Duck!
The ride is sporty. . .not luxury. Stiffer ride with 17" wheels. Getting into the driver's seat requires you to be a contortionist. Once inside. . .it's great. Comfortable seats. . .responsive, easy steering. . .good acceleration. My wife likes the car. . .I can't deal with the contortion required to get into the driver's seat. There is also some wind noise that is greater than it should be. I would prefer wheels that provide more of a cushion. My reason to trade is the issue with getting into the vehicle. I can't do that day after day.

Disappointed
Expected more from the flagship Toyota. We have owned many Toyotas in the past and have many friends and family who own Toyotas, including much older Avalons. This Avalon is just not built the way older ones are. Exterior and interior looks nice until you live with the car for a while. Many rattles and squeaks in the interior. Lots of hard plastics (though they look nice, they are not nice to touch on a daily basis nor do they feel luxurious). Very uncomfortable seats, no matter how you adjust them - my poor wife would get sciatica on long drives. Poor quality leather. Base sound system is quite poor - sounds very tinny. Significant delay on touch screen. Noisy AC fan at higher fan speed. Significant road noise at low and high speed. We have needed to return to the dealer to fix a rattling fuel line as well as a malfunctioning USB port - dealer had difficulty fixing these things though they did address them. Very small cup holders that aren't very functional. Very rough/jarring ride - supposedly a sportier ride - but the handling is still quite vague. On the plus side - it has a responsive, powerful engine nicely matched to a transmission with seamless shifts. But those are about the only things that would make the Avalon a little nicer than a Corolla, but I would argue that doesn't even justify paying a significantly higher price than a Corolla. We have since sold the car - very disappointed.

Toyota Warrenty is useless.
Bought the car new in March of 2016. I have bought 5 new and 4 used Toyotas in my life. This one has small problems Toyota won’t cover. There are 17 small tears in inch wide piece of defective leather Toyota wont replace under Warranty. I have spent well over$150,000 on Toyotas in my life and am afraid this will be the last. I have never had a problem with another manufacturer in my life. They should be embarrassed and ashamed. Said tears in leather is normal wear and tear on a $35,000.00 list car with 16,000 miles on it. Good car but garbage company. Traded car in couldnt stand looking at ripped seat anymore. TSK TSK Toyota.

Worst entertainment system ever
Besides the Avalon I currently have a 2008 Ford Edge and a 2015 Ford Fusion. I bought the Avalon to replace a 2005 Cadillac because the Caddy had a hard life and was worn out and didn't want to spend Cadillac size dollars on another car. All have order of magnitude better entertainment systems than my new Avalon. Even the aging Cadillac. The stereo sounds as if there is only a single dash mounted speaker and fidelity is worse than AM of my other cars. GPS needs to ne replaced too. The only function I find acceptable is the hands free phone. We like the styling, ride, comfort, handling, safety features and performance. Gas mileage is not spectacular, but acceptable for a V6. If I could I figure out how to replace the entertainment system and those awful speakers I would in a heartbeat.
