I hate this car. I have had starter problems with it from the start. Nissan says they don't see a problem. I go to start it this morning, and it didn't start. The car is really tight. I got this before I had a baby, and now his car seat barely fits in the back. The passenger has to sit in the dashboard (which is very dangerous). I don't find this car safe at all. Plus, it barely holds the stoller in the trunk. I have no room for groceries. And my gears seem to stick when I take it from Park to Drive. This car is nothing but a problem. Seems too cheap.

I way overpaid for a 2004 in 2005, my fault for being in a hurry. Car only had 10500 on it. Have replaced the serpentine belt and both drive belts, the front brakes. The interior looked good when I bought it but the old stains the dealer tried to hide came back - like did they spill a gallon of coffee in the back seat or what? I hold my breath every time I drive it and cannot wait to get a new car.

Purchase new as economical transportation. Owned Nissans in the past with much luck. However this vehicle will make me reconsider purchase of product in the future. Poor reliability - have invested more in repairs on this vehicle than my 93 Nissan pick-up.

I got this 2004 Nissan Sentra se and I’ve had nothing but problems first week I broke down about 12 times and figured out it was the radiator fan so I replaced that then the motor went bad replaced that then the wire went bad to the radiator since then I’ve replaced mass air flow sensor, coil packs, spark plugs, camshaft positioning sensor, throttle body and it still won’t run for a long time. I’ll go down the road and out of no where the rpms will sky rocket and then the car will die

Nissan should have recalled the 2004 Models. I went thru to cats because of a design flaw that created back pressure that cause early and my first ever engine wear. I had to add oil to the engine every 500 miles, 2quarts untill it went out. I didnt want a new car so I had a altima engine put into it. We left the Cat out after the 3rd time it needed to be replaced before the engine swap. Ive been spray painting the rusted cheap crap metal of the car ever since I bought it 4 years ago. Salt Lake Nissan ripped me off on that car. Its been nothing but repairs on that car. Way over priced. Terrible fuel economy. Great road handling, great tranny. Stereo is ok. If your willing to sink 10k in repairs in 4 years. Buy it. I will never own another nissan. Never. Not even a free 1.

I had an 04 ser spec v nismo and it was the most fun ever. Sounded great, it was fast, and i got it for $2,500 at 124k miles. It never had any problems and i didn't realize how rare they are. Unfortunately some psycho lady keyed it after walking into the middle of a parking lot with her kid from behind some cars that i couldn't see them coming and cussed at me. I was 19 and felt it was her fault so naturally i cussed back at her. Oh well she was weak so you couldn't even notice until you looked closely. I miss that car.

Bought used and abused a few years ago in GA. Fixed all flaws and mechanical problems. It’s fun to drive, “ zoomy” quick, stops great with 4 disks, pretty good mileage if I drive conservatively (I don’t), and big enough for me.

This is the first manual car and the only manual car that I've ever driven. For the most part it has been a really reliable car. It now has 160K + miles on it and it is starting to have issues. The paint has gone down the tubes, the check engine light is on & I've replaced the spark plugs & wires, the crank sensor, throttle position sensor, the windshield fluid reservoir and a few other things including the stereo because it went out. I'm not sure what's causing the check engine light to be on now, but I'm guessing it is just getting tired because it is 18 years old. Up until recently like I said before it has been a wonderful reliable car. It isn't really the ideal car for someone who has never driven a manual before but it was my first and my only and I've had it since 2014 and the clutch is still going strong so that shows it is a really tough car! :)

Nice Ride

What can I say, it's a nice ride. I live in NYC and I commute about 100 miles a day and this car is great on the highway but not so much on fuel. Little disappointed there. Fun to drive on the highway, not so much on the NYC streets. The potholes are a killer. No time to enjoy the ride. Too much shifting only to slam on the brakes for red lights and taxi cabs. Takes a little time to warm up. I love the shifting but can be hard at times. Great to drive in the mountains. Stiff ride in the city streets and sometimes to highway. Girlfriend complains of the stiff ride but I don't mind. Look for a car that gets better gas mileage. Look at the SE 2.0 liter. Better ride and gas mileage.

After looking at many cars (including the SVT Focus, Neon SRT-4, and Nissan Altima, I decided on the one I had my eye on from the beginning. Performance is great, you can launch from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and still has good pickup in 4th,5th,&6th. Comfort is nice, I like the bucket seats, some might not. Fuel economy - AC blasting, I got 31 MPG going 450 miles.
