Loving My 2014 Toyota Avalon

It's an awesome car that I plan to have around for a long time!

Early impression of the 2014 Avalon

I moved from a '08 ES 350 to the Avalon recently after deciding against the '14 ES350. In my eyes, the Avalon looks better from every angle and test driving it sold me. The car's comfortable, quiet, and has all the performance I'll ever need. I have Michelin tires, and while the ride is just a bit firmer than my old ES, I've found it to be comfortable over a variety of different pavements. The secure responsive handling of this car more than offsets whatever small compromise in ride comfort was made. Again, early impressions, but I think it's a winner. One thing: I was surprised at how much darker the window tint on all but the windshield is. Compromises visibility, but I do have The BSM. After 3 plus years, I'm quite happy with the car. No problems at all, excellent performance, very comfortable, and pretty good gas mileage. Everything I expected and more! Update: 3 years of ownership have confirmed my initial impressions. The car is remarkably solid, comfortable, and everything I expected as far as performance and handling.

One Fantastic Car

“Rides like a truck”, “poor engineering”. Are you kidding me? I have owned many different types of cars such ans old Volvos, Land Rover, Honda, Subaru. I currently have a 2007 Toyota Sienna and a 2020 Kia Sedona. I wanted a smaller car and I did lots of research and looked at a lot of cars including European. I was very close in buying a used 2018 Camry, but by pure accident I discovered this Avalon which has the same engine and transmission as in my 2007 Sienna. As I learned more about this Avalon I purchased one in mint condition. I know this car is extremely reliable because the parts in my Sienna hardly ever go bad, even at 180,000 the water pump is still the original and nothing has ever gone bad on me, except the normal wear and tear parts like coils and spark plugs and one front bottom axle and shock absorbers. The engine and transmission are top of the line, powerful, smooth, and extremely reliable because. I’m really impressed and super happy with this Avalon, it has a more sporty feel yet it is very luxurious and plenty comfortable. So when someone says it “rides like a truck” and “poor engineering” I wonder what they were smoking. The only thing I personally don’t like so much is the speaker audio sound which eventually I will upgrade. Other than that this is THE best car I have ever owned till this day.

Fantastic Car

I have a 2007 toyota sienna and a 2020 Kia Sedona. I have also had different types of cars in the past, Subaru, Honda, Land Rover, Camaro. I need another used vehicle and I started doing a LOT of research and was going to go for a newer Camry, but by pure accident I discovered this 2014 Camry. To make it really short, I ended up purchasing one in mint condition with 30K miles. To make this review really short, I LOVE this Avalon. Same engine with the same AWESOME and bulletproof six speed transmission!!! I HATE the eight speed transmission in the new Kia Sedona. This Avalon is smooth and powerful. I did not want a four cylinder car. I have never driven an older Avalon model but I do believe people saying that car is smoother and more comfortable, but, my Sienna is also very comfortable and I have zero complaints with my new used Avalon. The handling and smoothness is just awesome and I feel it rides like half my Sienna and half my Sedona, meaning that it has a very nicely balanced ride. This car was just the right car for me.
