Recently we leased a 2020 Rogue Sport SV and so far we are very happy with our decision. The trunk space is very good, rides well, seats are comfortable and overall a very good SUV

Unreliable

Bought the car in July. In August, the collision warning light came on every morning with no object near the car (and therefore the automatic breaking system engaged). The dealership replaced the "faulty" sensor (it took 6 weeks to get the part). Next day, the collision warning sensor came on: took it back to the dealership. Diagnosis: faulty sensor...Ordered a replacement for the replacement. It arrived in 2 weeks. The new sensor was installed: next day, collision warning comes on. I have not gone back to the dealership yet (it's the weekend) but I have a fairly good idea of what the problem will be. Keep in mind that when the collision warning system engages, the car breaks on its own. Also grossly underpowered, jerky transmission (CVT) and car accelerate/decelerate randomly. Definitely my last Nissan. Asides from the faulty sensor, the gas mileage is great (except when the faulty sensor engages: gas consumption falls to 14 miles per gallon). I do not recommend this car. This brand new car has been in the shop 3 times for repair (it's not even due for service: current odometer reads 2900 miles). Nissan Connect app does not work and Android auto is sketchy at best (connectivity issue). Skip this one.

Sticking Accelerator pedal

Fran Rubal, 03/30/2021

Twice within 3 months the accelerator pedal on my Rouge sport has stuck. The only way to slow the engine from accelerating was to place the transmission in neutral and pump the brakes. After a quarter mile there was a noise like a spring popping and the vehicle slowed down and I was able to stop. The dealer says they could not find anything wrong. Are there others out there with this issue?

I just bought my SV AWD Rogue Sport 3 days ago. The gas mileage is amazing and it has quite the pep for the small engine. I think it drives smooth and is comfortable, though I haven’t taken it on a long trip just yet. I got the version with heated seats/steering wheel which I’m looking forward to this winter. My aunt has had three of these (leases them) and recently bought a new one because she loves them so much. No issues for her. We have matching red Rogues!

Multiple Malfunctioning Safety System

I bought a brand new 2020 Rogue sport in August (happy Birthday to me) not quite. Started getting front end collision malfunction warning almost immediately. Took to dealer and they gave me a list of warnings and malfunctions that went off prior to my purchase with no explanation. The had No idea what to do about the malfunction which has now turned into 3 malfunctions with front end collision, lane departure and steering assist. These are not just warnings but malfunctions with what could be a life threatening system. The dealer ordered a part that has been on order since Oct of 2020...it’s now mid Jan. Contacted Nissan consumer affairs due to it being a malfunction and I don’t want this faulty feature happening to other consumers. Maybe needs a recall (if they could get the part). This is my second Nissan and no problem with my 1st Rogue. May not choose Nissan again. There are several smaller things like no digital speedometer, having to turn on the feature for lane departure and steering assist (not an automatic feature, the gear shift easily slips into manual transmission if you just bump the gear shifter. Love the look of the car, the interior is upscale, heated wheel and seats, special rims, rear cargo space is decent. Rides good and fair fuel efficiency. Follow up ultimately the car was repaired then deemed a lemon by Nissan.

MY CAR SOUNDS LIKE BB8

Overall I like my Rouge Sport, however the truck area is smaller. For 5 months now I'm also having electric issues. Anytime I take a wide or banked curve, hit a speedbump, pr anything less than a flat road LOL the doors lock and unlock, the dome lights go on and off, the dash display shows that 1 or more doors are opening and closing and a lovely annoying beep beep beep while your driving. Its madding to listen to. The problem has been addressed 3 times. two times nothing, the last time they had my car 2 weeks and replaced 2 sensors still happening. I'm bringing my car to the third Nissan dealership near me. I swear its not fixed this time I'm going to trade it in.

I love this car. It handles amazingly! The safety features help me so much in heavy traffic. The creamy leather interior is perfect. It makes me feel like a better host when others ride with me!

Bought the SL two days ago

I really like my new Rogue Sport. I have no issues merging into traffic on the interstate. It is roomy and the features are really nice. It rides good even with the bigger tires. I bought the SL premium edition AWD. I like the added features that came with the SL. I have the white one with light gray interior. I am a little concerned about the light color seats but it is just me and I take care of my cars. As of right now my only complete is fastening the seat belt. It is winter and I am wearing a bulking coat so that could be part of it. I traded in my 2016 SE Ford Escape with Eco Boost. I was not happy with the eco boost in the Ford, it could be flaky at times.
