CVT works well. Excellent mileage in ECON mode. Maintenance is relatively inexpensive, an excellent value thus far.

I did not like this car at first but I leased it at a great price. Bought it out after 2 years and I am at 110,000 miles and have not had 1 issue yet. Handling in is good and it is roomy enough and comfortable. The only complaint is that it is slow especially on take off. Other than that I'm not crying about it.

I’ve had this car for about two years now, and I haven’t had a single problem with it. CVT is working as expected. Decent gas mileage. A roomy interior with seats that don’t make your butt fall asleep. Great car so far!

We purchased it because we couldn't find the Toyota we wanted. It was a mistake. Their warrantee will be voiced for almost anything. ie if you don't get the oil changed on their schedule BUT some of them say change it every 3500 miles some say every 5000 miles. If you choose incorrectly your warrantee is voided. After one day, we took it in because the brakes were spongy and made a slight noise when stopping. They said nothing was wrong with them. We said we wanted to return it, and they refused. A Toyota corolla for approximately $1000 more has everything the Sentra has. To have the safety features that the Corolla has would cost $4000 more.

This is my first car and I am absolutely in love! Don Cleaver and Advantage Nissan in Bremerton, WA helped me choose this car and for a first car I think that they have done very well!

Have owned my 2017 Nissan Sentra Sr Turbo for a little over 2 years. Have been across the country and a couple of times without any issues. Great fuel mileage and a decent amount of power. Ride is not exactly smooth but it is a compact car so I didn't expect one. I have the CVT transmission and have had no problems out of it. The key to a long lasting CVT is frequent transmission flushes. Nissan recommends every 40,000 but a Nissan tech told me he recommends every 25,000 if it is your daily and you do a lot city driving. I do mine every 25,000.

peppy, practical, efficient, tuneable

I've owned a SR Turbo 6MT for a little over a year now. The car is not made to compete with the likes of the WRX, GTI, Focus ST crowd... as I have heard others compare it to. Think of this as the older Lancer Rally Art edition, or the Civic sport. Some nice sporty touches with a little extra oompf. It has enough power to keep you looking to rev it out. However the handling reminds you it is still a Sentra. The interior does have a cheaper feel, and the seats are not very comfortable. The audio system sounds like one of an entry level car. The blue accents are strange considering they are standard no matter what color the exterior is. (Red exterior with blue trim interior??) The sunroof and heated seats are nice standard upgrades over the base. I myself have owned a number of "modified" cars. So I thought this Sentra Turbo was a good starting point for the money and a practical car to suit my needs as a commuter/get the kids from school vehicle. I sought to improve on what I thought Nissan provided as a good base for a tuner car... A zesty turbocharged engine with a manual transmission. I would have loved for a limited slip differential, larger sway bars and a lower ride height. But there is always aftermarket support. After installing a performance intake, exhaust and diverter valve, the car is now lively and much more fun to drive. I often surprise people when i run through the gears and the turbo noises make themselves known. I purchased this car used with 25k miles for $17k. This was during the height of Covid, so car prices were very much at a premium. It would have likely sold for around 14-15k otherwise. It does get excellent fuel economy. I recorded 44mpg as a high mark using Sport mode, some occasional spirited driving and having no concerns with saving fuel during that trip. I drive the car hard and my average is about 29mpg using Sport mode every trip. This generation of Sentra will be the last Nissan ever made with a manual transmission option. That, mated with a factory turbo, I felt this car will some day be a rare gem in a field of forgotten compact cars. Reliability has been ok. The only thing needing replacement besides wear and tear items was an intake manifold. Luckily this was covered under emissions warranty. After having driven about 40k miles in the car, i like it. Living in the Northeast, there are GTI's, GLI's, Focus ST's and modded Hondas everywhere. Its not the fastest, its not the prettiest, its not the most comfortable. But its unique, fun to drive, fuel efficient and reliable. i cant pick 3.5 stars, but that is my rating.

Good car to ride the Nissan Sentra 2017. My lease ends in May so I’m going to go get another Sentra, this time a 2020. I have about 31,000 on this car and just haven’t had any issues. Good to ride in the snow, this turbo so the pick up is better as well. I look forward to leasing another Sentra soon.

I've had this 2017 for a couple of years now. let me start by saying it isn't all bad. I'm not gonna talk about the CVT or any of that. you know that's bad. I didn't get the touchscreen, the head unit I did get was the base model and it's been nothing but trouble. it always connects to the wrong phone for Bluetooth. basically whichever one you didn't want it to connect to is what you're getting (after the obligatory 5 minute wait while it remembers what Bluetooth is.) oh but it gets better once it's connected it won't stop reconnecting even if you don't want it to. you have to shut Bluetooth off entirely even worse once you've shut the car off you have to wait 10 minutes before it will stop connecting to your phone (even with the car off and the radio off.) even if you want to connect your earbuds it will keep forcibly reconnecting every 30 seconds. this car goes out of its to annoy me. the interior itself is cheap and you can tell. everything feels like it could break at any moment. on long trips if you want to take a nap in the back you can forget about that because the hard plastic will make you miserable. if you don't get the alloy rims you'll regret that pretty quickly. the wheel covers will be broken off within a month... seriously they were all gone or cracked by the end of the month.

I purchased this car about a year ago and it’s been awesome many people have warned me about the CVT but the cars performance is phenomenal I haven’t had any issues and I have the model with all the features it has to be the safest car I have ever driven. The sensors are my favorite part they have saved me from idiot drivers on the highway.

I actually really like my Nissan…

Now I don’t know a whole lot about cars but I do like my Nissan. We’ve grown quite close over the years. GREAT gas mileage, currently 33 mpg, and does great on the roads. But, does not handle the best in winter, granted I should give it a shot with actual winter tires… Haven’t had any major fixes come up. I don’t have a lot to compare this to but it’s the best car I’ve driven in my short life thus far.

With all the stated problems of the CVT Transmission, I did the necessary maintenance changing the CVT Fluid myself every 30,000 miles I am proud to say I have 130,000 miles on the car and get many compliments on how well maintained it looks.
