Roomy Toyota Sedan
I'm 6'7", needed lots of head and leg room, and got it the Avalon. It has all the get up and go I ever needed. Now that it's broken in at 140,000 miles, it gets 30 mpg on the highway; what a nice surprise. Maintenance costs have been half of our other vehicle, a 2003 Chrysler T&C.
A wonderful car to drive each day.
Excellent build quality, both inside and out. Very smooth ride. Good acceleration for a large car. Large backsear with lots of legroom. Trunk large enought to accommodate a family's vacation needs or four sets of golf clubs. Comfortable seats. This is what fullsized Buicks, Mercurys, and Oldsmobiles should have been.
Can't beat it.
PRO: We have had it since 1999 and purchased it used. We have had no problems. We traveled cross the US twice and never had a single need other than gas and oil changes. Great car. CON: cup holder in bad location....
Loved it for 18 years
It's a toyota. Next car will be the same.

Great mileage for a big car
Great car except for the springs and struts. At 25k miles the ride started to become very hard. Felt every bump. Complained to dealer and toyota. Their solution was too much air in tires. This while under warranty. Having springs and struts replaced at 55k miles. This should solve problem. Toyota will not be my choice to do the work. Taking to independent garage. Really believe the spring problem was known and ignored by toyota, since it only affected ride comfort, not handling. Also bought 2004 Avalon XL and the ride quality between the two is laughable. 2004 rides on air, 1999 inspects all defects in the road.
