99 4Runner
Not one problem. Trouble free. Retrofitted K&N cold air intake. 20-21 MPG. A Pleasure to drive.
Alternative Fuel?
Bought my 4Runner Saturday, and have been looking for excuses to run around town since. But am very nervous after watching the gas gauge. Right now I'm estimating 12.5 mpg. Has anyone been keeping tabs on their gas mileage? I want to know if this is of the norm, or need to get it checked out. I know it's an SUV, but reports rate it at 19/21 mpg.

4 Runner Worth Every Penny!
My 1999 4Runner was my first venture into the SUV market and it was an excellent choice. I've put almost 77,000 miles on it with virtually no problems at all. Routine maintenance is all I've done. It's a comfortable and reliable vehicle that is worth the price!
Fun to drive
This is the best car I have EVER owned. I love it. Its all around great car. Its extremely reliable & dependable. I just wish the rear seats had air conditioning instead of heat. I live in Arizona so air condition is more of a necessity.
4Runners Are Worth Every Penny
No problems whatsoever; this is my 2nd 4Runner (1st was a '95); I chose this one based on it reliability (of course), increased interior & engine sizes & increased safety rating. After comparing all other SUVs in this class, the 4Runner exceeded the rest. While the HP is less than American models, the 4Runner more than makes up for it with its reliability, comfort & safety ratings. The highest HP wasn't a priority for me.
