Very Uncomfortable Seats. Stay Away!
This is supposed to be a luxury car and I bought it thinking it was. After a few hours from leaving the dealership I started having back and sciatic pain. None of my other cars cause this problem including a Mini-Cooper, a Mercedes, and 2 old British Sports cars! This car is nearly un-drivable for me as-is and I dread long drives in it. Luxury car my butt! I am extremely disappointed in Toyota. I have had several others and was a loyal customer. Review Update: I could never get comfortable in the seats and I traded the car in for a Lincoln. We're very happy now.

Just an OK car
Overall OK, but noisy and the Nav/Radio function do not respond. Even turning it on takes time. Mileage is good, but not near what they advertise. Side visibility is poor. Nav location is not ideal. Visibility is poor.

Avalon Hybrid 39000 mile review
don't meaner at 38mph to 44mph as there is an unfixable steering wheel vibration on my car and all 2014-2018 Avalon Hybrids tested. Toyota claims it is in acceptable tolerance. Also fuel mph is sharply decreased in this range as well. At 45mph vibration goes away and mph greatly increases until about 60mph. I have gotten average 53.4mpg on Airport trips of 80-90 miles if i did not exceed 60. At speed limit of 70 mpg drops to 42.8mpg. Exceeding the speed limit and driving with a slightly heavier foot nets about 38 mpg avg still impressive for a car this size. I max out with 623 miles per tank and typically refill at 580 to 590 miles. With less than 16 gallons I easily make 3 airport trips plus before needing fuel with car fully loaded and a smooth, quiet, comfortable ride for all passengers. It is not a sports car but has ample acceleration when pressed and great fuel economy on trips. Kind of like my old 8cyl 327cid 1969 Camaro with a smooth Luxury car ride with a spacious rear seat and plenty of leg room and 4wide opening doors. This car does it all at $32,800 but with tax, title, and out the door comes in at just over $40k. I would highly recommend it to anyone that frequently makes road trips. A bonus - pull into a parking lot or traffic below 26mph and press EVO mode and for a few minutes or 2miles enjoy all electric mode. I only wish EVO mode would last 50 miles and the car would be perfect. This car is worth every dime I PAID for it. The ride is far better and quieter than the Camry an also excellent car.

2014 Avalon Hybrid - Caveat Emptor
There's a lot to like about this car, but don't buy one. I test drove it, and thought the ride was a little stiff, but acceptable. I've been driving it for a month now, and each day the harshness of the ride becomes more annoying. Every rut, crack and bump on the road is telegraphed through the chassis. You'll hear every road imperfection and feel it in your feet on the floor and through the seat. On a rough road, you'll be thrown around like a rag doll. The longer you ride in it, the more horrible it becomes. Toyota at least owes us an apology for the terrible suspension. But they really owe us a recall and repair of this abomination.
Love it, mostly!
I have trouble getting the driver seat to move up as high as I would like in the back, so getting in & out is somewhat more difficult than I would prefer. The seat is low, so it's a big drop on entry and a bit more difficult getting out. The touch controls are VERY sensitive, so you can easily hit one accidentally as you are trying to control something else. Overall, however, these are minor. The car is a gem with GREAT mileage!
