Love my new subaru outback!
Great cruise control assist -- I didn't have to put my foot on the accelerator for an entire hour! The car just adjusts to the speed of traffic. It warns me if I'm leaving my lane or getting close to the edge, and warns me if I'm stopped at a light and the car in front has already started moving -- keeps those impatient drivers from honking! Also brakes automatically to prevent hitting something in front or back. Great job designing this car Subaru!

Great car, horrible electronic and rattles
Top of the line 2018 3.6r touring. Less than a year old and less than 10k when issues started. Infotainment system had multiple black out, squiggling line issues before completely failing. Subaru did replace with “updated” unit after 5 weeks of driving around with nothing I paid for (nav, Harmon Kardon sound, Bluetooth, back up camera). Called Subaru customer service number, very nice. They told me they would make it a more positive experience? Not sure what that means as they haven’t followed up or offered anything to me. Saying something and doing are 2 different thing folks. Rattles in this car are like a disease. They come and go and I never know why. I’ve have had several that sound like they’re behind the...you guessed it, infotainment system. Maybe there’s some parts just rolling around that nobody has found. Latest issue, the passenger side climate control temperature display went blank for no apparent reason. After turning unit off and back on it shows itself again. I wonder what the next year of ownership brings, ugh!

never fear winter
This was our family second Subaru but my first. I have been stuck a few times in snow due to depth and unplowed roads in Northern Minnesota. The Outback could care less about an unplowed road. It goes in the snow and feels very planted. The ride is excellent. Love the seats and the comfort. I enjoy the safety features. The back up warning has been impressive. The car has just under 80000 miles with no mechanical issues. Happy with the car. .

Disappointing
Electrical systems issues within minutes of car being out of warranty. Not what what you’d expect for a $40k car. Oh and the solution involves tape! Ummm, really?

Electronics nightmare, Subaru won’t or can’t fix
The ‘Head Unit’ on our 2018 Outback has not worked since we bought it. Have had two dealership ‘reboots’ which did nothing. They suggested it was my iPhone problem - ithe vehicle definitely has Apple CarPlay issues, but I can’t even count on the radio working. Tried husband’s iPhone - didn’t help. Then - on third try to get it fixed, I was told that all updates were current and that they couldn’t reproduce the problems - therefore they couldn’t fix anything. Two days later same problems occurred. The mechanic asked me to take a ‘video’ of the screen when it failed - how ridiculous is that??? Finally (just at two years into the problem, they replaced the system - and it failed again today. Wish I had never heard of Subaru - will never buy another one, and would certainly not recommend a Subaru to anyone.

This is my 6th Subaru!
We're from New England, I've had 2 Foresters, and now 4 Outbacks. I came back to Subaru in Connecticut; because I wanted to go fishing for trout and salmon upstate Vermont and New Hampshire. This meant going through the backwoods and offroad. My other car simply couldn't do it. The other big plus is it's always been all wheel drive, so snow, heavy rains don't brother it... It can get us where we want to go at any given time!!each of my vehicles has served us admirably for tens of thousands of miles without ever needing a service call.

Awesome
I love my new Subaru Outback - just recently felt the need to look at vehicles and realized that the Edge I had been driving was a money pit, had no resale value and to top it off, I had been taken advantage of by the dealership. In the process of searching the purchase market for a new car and after careful examination I was drawn to the Subaru. This car is all I will ever need in a vehicle. To the Colorado mountains then to the seashores with road trips a many and yes a car to love!
