This is my truck. Bought it new Dec 2010. Overall, been a total " winner." Very minimal problems... until Autumn 2021. Since last October, fuel pump, total AC rebuild, and replaced cam and all lifters. Touch screen stereo no longer works. In total, a great truck that I hope drive for another 175,000 miles

I've owned my 2011 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 with the 4.7 & 5 speed auto since new. It was relatively trouble free until it hit the 10 year mark. I had regular maintenance at the dealer only...all oil changes, repairs and recalls etc through the dealer. Had replaced the CV axles twice and the steering rack once in that time. I use my truck like a truck - it gets worked hard and put away dirty. Currently at 225,000km (140,000 miles) and almost everything but the transmission has gone bad. In the last 18 months (30,000km/18,000 miles) I have replaced: - Brake pads and rotors all the way around (for the third time) - Both upper control arms and ball joints - Lower ball joints - Power steering rack - Front struts and rear shocks, plus suspension linkages and bushings - TIPM fusebox, which had a relay go out and caused a short to the fuel pump, causing the truck to randomly shut off and/or drain the battery - Wireless Ignition Module (WIN), for a no-start issue - Fan clutch - Blower motor - catalytic converter and y-pipe - both exhaust manifolds - now have some ticking lifters that have failed, meaning more motor work ($$$) This was a great truck when new, and I have put mostly highway miles on it, with only synthetic oil at the dealer every 5000km/3000 miles without fail. Today, I would not recommend buying one used. I will continue to spend money fixing this truck, because there's not much difference between my 2011 and a 2023 "Classic" Ram other than the centre console, a more efficient transmission, and slightly better MPG. I'd rather pay $7k to replace the engine than spend $60k (Canadian) to buy essentially the exact same truck.....the $50k+ difference will buy me a lot of fuel for many years to come.

TOWING AND 4 WHEEL DRIVE ISSUES

It seems the Actuator does not kick in to 4x4 when needed. Towing a trailer is no problem but the instant it becomes difficult to climb a hill, dirt roads, the front tires are no help. Took it to the shop for diagnostic and it is not throwing any codes. This pickup is a very light duty for the engine it has in it. Dangerously light weight body for bad weather travel

Great Truck, Horrible Air Conditioning

I love everything about this truck, but it is unfortunately ruined by inferior air conditioning. I have had it back to the dealership three times and they tell me it is working as per spec, but also agree that the spec is inadequate. FYI, the spec is to blow air at 20 degrees below the outside temperature. I can tell you that if the outside temperature hits 79 degrees or greater, you need to roll down the windows, or you will sweat in the car. The dealership has tested my 2011 a/c performance against older models and they claim that the older models work better. There is nothing that can be done about it. It is a design flaw that ruins the truck.
