2011 Ram 1500 ST
My 2002 S10 was on its last legs and I realized it was time to trade in for something new. The purchase of the Ram came down to one simple need: Value. I come from a Ford family. My dad's employment enables me to get the some of the best discounts that Ford offers. I have always loved the F-150 and was planning on buying one. Dodge won me over not only with their newer design on the Ram but also with their promises of renewed quality (backed by a pretty good warranty). That and the Ram was $5k cheaper than Ford AFTER all of my discounts. After a month of driving, I have none of the typically reported Chrysler drivetrain problems to speak of... Knock on wood.

No Regrets
To be honest the Dodge Ram wasn't a consideration for me when I was looking at trucks. My first choice was a 2011 Ford F150 FX4 with Ecoboost. Although it was a very nice truck the cost was too high even with my dads Ford discount. After seeing a friends Dodge I decided to check them out and boy am I glad I did! The ride is so much smoother and responsive than I could've hoped for. I love everything about the truck so far (7 weeks after buying). The gas mileage of 21 hwy w/tonneau cover is amazing! My last truck was a 06 Lincoln Mark LT and this trucks blows it away in EVERY category. Also, the price was discounted about 12k from sticker price. After seeing my truck a workmate got 1.
2011 Ram 1500 ST. V6 2WD. Standard cab, 6.4' bed.
Bought the truck used about three plus years ago. Basic truck with manual window controls. In the time I've owned the truck I have had no major problems. Ride is excellent and cab is roomy and comfortable. Good audio through factory system. Engine compartment is roomy which makes servicing a joy. The 3.7 V6 is impressive and responds nicely. 0 to 60 in about 4 to 5 seconds not flooring it. Gas mileage is right around 18 to 20 mpg. Nice looking design and a performer . Towing capacity is normal for this size of truck with no strain uphill. Five speed trans with what seems to be performance gearing in the rear differential is smooth and quick. I don't know if I lucked out on this individual truck or they're all like mine. What I do know is I've owned five Toyota Tacomas, a Chevy S10, a Chevy Silverado with a 350 in it, and two F150's. Truck before the Ram was a Ford F150 Lariat with a 5.4 L engine. All prior trucks were 4X4's. I wouldn't trade my Ram for anything else. It's an awesome, smooth ride with unsurpassed V6 power. A daily driver of which I've put about 55000 mi since ownership.
