I bought the first Ram of it's kind to hit the state and so far so good. We are a Mopar family and this is my 3rd consecutive Ram since 2007 (born in raised in a GM home and that's who put food on the table). My last truck was a 2014 Ram 4x4 1500 5.7/8spd. QC Black Edition, so I have prior experience with the beauty that is the 8 speed. I'll preface this by stating I had been actively shopping (actually building) 2018 Tradesman similarly opted. I had went to 3 dealers to look, but just couldn't settle for the 6 speed transmission. The 6 speed and 373 is a terrible combo in Ram and the 4:10s are hard to find. I ended up seeing this exact model at the last dealer I went to. I while there aren't many rebates, I do get supplier pricing and qualified for 0% so I decided to take it for a drive. First thing I noticed is that the 1st 3 gears pulled substantially harder than the 6 speed. 4th, while low, seems to be a good mid-range gearing. On the highway this truck sings along at 70 moh and appx 1800rpm. I am averaging (only 200 miles on it) appx 15mpg, with mixed driving. I pull a boat,firewood,ATVs etc, and maybe a TT from time to time. I cannot justify the added expense of the CTD. FCA did right with this setup as the 8 speed can handle almost 600ftlbs of torque. I refuse to get caught up in this numbers game the makers are doing. The ride is quiet but firm, but it's a heavy duty. If you want plush, buy a car or spend $80k. I buy trucks for trucks. This setup is the perfect blend of function over form. The work grade vinyl is better feeling than most leathers and if I didn't tell you it was vinyl, you'd assume it was leather. This truck is carpet deleted, because who wants to clean carpet in a truck? If this gets dirty I can wipe the seats with a wet rag and spray out the floors. No more freaking out because mud was left in your $46k truck. Technology wise, I have no use for the 12" screen or climate control. They are neat, but wholly unnecessary, as phones can take care of everything I need and then some. But to each there own. This truck does have, park sense, rear camera, puddle lights, skid plates, On/Off tires/ Bilstein Shocks, Hill Descent control, Factory break controller, 220amp alternator, 6 aux switches, clearance lamps, and overhead night light (weirdly my favorite feature in my last truck too. It's the simple things) It's a well refined beast. There are a few things I don't care for: The ugly SXM antenna (I didn't get SXM nor do I want it), No flares on this year Off Road (it's an upgrade that usually results in rust anyway). Floor storage is only available on the Big Horn. If you can get over your stigma of owning a gas powered HD, this truck is a game changer. I know Ford and GM are coming to market with their answer, but I don't see that this race will ever stop, so pick a spot in the line and cut in.

This is about my tenth ram and is so far the best. Its the tradesman crew cab. Like the restyled black interior and finally no more grey. I had the seat covers changed by a local upfitter to black leather. Impressed with the fuel mileage at 20 to 23 mpg empty and 12 pulling a loaded trailer. Ordering the trailer prep package was a big help and cost less than installing later. Wished I could of ordered it and the side tool boxes together but you can’t. Like the pull down step for easy box access. Was disappointed that the steering wheel is tilt only and that they know longer offer the in floor storage on the tradesmen like my last one.

I searched 2500’s for 4 months. I went to the dealerships of Ford, Chevy, GMC, Toyota, and Ram. The F250 are light weight & seem powerful, BUT THATS BECAUSE THEYRE ALUMINUM. Price is outrageous, and style is too boxy. Also, comfort in the Fords are “Thumbs down”. Next, Tundra’s are nothing more than Overpriced Tacoma’s w/terrible gas mileage and next to nothing towing. GMC have all the Bells and whistles of luxury, but WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. Plus, I want a truck that WORKS, not shines in a parking lot. Lastly, Chevy’s options for the money are crap. $65,000 for a 2500 w/no bed liner, no running boards, no tie downs or fifth wheel hook up in the bed, and that’s on 2019. Finally, I got exactly what I was looking for in option/value/towing in the 2500 Hemi long bed. Design is smooth, sturdy, & options were best in class. Bed liner, FULL LENGTH running boards, back up & bed cameras w/zoom, tie down/5th wheel hook ups already in bed and also electric hookup inside bed. Interior is roomy, Bluetooth everything, tons of USB/power outlets, tons of under seat storage, heated seats & steering wheel, cup holders galore(I have 5 kids) and the price was low 50’s. I LOVE THIS TRUCK & unless something goes drastically wrong, will go RAM for the rest of my life.

We had been looking for a 2019 Certified Ram 2500 4X4 Big Horn Crew Cab 6.4 Hemi with the 8 foot bed for quite a while and found one from a Missouri Ram Dealer with ONLY 780 MILES on it. They had it on the lot for 7 months priced at $51K and appears they finally decided to get rid of it reducing the price to $46K (sticker price when new was $59.9K with all the preferred options). We did not want the 6.7 Cummins as we will never tow anything (RV) over 12,000 pounds and wanted the cargo bed capacity the gas model provides. It also costs $10K less initially than the 6.7 diesel as well as not having the $400 Oil Change / Oil Filter / Water Filters at the 15K mile maintenance; plus the huge parts / labor costs when the warranty expires. Also, we will only drive 10K or less miles per year. Have not towed our 30 foot / 7500 pound Travel Trailer yet, but anticipating a much better experience than our previous 2019 Ram 1500 with the 3.92 rear end and 1380 pound cargo bed capacity. The ride unloaded is a bit stiffer than the Ram 1500 and as long as you keep your foot off the gas, we have been getting 16 to 17 MPG on the highway at 65 MPH (13 to 14 MPG in the city) with 2000 miles on the odometer. Since the Ram 2500 4X4 sits pretty high, the MPG is considerably affected by any headwind and in my experience in the Kansas winds, it will reduce the MPG by 2 to 3 MPG on the highway. Overall, we are very pleased with the truck and will anticipate many years of worry free operation especially with the 7 Year (100K Mile) Ram Certified Powertrain Warranty from the new WSD and additional 3 months of bumper to bumper warranty to the original 36 month new vehicle warranty. March 2022; One year update is we are still very happy with the purchase as there have been no issues since purchased in February 2021 and accumulated 14,000 miles. Pulled an 8000 pound Travel Trailer to Key West last October (4200 miles round trip) and averaged 9.7 MPG travelling about 65 MPH on toll free highways. As far as unloaded operation in winter temperatures, we have averaged about 15 MPG in a combination of highway and city driving. During last summer on an unloaded 1200 mile eastbound trip on I-70, my best MPG was 18.7 MPG verified by actual fill up versus miles travelled (speed was 70 to 80 MPH and some tailwind) The fuel consumption computer was off to the high side by point 6 MPG. Since fuel cost has recently skyrocketed, we have basically parked the RAM and driven our 2016 Honda CRV exclusively which gets 30 MPG. Pulling the Travel Trailer this summer will most likely be to a local state park and not on long trips. March 2023. We have stayed around the local area in the last year pulling the previously owned RV to the local state park and had one 1500 mile round trip unloaded / no RV. However, we have recently moved up considerably in RV size to a 38 foot / 11,500 pound travel trailer. Pulling the new much larger travel trailer is no issue for the Ram 2500 as it actually rides better with the 1250 pound hitch weight. Planning on a long trip to Yellowstone late summer 2023 with this new RV and will report on the trip next March 2024. Fuel mileage has been consistent at 16 - 17 MPG driving mostly highway miles with some local street traffic thrown in. Pulling the RV consumes 8-10 MPG depending on speed, road grade and headwind. Have had no mechanical issues (other than 1 recall) at 20,450 total miles accumulated and what appears the OEM installed Firestone tires (never buy!) will most likely wear out within 10K miles. Looking at replacement Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse HT, Continental Terrain Contact HT or Michelin LTX Defender tires all with "Highway Tire" tread. September 2023; Returned from our trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks pulling our 38 foot long, 11,500 pound gross weight with 1,600 pound tongue weight travel trailer with minimal issues. We averaged about 9.4 MPG travelling 65 MPH most of the 2,350 miles round trip and handled the elevation changes satisfactorily. Only mechanical issue was the "Check Engine" Icon Light illuminated while crossing the continental divide in Wyoming at 9,400 feet. Light went out after an overnight in western Nebraska a few days later and stayed out the remainder of the trip. Checked with our Ram Dealer about the problem and there is a noted issue at Ram with the mass airflow sensor at higher altitudes. Was told to ignore it as there will be a software update when the next scheduled engine software review is issued. We had no changes in our truck's engine operation or fuel mileage reduction while the Check Engine Light was on. Overall, our Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi handled well in the mountains, but do admit the 900+ foot pounds of torque in a 6.7 Cummins diesel would have been beneficial, but in my opinion, not worth the additional purchase expense or maintenance / fuel cost for a one time seven day trip in the mountains. Bottom line is we are still very happy with our Ram truck over nearly two years of operation and 26,500 miles accumulated.

I own the 2500 deisel model. I bought it to tow my 30 foot camper and needed something that could climb the mountain passes of Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Montana. My truck tows so well and is so comfortable that an 8 hour day on the road is not fatiguing in the least bit. Mileage when towing is 11 to 14 MPG and 20 to 24 MPG empty. I have a history of encountering every imaginable animal on non-interstate highways so I installed a Ranch Hand cattle guard to protect the radiators up front which improved the looks of the truck quite a bit. I also added an auxhillary 40 gallon fuel tank in the bed since RAM does not offer large capacity tanks for rural traveling. Buying this truck won't have me second guessing any other make or model since it delivers on many key points needed to meet my needs. Comfort pleases the wife, power delivery pleases me, good fuel mileage pleases my wallet, safety features pleases the grand kids, and quite frankly, I can't find many faults with this truck. As a point of comparison, I have had 2 GMCs, 4 Fords, and this is my 3rd RAM in a row. Its a towing road king. Enough said.

All the hype, believe it. This is my second one and I don’t have a single regret. Engine pulls strong and lots of low/mid range torque thanks to the 4.10 gears and new 8 speed. Big improvement over the 6 speed. No longer does it have to hunt for gears. Very peppy, doesn’t feel like a 3/4 ton truck when you drive it. I’ve used the winch plenty to pull out cars and equipment. Love how the new winch line is now synthetic. Floor shifter is also nice because you can actually feel the truck engage instead of a button. Truck looks much better with 35s. Fuel economy is not great, but that’s a given. Slight improvement from the 6 speed. Payload is low but that’s because of the soft suspension for the off-road capability. Probably wise to bag it if you are towing heavy. The only thing I’ve had to replace was a tail light because the led went out. I have 67k on it now and that’s the only thing I’ve had to replace, which was covered under warranty. FYI if you go up to a 35, the tire will not fit under the truck like the factory 33. The only thing I wish I would have gotten was the trail cam. It is big so be mindful of what trails you take it on. It’s not as narrow and nimble as a Jeep but it will crawl over just about anything. Only thing I’ve added besides the 35 Duratracs, Factor 55 Ultrahook, Diamondback HD Cover, is the Pulsar Piggyback to the ECM. Mainly to use for the larger tire calibration on the Speedo and to turn off the MDS. Definitely “feels” faster on the butt dyno, but I usually run it in tow mode with MDS off, which holds the gears longer and throttle response is much more responsive like a pedal commander. This isn’t a garage queen, I drive it 100+ miles a day for work, City and highway. It’s a great truck that can do it all. Heavy hauling- just stick to the Cummins. Occasional off-roading just stick to the “off road package” that comes with a rear locker. I got this truck because I love the way it looks, great work truck for me, and I can play and not have to upgrade anything from the factory. If your on a budget get the tradesman with the Power Wagon package. I spend a lot of my time in the field so I opted for the nicer creature comforts.

my 2008 f250 continued to have issues, engine was great but not things attached or the trans. I got 250k out it but the repairs cost more than payments. I went with the 2500 on price point and got a tradesmen. I only have 2000 miles two long trips and all I can say is wow! The drive is luxurious for a truck and their is more power than I will ever need and the new body style I like more than Ford or GMC. My ford buddies call me a traitor :) but it was ten under and F250 XLT and I got more off with end of year sales. Will see in 200K what I think but This is the best truck I have ever own. Just enough tech, just enough extras but nothing over board. This diesel has a lot of punch. Down below it wont let me select 6.7

I ordered my Ram and waited 4 months for it to arrive. After driving it for 3,000 miles I notice the bed did not aline with the cab. I took it back to the dealer and they tried everything to correct the issue. The bed could not be fixed. Ram was contacted and reported back that I need to live with the problem. If you are looking for a HD truck. Buy a GMC. If you own a 2019 ram 2500 look at the bed to cab alignment.. Yours is probably off as well..

I switched from a diesel to the 6.4 hemi. The hemi doesn't disappoint with it's towing power. Interior is comfortable and I love the design of the interior. My only complaint is the body doesn't have enough strength lines in it so seems to dent easily.

Ram2500 4x4 crew cab bighorn 6.4 hemi ,It doesn't ride like a 1500 but I got it for towing a 5th wheel.The turning radius is worse than my 1500 4x4.The flip up tow mirrors are great,heated rear window is awsome

I would do it again. I prefer leasing cars but with the trucks I knew I wanted to own one. After months of research and test drives more than a year ago I chose the 2019 Tradesman with the Power Wagon pkg. 10,000 miles later and with continued research & comparison of current '20 and '21 models I am confidently assured I made the proper choice. Keep in mind I'm 100% basing this on the Tradesman with the Power Wagon pkg.

2019 ram 2500 6.4 hemi, four-wheel drive ,color is Patriot Blue. Has Auto start the puck system for a fifth wheel plate, tonneau cover that came with the truck, rides pretty good ,Great interior very comfortable seats,technology is pretty good,block heater,
