Don’t buy a tesla
I got home at 10:02pm tonight because my Tesla refuses to perform the basic responsibility of a car - take me from point A to point B reliably. It refused to power up on my commute back home and took me 2 hours to get home. I have only owned it for 1.5 months and am regretting my decision.

From underdog to bully
Tesla was founded in 2003. The same year GM (the first) destroyed its electric car. It was also the year that I bought my first 911. A couple of years later GM I went bankrupt (long live GM II?), Tesla was on its way to become a trillion dollar company, and I spent a fortune on maintenance costs for my 911. Lessons learned? Hegemony won’t last for ever. The car is dead, long live the car! And always remember that the Stone Age didn’t end for lack of stones. Since I drive electric expensive refills at the pump and repairs belong to the past, my Tesla is designed for the future (it feels more like a spaceship and less like a car with less depreciation) and provides so much fun for the present (although sometimes that comes at the expense of the owner of a 911 GT3 RS that wasn’t able to outperform my Tesla). Be ready to buy your first spaceship. You will not regret it.

Reliable and amazing
Ignore the negative reviews, this car is the best I have ever had. No issues, fast, reliable. All the nonsense you read about build quality and issues is misinformation. Buy a tesla you won’t be disappointed. I own both a model 3 performance and a model y. Oct 2021 update With 30k on both vehicles I have had zero issues, reliable, fast and no battery degradation, I don’t expect I’ll ever not own a Tesla

Like a beautiful French woman...with issues
Look this car is amazing to drive, period. The long range model gives you as much acceleration and speed as any very expensive fancy European sports car. But the Tesla quality issues are a real thing. Their painting quality really stinks, so you really need to consider a ceramic coating on the whole vehicle, plus PPF on the front bumpers. The car makes high pitched noises and low frequency pressure occilations, which isn't the best for those with sensitive ears. Some noises can be reduced, but there's great variability in produced cars. You might get lucky. There are many software updates pushed out to the cars which is a blessing and a curse. Although I enjoyed some of the blessings, I got a hard curse. During one of the software upgrades, It shut down my car's sensors. This disengaged all the collision avoidance capability. With it being cold out, the regenerative braking stopped working, and I ended up in an accident. Interestingly, Tesla released another software update the next day. The car was totaled And yet I am getting nearly the full car value because Model 3s don't depreciate much. So I had a reset where I could bought any other new car. So what did I do? I bought another Model 3 because the driving experience is just that amazing. No other EV vehicle comes close to the sleek design and price point. So I'm marrying another beautiful French (well, US) woman, with the full understanding that she too will have her issues. But that's more opportunity to practice forgiveness ;-)
