Big guy comfort
I have 218000 miles on my 2017. Regular maintenance, no mechanical issues. Note, miles to empty fill up warning with 35 miles remaining is based on V-6. I run the 35 down to 0, then drive another 100 miles off the 3 gal. reserve. Still get 39-40 mpg in mild weather. Wish the leather seats had more cushion. They really never break in. Should have got the Limited with auto dimming outside mirrors. Pickup trucks will blind you. Really can't get in a offensive wreck with this car, it will move you over, warn you or hit the brakes and stop you. Will get the Highlander Hybrid next, same motor and drive train as Avalon. Sits up higher for better front vision.

Sport mode.
I really like my 2016 Toyota Avalon Hybrid XLE. Not the premium version. I don’t care. I wouldn’t mind premium but could not afford. I bought this new in 2016 trading in a Nissan Leaf. I enjoyed the Leaf but I want to travel and only 120 miles in a day then charging 14 hours won’t work. I drove 10 miles each way on the freeway to work and back. I regularly get between 38-39 mpg. I have had up to 45-46 mpg on more level trips. I had a 88 le Sabre that fit me. The Regal I had after didn’t. The Avalon fits me as well or better than any cars I’ve owned or driven. Comfort is good. I think this may be my last new car. I’m 67 and just retired without a big stash. My Avalon just had its 30k service. In sport mode I had one of those people that stay on the right side and next to you by the rear wheel. Sped up and slowed down and he kept me from changing lanes so I slowed and when he matched speed again I floored it in sport mode and got pulled over because I came up to an unmarked cop car. I explained and he had mercy. And he liked my new car. I can only complain about wind noise and tire noise. I’ll try a different tread to see if that helps and they probably used less sound deadening insulation to keep weight down. Handles well. I recommend this.
