineered and over built. replaced engine and transmission after 230k not due to any failure but for peace of mind. This was mu dream car back when I was in high school and it first came out. I would rebuild it like new if I can find the right parts. Still running strong and reliable at 273k. A real champ.

OLD PERSONS CAR, AND I LOVE IT
1999 CAMRY XLE 2.2L in bogus green... BUT aside from being an ugly 4-door sedan in very good condition, it runs and drives superbly. I purchased it in November of 2018 with 81K and 9 months later, I hit 100K, so I drive a fair amount... but it's 99% highway driving. I avoid traffic jams like the plague and mostly drive on cruise control. The car and all its systems run perfectly. I installed new struts and springs all around along with good tires. I also installed an excellent remote starter that will start my car way before you can even see it. Lastly, I installed a Kenwood Bluetooth radio with backup camera and full LED lighting in and out. The car gets about 29mpg when I drive mostly on cruise. I couldn't be happier with it and its performance. It drives smooooth on the highway. Here's are the only negatives I can think of; After using Amazon Basics Synthetic 5W/30 oil, the engine began starting up with a puff of smoke and using 1/2 a qt. between changes, so I switched to Penzoil Platinum Synthetic 5W/30. It still has a small puff of smoke at start up, but it totally stopped using oil in between changes. The puff of smoke is most likely due to a leaky fuel injector or a worn valve seal, or maybe a gummed up oil ring, but I doubt it. Lastly, with the new suspension I installed, the car stopped sagging so I could get over the hump at the end of my driveway. ***Be aware that many manufacturers of suspensions "quick struts" (strut and spring that are factory assembled) assemblies that say they also fit the Toyota Avalon of the same year. Well, the Avalon is 300lbs heavier in the rear so when installed on the Camry, the rear end sits extra high. This happened with the Sensen quick struts I installed, but is not true with better quality suspension companies like KYB who make struts specifically to fit each vehicle. Many of the Asian-made and eBay quick/fast struts are more like "one strut fits all". In my case, this extra height was a good thing to help get over the bump at the end of my driveway. And while I'm talkin' struts, I will say the Sensen Struts also do not like temperatures under 35º as they turn rock hard. This can seriously damage your front end. Be Careful when chosing your struts ans springs!!!

Zombie car
This is the best car I have ever owned. Never have had any mechanical issues. My Camry just keeps going, never going to die. The paint/clear coat is peeling badly. Alas it is time to say goodbye. It will cost more to smog with repairs than car is worth.

Best Camry Style
I bought this 100% brand new. Had just came off the delivery truck the day before. With 60,000 miles on it today I still believe it's showroom new as it was on 2-16-1999. I drive it on long trips because of it's comfort. That's only time I do drive it.
Camry Review
This car has experienced zero problems. All that has been needed since day 1 is routine maintenance.
