So Reliable
I bought the SUV in August 2002 and still rocking the car till today. I changed my oil at 5000 miles, has only done one full tune up, changed the O2 sensors. Other than that, never done any major mechanical repair on this car. The car runs great.
Great Vehicle!!
This 4Runner is a blast to drive! An incredibly smooth ride, and of all the '99's, 2000's and 2001's I test drove (Pathfinders, Explorers and this 4Runner), this was BY-FAR the best driving car. Managed to get a FULL warranty on this '99, even though it had a lot of milage (85K). Looking forward to years of enjoyment with this SUV!

Excellent Vehicle
Awesome SUV. I am amazed with the driveability & handling. What makes it so impressive is that you can drive it as if it was sedan - smooth, quiet, and comfortable OR like a truck - torque and 4WD, when you need it. The only negative is the gas mileage. I have found that if I drive it light and smooth, I am able to get about 260 miles/tank. However, if I drive it heavier, I'll be lucky to get 210 miles out of a full tank. Let's just say that the 4runner has taught me to become a more patient & relaxed driver, which is a good thing I suppose. Additionally, although I haven't tried towing anything yet, I feel that the power is quite plentiful.
1999 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4
Excellent SUV, drives great handles great for a large SUV, The interior is great and the seats are super comfy. Great interior space and exterior design.
4 Runner for Reliability
great for long trips, vehicle is heavy and holds to the road well. In town it is a little cumbersome to handle because of it's size, I wish the interior was just a little larger. If you are looking for gas mileage the 4 runner would not be for you. Comfort is great and I will continue to own one for the reliability.
