I'm about a month into the purchase of my 2018 Titan Pro4X Crew Cab, and I'm absolutely loving it. I traded in a 2015 BMW 335i since I needed something to tow with, and although I loved that car and miss the manual transmission, the Titan still puts a big grin across my face when I drive it. I've already towed a boat with it, and it didn't even feel like it was back there. Great power and the engine sounds great when you want it to, but quiet when you don't want to hear it. The interior is extremely comfortable and feels well put together. With several other nissans in the family (a few over 100k miles and one over 250k), it looks like the interior durability is comparable which means it should look like new in 10 years like my others. I test drove all the full size trucks, and the titan really provided the best bang for your buck. I think the ride and interior quality is much better than the ford, it's light years ahead of the tundra (though I can't fault those for reliability), I personally don't like the styling of the GM twins but they do have great drivetrains, and the new 2019 RAM 1500 came in a close second place for me. In the end, I think the Titan rides nearly as well as the RAM, and while it doesn't offer quite as many bells and whistles, I was able to get into a Titan for about $10k less than a comparably equipped RAM. I think the only options I would have liked that I don't have would be a regular (non-pano) sunroof, and a heads up display. Cooled seats, around view monitor, LED headlights and foglights, and insane amounts of bed utility and storage under the rear seat are some jump out options that I love. Call me a happy truck owner! UPDATE 9/25/19: I have 15,000 miles on the truck and no difference in option. Still drives and smells like new. I’ve taken several road trips and the seats and ride quality are so comfortable, I had no fatigue even on a 22 hour (straight) drive. My average fuel economy is 16.4 mpg - I use the Fuelly app to track every fill up. My best gas mileage is 21.7 all highway driving at 78 mph. Lowest is 13.2 mostly city with ~120 miles of towing a boat. I do wish the fuel tank was larger but it gives you a lot of warning before it’s empty. No regrets buying a Titan! Update 03/25/2021: 31k miles now and still have no plans to get rid of my Titan. Still very solid/comfortable and a great road trip machine. Towed a u-haul trailer through the Rockies with no issues. I’ve had the fan clutch and EVAP canister replaced under warranty but no other issues. I wouldn’t trade my truck in for a new one because I like how analog everything is on mine. No auto braking, no intelligent cruise control, no auto start/stop (worst feature ever), no cylinder deactivation, etc. It’s just a truck, like it’s supposed to be. And new trucks have gotten out of control on pricing. Update 4/02/23: I’m just under 70k miles now and still love my truck as much as I did the day I bought it. I did a lot of preventative maintenance at 60k miles, but otherwise I’ve just driven it. Just finished a 6,200 trip spanning two weeks including some towing and it didn’t skip a beat and always proves to be a comfortable road tripper. I’ll keep it as long as I can, just like I’ve done with my 2002 maxima that I’ve owned for 20 years, especially with the way new trucks are priced and the pointless features they have.

This is a capable truck for both offroad and towing. My last Titan went over 300K with no problems whatsoever. The new version has all the new amenities you would expect of a modern truck. Be warned the Pro4X suspension is on the stiff side. Overall I love the truck.

TITAN - made in USA! Great Truck!!!

I trade trucks at least every year. During the past 7 years I’ve owned Tundra, Sierra 1500, Silverado 1500, and Ram 1500. I’ve never owned a Titan because of reviews - this year I decided to look at a Titan, and I’m glad I did. Getting out of a Ram 1500, great truck, but time for a change. Looked at a Sierra 1500 SLT, but not near the options of the Titan. Also looked at a Silverado LT 1500, again not near the option as the Titan. GMC nor Chevy could touch pricing of the Titan. The Titan is probably the best riding truck I’ve purchased. In addition it’s made in Canton MS vs. GMC and Chevy - made in Mexico - a deciding factor. In addition, the Titan has a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty - so guess Nissan has faith in reliability.

Good, but, not as good as my old truck

I purchased a CPO 2017 Nissan KC SV 2wd in May, 2019. It replaced a 2003 Nissan Frontier XE 2.4L 5 speed KC. The main reason for the change was because my 2003 Frontier could not pull my 3600 lbs trailer, and, after amost 17 years, it was time for a newer truck. While this truck has features that I did not have on the old truck, it is a gas hog! it only gets about 11mpg mixed driving. Also, it has started this sound that is like a jet engine taking off. This sound was not there until about 2 weeks ago. When I bought the truck, it was 99 degrees here in Houston, and AC was cooling great. And, no jet engine sound. So, I took the truck into my nissan dealer to get a recall addressed, and to look at the Jet engine sound. I was told that this is normal, and as designed. The fan clutch is engaged to help cool the motor, and is controlled by the computer in the truck. I explained that it did not used to be this way. Toby ( the mechanic) said that he could not change anything because there is no codes stored. Really? Whatever happened to basic mechanics? I took it to a friend of mine who has an independent shop. He tested it, and it is indeed the fan clutch. We opted not to have him change it as the truck is still under new car warranty. Another issue with this truck is that it whistles when you fill it with fuel. On this one, the mechanic at nissan said that this has never happened before, and we would have to get with an engineer at Nissan. Really? I looked at the fuel system in the service manual, and it seems to be a problem with the EVAP modulde that is connected to the fuel filler. I am no expert, or mechanic, but, really, if a customer comes in with an issue, you shouldn't just blow them off. I am thinking that this will be the LAST nissan I own. Guess this is how we treat loyaltiy. Never again!

SV Midnight Edition

5,600 miles in and I still love this truck. Before making this purchase I did a lot of research and had narrowed my search down to the titan, 2019 Ram 1500 and the 2018 F150. The titan had the lowest reported mpg, but when you compared the purchase price to the other 2 trucks we'd have to hit almost $5/gal for the Ford or Ram to come up ahead in a 10 year cost of ownership for me. When I came across the midnight edition at my dealership it was a done deal, a similarly equipped Ford or Ram would have cost $15-20K more than what I spent. The one negative I have is the infotainment system. I previously was driving an Apple Carplay equipped vehicle and the Nissan factory system just doesn't match up. With all of the money I saved on the purchase I was able to put an after market Carplay receiver into the truck, and there isn't anything else I would change with this truck! Update 12/7/20: At 15,000 miles I had the engine knock issue that is pretty well documented by now. The fix was a new long block engine. I've put another 30,000 miles on the truck since and have had no further issues. I still love this truck and plan on putting many more miles on it!

MADE IN THE USA--Turns out to be a lemon

Excellent engine/transmission combo---super comfortable seats---silent cabin almost no road noise---4wd engage very smooth---smart cockpit with easy manage controls---not overloaded with stupid tech---very ingenious accessories----NO BRAINER 5 yr/100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty ( thats what sold it for me ). The most important factor why I purchased this truck is that its made in Canton, MS. Not Mexico, Not Canada but the USA. 8/2/20--UPDATE--2 yrs of ownership and no problems --vehicle is paid for--I like it. UPDATE-2/3/21--engine needs to be replaced--cylinder #7 scored--under warranty . This problem persist in 2017 thru 2018 and some 2019,s. Not a happy camper. UPDATE--2/23/21--massive power steering fluid leak--34,020 miles 2.5 years. IT,s A LEMON---BACK TO TOYOTA AFTER THIS. UPDATE:---6/15/21----36,700 miles--parking sensors failed and windshield washer fluid all over the ground ( this is ridiculous ). By far the most problematic vehicle I have ever owned . 7/1/21---My 3 yr -38k mile nightmare is over. Today I traded for a Toyota Tacoma---I wanted to like the Titan but the Titan hated me--drove it like a car, dealer did all the maintenance, never towed anything but a wood splitter---SHAME ON YOU NISSAN.

Pro's: This is one great well thought out basic truck for the money! This is my 3rd truck and the best one by far. Super strong engine with great power. Comfortable bench sit for three people with dropdown console for extra storage and behind the seat storage. Simple to operate basic electronics with 1 USB w/ 2 12volts for extra plugins. Easy four wheel drive when needed. 8' foot truck bed w/ locking tail gate. Great 100,000 mile free standard warrenty. Out the sales dealer door for $28k new. Con's: Gas Mileage around 19-20 miles per gallon highway. However, the engine has extra "muscle" 5.6L that out way's the mileage issue. You will definitely need a light foot on the gas pedal. Headlight bulbs replaced with high intensity and added OEM fog lights. Perfect solution to lighting at night. Solid outstanding truck. Great value for the money. I have now owned it two years and no problems other than routine maintenance.

Build quality and components seem to be really high quality. Cabin noise while in traffic or at highway speeds is dead quiet. Engine/tranny is a solid combination. I had the engine light go on. It was a problem that required an engineering fix. It was under warranty (4500 miles). When I got home, I noted the fix would have cost approximately $1370. I bought this as a tow vehicle. I'm pulling a trailer that fully loaded will be around 6000 lbs. It pulls it w/ease. I wish gas mileage was better. Around city it's 14-15.6 mpg. Highway is 19.9-20.1 mpg. With a trailer city it's 13 mpg. On highway it's 15.7-16.2 mpg. After almost 2 years and several long trips, mileage while towing has plummeted. I get approximately 8,5 mpg while towing. Nissan says this is normal. Why was I getting over 13 before? I am towing the SAME trailer w/ less extras than before. Also, when towing w/ tranny in TOW mode and using cruise control, the engine races. Better mileage when using no Cruise control. I am considering trading it in for a Silverado or a Ram.

2018 Nissan Titan SL 4dr Crew Cab SB (5.6L 8cyl 7A)
11 of 12 people found this review helpful

I’ve owned 2 Nissan titans (2018 Pro4x and 2019 SL) What I like about my Titan -handles extremely well, turns smooth, nice off road capability (‘19 SL came with Bilstein shocks like the pro 4x Titan), quiet and powerful V8 engine, about 400 lb-ft torque, making this a fun ride. -fuel economy in titan outperforms the fuel economy in my previous V6 midsize pickup! Believe it! 7 speed automatic transmission. I've gotten up to 26 mpg highway, pretty impressive for a V8 gas engine. -Titan used to have best warranty for the half ton pickup market, compared to Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Toyota, at least in 2018, don't know about now (100,000 mi or 5 years for drive train/power train). I've surpassed the warranty (108000), looking forward to the next 100,000 mi -comfortable seats front and back, front seats heated. Can easily sleep in the cab for an overnight outdoor excursion. -best part: the Titan is made in America (Canton Mississippi). Proud to drive a Titan and support American labor. Go USA. Downsides of Titan -yes, it's a half ton, the crew cab only tows 9200 lbs and payload capacity small (If you need to tow more you probably should not be looking to buy a truck in the half ton pickup market anyways). critics quit comparing the half ton Titan to 3/4 ton and 1 ton pickups, it's apples and oranges. If you want that high there’s titan XD -I don't like the fact that I have to turn my engine on to roll down my windows. Be nice if I could just roll them down and not start engine. -I don't like the daylights. You can't ever shut off your lights. I would prefer if I could just shut my lights off entirely. I understand it's for safety. -Titan crew cab only comes in 1 bed size, a measly 5.6 ft. I would prefer a longer bed. I have kids so you can't get everything, a full size SUV would be nice but you lose the bed, and it's nice to have a bed for my outdoor life. -I would not pay $50k plus for the SL Titan brand new (think the new models start just under $60k), but I would buy a used low mileage Titan hands down if I was looking for a new vehicle. It's worth the money and the truck is worth it. I have no regrets. Looking for this to last many years to come. -don’t care for how it handles as daily driver in town to/from work, but highway it’s nice -Joe in Montana

Good By F-150, Hello Titan Pro4x

The overall fit and finish of my Nissan Titan Pro4x is outstanding, The Titan just fills better made that the F150 that I traded in on the Pro4x. Everything about the Pro4x has the Big 3 playing catch up. The interior is made with quality products, don't look like everything is snap together plastic parts. Ride comfort and noise level at miles ahead of the Ford F150. Same with driveability and power. My F150 had the 5.0 v8 and The 5.6 v8 has quicker throttle response, pulls harder when you mat the gas, and the Ford F150 (2wd) could not come close to in fuel mileage. I could only get 9.1-9.4 mpg (City) and 12.4-12.9 mpg (Hwy) out the 5.0L F150. So far I'm getting 11.4-11.8 mpg (City) and 17.9-18.7 mpg(Hwy) in the Pro4x. I'll see a big saving in fuel per year and a huge saving over the life of the truck. But the warranty is what really made my mind up. If a car manufacturer is willing to stand behind their product for 100,000 miles bumper to bumper, while it's competitors have 36,000-mile warranties (a couple has 50,000 powertrain) tells me everything I need to know about the quality of the truck. I can't be more happy with my decision to buy a Nissan Titan Pro4x

A little back story, I have had 3 back operations in the past 15 years, Could probably use 1 more. Plus have herniated discs in my neck. By the way I am 66 years old and still working in the construction industry. Until a month ago, I was driving a 1990 Dodge 250 Diesel (which I still own) 2wd loaded down with all of my tools and a compressor. My weekend car is a Lexus460. The Dodge drives pretty well and all of the weight makes it comfortable but it is 30 years old and my wife refuses to ride in it with me so I decided to get finally get a new truck for myself. More than anything ride comfort is a priority. Before I purchased the Titan I spent the better part of a month test driving the various brands on 24 mile route that I cover every working day. I was up front with the sales person at each dealership by letting them know that I was on a mission to get the most comfortable truck for my particular needs. I drove all of the brands both gas and diesel in the 1500 sizes and even the Honda Ridgeline. Quality wise I thought that all of them were more than adequate, But ride wise the Titan won out. I read plenty of reviews and figured that the reviewers must have driven on WAY smoother roads then what we have here in Salt Lake City UT. Chevy and Ford have 2 leaf springs in the back which I thought would make them ride smoother than the Titan but I found them both to be somewhat choppy. To be fair the aforementioned both had 20inch wheels compared to the Titans 18 and that probably figured in the harsh ride. I drove the Dodge 1500 with 4 coil springs and the ride was not any better than the other 2. Probably because the drivers seat to me was as hard as a rock. Next was the Honda, Better than the others but still not as car like as the reviews claim. The price was the same as the Titan but it lacked some of the immeneties. All and all the Titan won out. The ride is not perfect but it just feels good.and my body is not screaming me. The interior is not loaded with every conceivable gadget but it emits a certain amount of class that the others lack. Maybe because it is more simplistic and that 390 hp v8 is an absolute pleasure. Lastly the vehicle is a Certified 2018 with 6k on odometer. With a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty Nissan definitely has more faith in their vehicles than the big 3.

Get yours now before the word gets out. Nissan is selling these truck way below value to get em on the road to compete with the big guys. I buy trucks every 2 years and have had em all. This trucks warranty, looks, price and set up made me give it a try. So far I am pleased. The most comfortable ride of em all and their state of the art noise reduction makes me feel like I'm in a luxury car. The info tanement lacks however is made up by the clarity of the camera and 360 view of the cameras. The sound system is the best of all the trucks and the zero gravity seats are very noticeable. Lastly the 390 hp is noticeable as well. I came from a 2016 f150 w the remarkable v6 EcoBoost engine and this engine makes me not miss it. A great buy w a 5 year 100k mile warranty to back it up. 2 months in and I am so far pleased w passing up on the "big 3" for this beautiful truck.

I bought a 2018 titan platinum reserve gas engine. It has seen more shop time for warranty issues than my 2012 that I just traded in that I put 160k miles on. I don't think I will buy another Nissan again after all of this. One of the struts is already shot on the front at 9k miles, Water valve for the engine coolant is not functioning, Transmission mount broke, Sub woofer box rattles like no other even though they claim to have fixed it, was missing the Mass airflow sensor screws when I first bought it, titan lock boxes in the back the keys don't work for and I have been waiting on that to be replaced for 3 months now, Strut is still on back order by the way and thats been almost 3 weeks now. So at this point I wont buy another Nissan.

Update: Currently have ~85k miles on the truck and no issues for the entire time I’ve owned it. 2018 Pro-4X with premium package, bought it new in Dec of 2018 and got an incredible deal. Lots of features, good power, and great value for what you get. Usually get around 15mpg (mixed city & hwy driving), have gotten as high as 18mpg when all highway driving and as low as 13mpg in stop and go traffic. Would definitely recommend.

I have Owned every brand and type of Pickups of the last 25 years: Ford Ranger, F150, F250, F350 & Sport Trac; Chevy Avalanche & Silverado 1500, and Dodge Dakota & Rams 1500, 2500; GMC Sierra 3500, Honda Ridgeline, Toyota Tacoma and Tundra. I had found annoyances with every truck from day one. GM's cylinder deactivation is my number one annoyance especially when it starts to go wrong. Dodge's cylinder deactivation was less noticeable but still rubbish. I didn't want a new Ford with Start/Stop or worse a 6 Banger with a Turbo. Turbos and I don't get along, F350 PowerStroke woes. The Toyota Tundra was ok but the ride isn't great, the fuel economy is awful and "new" Tundras were exactly the same as my 2012 just more expensive. So what to do? Look at something different. 3/4 ton GMs don't have cylinder deactivation but I don't need to bounce down the highway, test drove 4 different variations, same results. The new Honda Ridgeline is cute but my trailer is too heavy for it. So I looked on the web at Nissan Titans and found that my local (30 miles away) dealer had a few remaining 18's in stock. I really don't like my local Nissan Dealer but it was worth a shot to see what the Titan had to offer and the next Nissan dealer is 90 miles away. I found my Pearl Blue Crew Cab 4x4 Titan sitting in a back lot with a dead battery and a couple inches of dust on it. After we jumpstarted it the salesman said we should take it on an extended to charge the battery. It was the best initial test drive in a truck that I ever had. It fit me like a glove and we drove in town, on county roads, on the highway and up to the local ski resort. I could not believe how well the truck drove compared to the 2015 Chevy that I drove to the dealership in. We got back to the dealership and the next morning I picked up my clean new Pearl Blue Titan. In the last 4 trips of more than 300 miles I have averaged not just by the trucks computer but my calculation as well 20.6 MPG. That's even better than everything including the Ridgeline we owned. Everybody that rides in cannot believe how quiet it is and how nice it rides, though still not quite my Jaguar XJ. I hope to get many miles out of the Titan and if you are wondering, yes we do drive a lot. The lowest mileage on any of the trucks at trade in was 78,000 and the highest was 295,000. Most were traded in at 175,000.

Bad paint, horrible engine

Second Update: my truck now has 82,000 miles on it, I continue to have issues with carbon building up on the intake valved causing significant loss of power, despite having installed a catch can back at 40,000 miles. If you are thinking of purchasing a titan with the direct injection engine in it I beg you not to!! Save yourself the heartache I've been thru and buy an F150 with it's tried and true 5.0 V8 which is not direct injection. I will be selling this truck ASAP as soon as I can get some more money saved up to cover the higher cost of a better truck. And this is coming from the point of view of someone who is an experienced mechanic! Update: my Titan now has 69,000 miles on it and to be blunt I wish I had never bought it, huge buyers remorse. The paint chips continue to worsen on the hood as well as now on the roof. The ones on the roof are now rusting. The engine is horrible. I have had to remove the intake manifold and clean the intake valves 4 times now because of heavy buildup of carbon deposits due to the direct injection design of the engine in this truck. Thank goodness I'm an aviation mechanic and can do this myself, I pity anyone who does not have the ability to do this themselves. Unfortunately there is no fix to this problem. The brakes have warped badly and make the truck shudder every time I stop. The dash continues to have a bad rattle due to the flimsy way it is secured. I can confidently say I will NEVER own another Nissan vehicle ever again. I had friends who were previous Nissan owners who tried to talk me out of buying a Nissan and I regret not listening to them. Do not buy a vehicle with a direct injection only engine!! Both Ford and Toyota learned the hard way and have changed their fuel injection system to a dual injection system - part of the time it is port injection to keep the valves clean and the other part of the time it is direct injection for better fuel economy. If vehicle prices weren't so crazy right now I would have gotten rid of this POS months ago! I bought my Titan with 9,000 miles on it. When I first got it the acceleration was amazing! I was coming from a 2015 F250 with the 6.2 gas engine so my Titan felt like a rocket ship compared to my Ford. I now have 44,000 on it and there are several dislikes now. One is the paint, it is definitely not very durable and scratches very easily. I frequently lean against the side of the bed to secure my four wheeler in the bed and there are numerous scratches in the paint where I leaned up against it and only had on a cotton shirt. My Ford never scratched like this. The amount of rock dings in the front hood for only having 44,000 miles on it is horrible. All the dings are from highway driving. My Ford had significantly less chips in the paint on the hood when I sold it with 120,000 miles on it. Not happy at all with the cheap paint of the Titan. Another dislike is the loss of acceleration power. The truck definitely is not as fast as it was when I bought it. I am suspecting this is because of the direct injection fuel system and I suspect that the intake valves are getting coked with carbon as all direct injection engines do. I will be pulling off the intake manifold soon to investigate this and if coked up will have to blast clean the valves with a pecan shell blaster. If your Titan is losing power do a search online for direct injection intake valve carbon buildup. On the plus side I do a lot of highway commuting and the highway gas mileage for a V8 has been very good. However, I used to avg 19 to 20 on the highway, its now down to 17 to 18. Again I suspect my mileage loss is due to to the suspected carbon buildup on the intake valves. The dash has a rattle in it where the dash meets the windshield, I will need to put some foam on the edge to stop the rattle. Never had a single rattle in my F250. The leather seats have held up well, A/C is still very cold in summer. The OEM General Grabber HTS tires are done at 44,000 miles....now hydroplaning badly in wet weather. I have driven my truck several times down a dirt road for hunting and the ride is very smooth compared to my F250. The transmission when new felt very erratic but has calmed down now and shifts very smoothly. I've made several 6 hour drives deer hunting with it with a 650 lb four wheeler in the bed and it handles the drive very well, the added weight is only slightly noticeable. Overall other than the paint and the loss of power it's been a good truck. I can't say I love it like my Ford...wish I had held onto my F250....that was a real truck in my opinion.

Owned and built-up a number of the Big 3 trucks (Dodge/Ram/Chevy) along with a Toyota Tundra and many Jeeps and SUVs (Google "Desert Dawg") but never owned/built a Nissan Titan. My last Nissan was wife's 2007 Murano which gave us quality/reliability fits after 65K miles with lousy dealer service so swore I would never own another Nissan. Started a new company this past year and needed some company trucks, so my partner searched and settled upon a brand new 2018 Titan 4x4 (Midnight Edition). After driving around in it for a while, I became impressed with the ride, power, and apparent quality so went to take a look myself. Found a brand new white two-tone PRO 4X on the lot with the Luxury Package (so has a lot of the upgrades from the Platinum Reserve) and loved it. The pricing was a lot more competitive than the Ford, Toyota, or Ram trucks I was seriously considering so I went for it (not a fan of the new Chevy/GMC versions yet). I also had the dealer install an upgraded Icon Suspension 3-inch coil lift for my off-road adventures along with larger, beefier Nitto Ridge Grappler tires and Magnaflow exhaust system all under warranty. Also added a rolling tonneau cover and power side steps. The truck looks and performs great! So far, not a squeak or issue and everyone comments on the quiet, smooth ride despite my off-road biased modifications. Add in the factory warranty coverage, this truck surely is the value leader; tremendous Bumper-to-Bumper, 60 mo/100,000 mi factory warranty, great revy engine, responsive steering, better [observed] mileage than past vehicles, very comfortable front seats with one of the better factory stereo systems offered (with the Fosgate Rockford system), lots of functional and comfort amenities (with PRO Luxury Package), and very good looking in two-tone configuration. Also, love the locking under-seat storage that folds out to provide an even, flat floor! Even the factory black-machined PRO wheels look great. Downsides (?); sort of looks like past iterations of the F150 with borrowed design elements inside and out (although not totally a bad thing), infotainment system is very effective but with smaller screen and outdated graphics (not a tech geek myself so no issues as everything works but the 3D camera is definitely cool), smaller switchgear (cooled seats buttons kind hard to see), and very limited aftermarket offerings (almost impossible to add off-road lights to front end unless you want to block air flow through lower front bumper opening - not ideal). Another initial downside was the lack of center console mounted shifter that my F150s and Tundra had, but the large up-down shift buttons on the stalk are actually quite accessible and comfortable since you keep your hands on the steering wheels while resting your arm on the padded center console cover. Overall, the new Titan is definitely worth the consideration as I am personally thoroughly enjoying this truck and its inherent value. Now if I can just mount those off-road lights.

Shopped all half tons. Owned most over the years. I’m not brand loyal. After a test drive I wasn’t sold but kept going back finally bought the PR over the weekend. Love the ride and refinement. Only 500 miles so far but I’m optimistic. I’ll keep you posted.

The truck seemed amazing, Nissan seemed great, but after 1 year of having this truck I noticed so much rust starting to happen and I took such great care of it ! I also had paid extra for rust protection from Nissan which … I don’t think they did properly.. my heated seats don’t warm up much at all… my Screen sometimes wouldn’t turn on when I started up the truck… it was a great truck but for having it for 3 years too many problems were happening… water was also leaking in from the windows when it rained or snowed, I was worried more and more Things were going to happen so I got rid of it !

No problems, just wanted a new vehicle. I have had my Titan 3 years now, 27,000 miles and everything is still the same. It is a pleasure to drive, it is quiet and fast if needed. The Platinum package is very well equipped. The bird's eye view is fantastic. It is comfortable and priced better that a Ford or GM.

Having driven small 4x4 trucks for a long time, I decided last September 2018 to buy a 2018 Nissan Titan SV 4x4. The 4x4 Nissan truck was bought at Nissan Elizabeth City NC. Hal who is the sales manager was the person who sold the vehicle to me. I have no regrets. Truck has 37,000 high way miles and averages if not towing 18-21 miles per gallon. Awe sum truck, super service, great price!

Purchased this truck almost by accident. Was actually looking at Silverado and F150, and stumbled upon a great deal on the Titan SV. So much nicer than the equivalent priced competition. I bought a 2 wheel drive and get around 18 mpg in my local commute and 22 on strict hwy at 65mph. It does seem like folks with 4wd get a good bit less. Overall my family and I love this truck.

I have had a GMC, 2500 and Ram diesel 2500. The Titan XD Pro4X gas, is definitely a great truck for a great price. For towing 10,000 lb, it is ample. I looked at it because of gret discounts ( brand loyalty to the big 3 makes it an outlier) so for a$10,000 discount, why not? It is way nicer than an F150.

Poor Quality Truck - Always broken down

2018 Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve 4dr Crew Cab SB (5.6L 8cyl 7A)

The Nissan Titan is very elegant, comfortable, and smooth to operate. That is where the good comments end. The Titan with the 5.6l V8 is rated to tow right around 9600 lbs as per Nissan. On every occasion that we have towed with this truck, the check engine light would turn on, displaying many codes at once. The light would also come on during normal driving, having at times BOTH a lean, and rich code. Something our mechanic never encountered. Moving on to powertrain, the transmission lines rust after only 6 years on the road and cause all of the fluid to leak out the transmission. Not to mention that exhaust components rust prematurely as well. Thankfully this was noticed in the driveway. Parts on backorder for 4 months from Nissan. Safe to say that we have got rid of this vehicle, after our mechanic was able to do a temporary fix. Nissan, do better.

**First Gas mileage is HORRIBLE! Pro-4s is a non EPA rated but should be getting 15C - 21H, I get 10C w/ regular gas and 13.6 w/ Premium no where near what is noted out there. "No I do not have a lead foot so want to make sure that is noted", also there is a hesitation / lag when there is extra power needed when passing on the highway.. This has been noted on both engine side & transmission reactive response, confirmed with other owners when I come across another unit similar to mine. **Navigation system outright, there is no support and years out of date, I own a 2018 Pro-4x with a Nav sys maps that will not show where I live (4 year old community) or show some roads where I work that have been there since the 80's (Premium price for outdated content / un-maintened). **2019 unit now has 2 usb ports on which you loose a cigarette lighter port, why not just keep the 2 cigarette ports and just add another usb on the same insert? Cigarette lighter ports have longer life and added usability vs the 2019 build option. **Gas tank design, so the tank air outlet is behind the large circular steel pressed O - the OEM tank has the capability of accepting more fuel than what is noted of 26 gallon but due to the air outlet & design of the tank it has a hard time letting the air escape out of the gas tank / breathing on which when you are filling up at the gas station makes a winning whistle noise.. **Dealership experience has been everything else but great or customer retaining, Nissan Customer relations / Escalation service is a waist of time (Not even sure why the department exists). **Nissan should really increase Quality Control at factory - I see units coming right off the transport truck with tiny bubbles in the paint or sand, wheel weld fenders nicked or gouged & under paint / primer paint visible from the finish paint - that is just BAD.

I dont know what the "pro" reviewers are talking about or what truck they test drove but the Titan is awesome !! The most quiet, best looking, best sounding power V8 truck I have ever owned. All at prices and warranty that cant be beat. If you plan to tow 10,000# plus trailers then you need to buy a real HD/Super duty possibly with a diesel from the Big 3. Otherwise the Titan half ton is fabulous all around truck. 8/15/20 update: I am totally amazed by this truck. It is very impressive! Do yourself a favor and test drive it before you buy.

****Update- Engine will not start every so often. Sometimes in works fine- randomly will not start. Alternator light sometimes comes on, other times nothing. Since Nissan said they cannot duplicate, they said there is nothing they can do. They asked me to take a video of the issue, then they said the video would not help. You do what is asked by them and they still don’t help. Worst vehicle I have purchased. Cannot imagine I am the only one with this issue. Bought my Titan new. Right away had issues with the steering column. Defective paint. Wheel starting shaking when driving like low pressure in tires. Then it randomly will not start. Nissan said there is nothing wrong and refused to do anything- they say there is nothing wrong with the truck. Buyer beware.

Best Truck I Have Ever Owned

Writing a review after owning for 28 months now. 2018 PRO 4X creeping up on 45K hard miles. I have worked this truck more then any other vehicle I have owned. I tow a camper routinely along with daily driving and weekend duties maintaining my property. She has hauled tons and tons of gravel, rocks, pavers, concrete and equipment. She had several small issues pop up during her first year on the road like front grill and hood not aligned properly allowing water to get into the engine bay, sluggish shifting, and timing chain cover leak. Issues fixed under warranty and have not experienced any other problems. When hauling our camper she gets 8.5 mpg but unloaded she consistently averages slightly above 18mpg. In my opinion pretty good for a 4x4 truck. She was our only vehicle after my wife was in a horrific car accident and was putting over 2.5k miles a month on her for 6 months taking on all the duties that a 2 car family used to do. She never let us down. I grew up only owning Chevrolet’s but they are now way to proud of their trucks. For what I got with the Titan in regards to options far exceeds to what Chevrolet offers in the price range. I really believe it is a better built truck costing several thousands less then a big 3 competitor.

18 pro4x extra cab. I love this truck. Is now 2025 and this truck still looks better than anything built today. I've owned all the brands and this is just as good as the rest. Doesn't squat when I pull my trailer like the Ram did. Had to put air bags that rig. Doesn't down shift as often either. I really love the extra cab compared to the crew cabs. I get a full 6' bed and less length still fitting five adults if needed. It plows snow great with a Western rig on it. Had to install a leveling kit to raise front enough to clear brackets for curb at driveway but that's only for the plow. Plus it makes the truck look great! Only problems were the recalled cylinders which put a new warranty engine in at 32K miles. They all have their issues but this has been one solid truck. The only reason these rank lower in ratings is because Max limits are less than competitors by a couple percentage points. Real world says suspension, engine and trans actually perform equal to our better.

Not worth the money

It's a good thing it has a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, the truck is definitely not made for a big or tall person, no leg room, no head room and long rides are uncomfortable, also the steering wheel is too small

This is my second Titan. Bought a 2018 SL in 2019, then we moved 3 years later and with the used car market price increases I sold it. Missed that Titan SL so much I went and bought another 2018 Pro 4x 7 months later now that car prices are declining. Titans are great trucks. Super dependable. Highly recommend. I know the product of Nissan, extremely reliable. We still have a 20 year old Nissan Pathfinder still going at 190,000 mi with no problems. I know this Titan pro 4x will be with us for a long time. Keep up the great work Nissan.

Bought new in 2018 and has never been in the shop. No issues at all.
