Love This Car!
I bought this car on a Smart Buy in 2001. My intent was to return it in 39 Mos. It turns out I love this car. I have the heated leather seats for the winter, moon roof for the spring and fall and V6 for year round fun. After 56,000 miles, my only service item was another antenna for the radio and new tires. This car has an air filter for the AC and Vent! I strongly recommend the L300, decked out as a fun to drive, inexpensive "Luxury Sedan". My only wish is that it was a little bit wider.
Dissappointed
Overall performance good though hesitates when punched from stop. Handling good at mod speeds, adequate at high speeds. Interior quality poor, especially doors and controls. Door locks stopped working – solenoids replaced. Front end tie went out at 60,500. Had extended 60k warranty & Saturn still covered it. Firestone tires very noisy w/ bad snow traction. Lots of back-end road noise inside, especially in rain. The car is less then 2 years old and already has several rattles, sounds like a ten year old car. Disappointed in the overall construction and would not buy it again nor recommend it. Buy the V6 Camry instead.

Saturn L200
I have been very impress with all the nice little features on the L-series model. I own two other Saturns from the S-series class and have been very happy with the vehicles reliability and especially the Saturn service department. I would recommend buying new or used Saturn vehicles from a Saturn dealership to anyone who does not like to haggle or play the sales pressure games. You will be pleasantly surprised the a car buying experience can actually be enjoyable.
peice of junk
I bought this saturn based on their reputation. What a mistake! The car has been in the shop on a regular basis. It is underpowered, gets poor gas mileage and I have taken a beating on the cars depreciation. Will never buy another Saturn or GM product. I am going back to either a Honda or Toyota.
No Way
This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a vehicle. Every quarter or more something major has broken. Replaced: Coil, Fuel pump, tie rod, blower motor resistor, pigtails behind the control head, entire exhaust system, and now my heater core.
Worth It? Think Twice.
I have owned my Saturn L300 for fifteen months, and I have never tired of a car so quickly. Before leasing this car, I looked at a myriad of other cars in the same class but by other manufacturers (i.e. Audi, BMW, etc.) but thought that for the money I was getting a fabulous deal on this car. Needless to say, the often anemic V-6 (getting only 182 hp vs the Nissan Maxima which gets closer to 250), less than impressive gas mileage (averaging only 21 mpg), and utter lack of styling, makes me wish that my lease would end as soon as possible. If you don't care about styling or performance, this is the car for you --other drivers -- beware.
Excellent
The Saturn LS200 is a wonderful car. Our car has just the 4 cylinder engine, but produces amazing power and fuel economy. Driving in the mountains at 65mph with air condition on and four passengers we got 39mpg.On a 250mile drive on the prairie at 70mph we got 43.9mpg.This I think is fantastic for a family sedan.I sure cannot understand the poor rating given to this car.
Impressive for a Plastic Car
This is my second Saturn Vehicle. My first lasted 300,000 miles and never gave me a day of trouble. This car, in the first year of driving, has been smooth and complaint free (other than the speeding ticket!) It's a smooth, quiet ride and does well on gas under my agressive driving. I love these cars because as they age, they don't show it. My 11 year old FIRST car looked almost as good as the day I bought it. And my NEW vehicle shows beautifully. It's long and sleek. I looked at Acura, Toyota, Honda, and Lexus... and, for bang for the buck, I couldn't do better than the Saturn. There was no hesitation going back.
Mostly Satisfied
I bought my Saturn in July of 2004 and for the most part have been pleased. I wanted a mid-sized sedan for a reasonable cost and this car provides a decent ride and is very comfortable, and excellent on gas. I like the look of the car and the extra large trunk. It has alot of bells & whistles, A/C, all power, CD, etc. The sales and service depts at Saturn were very courteous and totally "hassle free" like they promised. However, at 35K this spring I needed a catalytic converter replaced, and 2 oxygen sensors, and the Firestone Affinity tires that come with the car are terrible, I replaced them immediately with BF Goodrich All Season treads for a much better ride and some grip in the snow.
LEMON
This car has excellent power and braking but has suspension problems. I have had three sets of tires and need another set now. The vehicle is impossible to align and constantly wears tires. The dealer and manufacturer agrees that the car is made wrong and needs to have the rear aligment changed with some brackets. I have already taken it back two times for new spec changes to the suspension. I am working with a lawyer to hav this vehicle bought back using the NC lemon law.
