CVT Software Glitch Results In Drivetrains Replacement. .
When I bought the 2013 Pathfinders, like any new owner I was thrilled. . Unfortunately there were a few things that I id not understand. So when my pathfinder began shuttering and shaking at 900 miles, I contacted customer service who referred me to the local dealership, who with all of there up-to-date computer diagnostic could not fit the problem. Fortunately, Nissan already understood the problem before I bought the car. "Faulty Software & the Service Campaign" Whereby the owner brings in the vehicle multiple times exhibiting the same problem, and nissan replaces the entire drivetrain. Thats right. . Faulty software that can not be changed, that ends up damaging the CVT on its own. .
Safety issues
Currently having problems with my 2013 pathfinder. The car was decelerating on its own and experienced loss of speed. It dropped from like 50-60 mph to below 20 mph, then went back up then slowed down again. I had my the gas down to the floor and it would not go beyond 20 mph. Then suddenly it would go fast again. I called my dealership while I was driving, they advised me to bring. I said I am almost home and then I would have my husband take it. However, it did it again while I was an intersection scaring me to death. I parked at a gas station , my husband came and decided to drive it to the dealership which was about 10 miles away. He checked it in the parking lot and it was running fine he said. Well, same thing happened to him after about a couple of miles but he made it to the dealership safely going really slow. It took the dealership 5 days before checking it and 2 days ago told us they could not duplicate the problem, or find a code. I complained to the manager about it and he says he checked it as well but no problem. I called Nissan corporate and they just got back to me today and they would not fix it. They denied that this car had any complaints like mine. They told me since it could not be duplicated there is nothing to fix. Well, I just checked online and a lot of people have the same complains. In fact, there is a class action lawsuit about 2013-2014 pathfinder transmissions. I am going to tell everybody I know about this problem! DO NOT BUY NISSAN! I forgot to mention that airbag recall, mine has been reprogrammed the 3rd time because of problems!

My 2013 Nissan pathfinder has had transmission problems for months and I have repeatedly given Nissan the opportunity to fix it and have had the transmission replaced once. Yesterday it stalled in the middle of an intersection with traffic coming in both directions and my two children in the car. I will not drive this car again. I paid $43,000 for a car I am afraid to drive or put my children in. Nissan needs to correct these problems and stop putting people at risk.
Transmission Issues
We bought our '13 Pathfinder SL 4WD in August of 2013. Within two months we started to feel the CVT Transmission shuddering under light throttle applications. We had the car in the shop four times for this issue, but they could never replicate the problem. After the shuddering started to become progressively worse and became a safety concern, we finally asked the dealer to buy the car back for the balance of our loan. Happily, they agreed, and we were given $6000 more than the Kelly Blue Book trade value. Other than the transmission issue, the car was very nice. It rode great and got very good MPG for a mid-sized CUV ....
Nissan Fan Turned Sour on Quality
"I was a big fan of the Nissan product having owned a 2010 maxima, I was very disappointed in the quality of the 2013 Pathfinder. Within the first month I have had front headlight burn out, leaking windows, Parking sensor warning lights and more importantly transmission issues with the newly designed CVT, producing rumbling noises and providing sluggish performance/delays at low to mid city driving speeds. Dealer will not take the SUV back as they claim that it would be considered a defective product and could not sell it. Kind of funny as Nissan had no issue selling me a defective product in the first place. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE...AT LEAST 2013 YEAR!
Good car but Nissan cheaps out on cross bars and CD player
After nearly 700 miles in 10 days, I'm getting 24 mpg combined mileage and 27.5 on the highway, a little better than promised by Nissan. Pathfinder is comfortable after trading in a Ray-4 with 98,000 miles on it.
MY Wife and I really love this car! Purchased 2 months ago!
For those complaining about the lack of multi disc changer in the Platinum edition... It replaces the cd changer with a dvd player which means that you can watch dvd's on the main screen when in park. You also can put all of your music from your computer onto a dvd and listen to 100 times the music of a regular audio cd. My wife decided to get a 16gb usb drive ($10) to put all of her music onto and plugs into the port in console. On top of that you can stream bluetooth audio. We traded in a Honda Pilot and are very impressed with the improvement in handling, interior quality and gas mileage.
Do not buy this vehicle!!!
I read some negative reviews on this car. But I figured most people who review cars have probably had a bad experience, and were not the majority. I guess I learned a hard lesson. We bought the car 23 days ago. It has been in the service department for 16 of those days. It has broke down 3 times and had to be towed back in. The last week it was in the shop they had no answers for us. Today they informed us the are ordering a new engine control unit. I am not typically a complainer, but this has been beyond frustrating. The dealership (Nissan Uftring in Peoria) have been terrible communicators. My wish is they would just buy the car back. Unfortunately I don't think that is going to happen.
CVT problem Nissan won't fix
Had problems with the CVT from almost the start. Had severe juddering or shaking at certain speeds consistently and RPM revs at highway speeds with deceleration. Had in numerous times with nearly no support. They would keep my car for extended periods of time with no loaner only to say they couldn't detect juddering. Funny I could make it happen without any effort. Finally with little warranty left I traded it in. Will never buy a Nissan again. Too bad because everything else about the car I loved. Wish they owned up to their problems.

Transmission issues hardcore
At first I loved my pathfinder it was the truest of love, the kind you hear about In romance novels, but unfortantly that changed pretty early out of the gate. My first negative experience happened 18,000 miles in when my wife pulled out into on-comming traffic on a busy street. The pathfinder began to shake very badly and I woke from sleeping in the passenger seat and jumped up and said" what the hell did you hit!" She said "nothing "she didn't hit anything and so after she avoided being rear ended for lack of power to the wheels and learching back and forth. I said pull over I've gotta see the bumper to make sure you didn't hit anything. Got out of the car nothing wrong with the bumper all the tires were aired up and everything looked good. So I said "let me drive this thing home" and she obliged. Got in drove another mile towards the house and same thing it was like hitting masonry blocks in the roadway one after another at 40mph. Scared the crap out of me. I limped the vehicle back to the house at 12 mph for a few miles I parked it right there in the drive way called a tow truck and had it towed to the dealership. The next week they replaced the transmission under warranty. The funny thing is the service advisors act like they've never seen pathfinders with transmission failures. There were more than a few in the working bay lifted up having cvt replacements. See those guys are trained to act like the pathfinder cvt failures aren't an epidemic but I'm not stupid do your research people ! I've had two cvt replacements in 40,000 miles and it's not my wife's driving she drives like an old lady.the service advisor will say "well our cvt fluid needs to be changed at 30,000 miles! Well I only made it to 18,000 miles before the complete cvt failure how do you explain that? These transmission problems will surely cause more than a few accidents in the future and sadly probably a couple of deaths on the roadway Nissan you need to admit to the problem and fix it permanently or prepare yourselves for many many law suits in the future. At very least consumers need more peace of mind with an extended powertrain warranty extension. I don't wanna even mention interior quality issues 2nd row seating latch breaking off rattling roof rails shaky hood flutter at highway speeds and all the other numerous little problems I've encountered in my 42,000 miles since purchase. Because simply put I'm concerned about the safety of my family first and formost and I can look past cheap build parts but I can't look past these trannys problems!! My two toddlers ride in this car everyday. Do yourself a favor and get a highlander or 4runner save a ton of headaches!!

Great vehicle
We purchased a platinum premium about a week ago...After going with the intentions of buying the Infiniti JX we decided to drive the Pathfinder and actually like the drive and ride of it better. On top of that it saved us $10,000 compared to the JX, now we realize there are some options you cant get on the Pathfinder that the JX has but we could not justify the $10k difference...also its avg 22 mpg around town on the first tank!!!
Transmission Problems with no fix
I purchased my 2013 Pathfinder in Nov of 2012, it began having the "shudder" fairly shortly after but I didn't acknowledge it for a while. As it continued to worsen, I brought it to the dealers attention. I was told they were aware but did not have a fix for it. I continued to mention it every time I brought the car in for service. I was finally told to call Nissan which is a joke. They sent me back to the dealer who has told me that for their protection they must be very careful with how they handle it. What about the $45,000 I spent. Where is my protection? I am considering hiring a lawyer....
2013 Pathfinder review after 2 weeks of driving
Traded in acura mdx for something more affordable. I was pleasantly surprised with many of the features on the SL as listed in my fav features section. It drives and feels very similar to our 2004 acura mdx and has plenty of room in the 2nd and 3rd rows. Decent power and acceleration with good mileage (after 2 weeks i'm getting 20.1mpg average though). Overall you get great value for price paid.
DON'T BUY THE PATHFINDER
I bought my 2013 Pathfinder on April 19 and have just put 1000 miles on it. Since buying it it has shuddered at least a half a dozen times. The shudder lasts for about 2 to 3 seconds usually while trying to accelerate from a slow roll. The car has no power while the shudder is going on. Very Dangerous! I brought the car to the dealer and they told me that Nissan is aware of the problem and that it can take approximately 2 weeks to 2 months for Nissan to come up with a solution. I told the dealer that the car is unsafe to drive. They told me that Nissan told them that the car is safe to drive and that I need to Âfloor the gas pedal when accelerating to bypass the shudder issue.
Don't buy!
My husband and I bought a 2013 Pathfinder 3 weeks ago and our vehicle has been in the shop twice! First time Feb. 6th due to our vehicle jerking back and forth while we were driving with our kids in the vehicle. At first Nissan said they couldn't figure out whats wrong then they said it was a sensor and it was fixed. My kids and I have been sick so we didn't drive the car again until Feb. 10th in which the vehicle again was jerking back and forth and now making a very loud knocking sound. Took the vehicle again to Nissan today (Feb. 11th) and it has been there since 9:30 a.m. just to be told "we don't see anything wrong with it" 6 hours later ..... Never again will I buy NISSAN!
First week impression
I have had an SL 4x4 for about a week, and I am happy with my decision. I had a loaded Enclave prior and turned it in early because of poor gas milage, around 15 mpg. So far I am around 22 mpg with the Pathfinder. The front seats are comfortable and roomy. The 2nd row holds 3 vs. 2 with my Enclave and that is a benefit for a family of 5. The 2nd and 3rd row seats are low to the ground, not so much an issue for kids, but it can be for taller adults. The Enclave was roomier overall, but the size meets our needs. You do have to adjust the back 2 rows of seats to make it work for 7. Most importantly, the Pathfinder drives better than the Enclave. Feels much lighter and evokes more confidence.
Beware
I have major issues with my transmission at 11,000. Also still have extra travel while braking on uneven surfaces (city roads) and that is after recall
So much potential so much maintenance
We leased a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder SV for 36 months. We enjoyed the vehicle appearance interior and performance. Unfortunately the transmission continually had issues in this car. We truly wanted it to work out but the dealer repeatedly informed us Nissan did not have a solution to fix the CVT transmission. We were told over and over Nissan is aware of the problem but only certain models were recalled. As we approached the end of our lease and that 36,000 mile warranty cut off we decided it was time to dump the Nissan because we did not want to risk replacing the transmission on our own dime. The last thing we needed was to be a few miles over the warranty and forced to pay for transmission they claim they couldn't fix. Boy were we surprised when the resale value was nowhere near the residual Nissan had hoped it would be worth. After calling Nissan corporate numerous times to discuss the problem with him very calmly no one really cared. We were truly shocked as we were willing to spend as much more in an Infiniti product. We ultimately decided to buy a reliable trustworthy Toyota Highlander and eat the negative equity Nissan didn't want to deal with. It's really a shame because we will certainly tell everyone we know about the risk you take when you purchase the Pathfinder. Overall a great vehicle but just not worth the risk because Nissan will not back you. You can get the same great gas mileage without the sketchy CVT transmission that Nissan uses to achieve good gas mileage.

Run away
So far after 2 months and 1600miles... Cracked valve cover dumped oil all over our driveway. On a mountain road shifting into low did nothing, the mechanic at the dealership verified the problem, but Nissan's official response is that this is the way the CVT works and that's it. On that problem and response alone we are trying to get our money back. Now we are experiencing the "Jutter" problem everyone else has been complaining about.
The good & the bad (transmission)
Purchased on 2-18-13 the suv drives and handles well. The vehicle is roomy inside and not too large on the outside. Averages about 25 mpg at 70 mph and over 26 at 55-60 mph. Expect 20-21 mpg in local driving. Well pleased with the Pathfinder except for transmission problems. On slow acceleration, 20 to 25 mph,the transmission will shutter/shake. The problem repeats at about 40 mph. On 4-17-13, the Nissan dealer, who was very helpful, advised Nissan is aware of the problem but has no fix at this time. A Nissan Service Bulletin, dated Jan '13, did NOT fix the transmission! Hope the repair comes soon as I fear the transmission will fail while traveling.
Dissponted Owner
Bought this car in June 2013 because i liked the style and had owned Nissan in the past. First week already had some transmission rattling issue, in which Nissan still does not have a solution. In 6 months already have 2 recalls. And most recently the front bumper cracked for no reason. The expert in the bodyshop said that material is very flimpsy and would crack easily. Terrible experience with this Pathfinder and this maybe the last Nissan I will ever buy.
A change, but I like it!
I've had the Platinum Pathfinder for about a month now. It got a rude introduction to winter shorly after I got it, but it came through with flying colors. I traded in a Siverado 4x4 4dr, so the smaller size is taking some getting used to, but the gas mileage and ease of parking are helping a lot! Even with only 600 miles of primarily city driving, and lots of cold weather idling, I'm averaging nearly 18 mpg overall.
Delivered Broken
Front air bag system not working 5 days in shop waiting for parts Rear seat heaters not working- missed during PDI Process Not a good start.
Great Car for Traveling
I was looking for a family car with 3 rows so i looked at the Acura MDX which starts at the price i bought the pathfinder fully loaded, the Mazda CX-9, and the Infiniti JX. The JX would have cost $15k more fully loaded with only having a little more features like Lane Departure Warning which isnt worth $15k. The CX-9 and MDX dont compare when it comes to size. I am 6' and still have leg room in the 3rd row. The tech is great and its comfortable. Very minimal road noise it still wows me to this day. i normally drive about 80-85 and it feels like nothing in this. 4WD is also excellent. I get 19.7 mpg but again i drive 80-85. The 14 Speaker Bose beats hard and the tv's are great for the kids.
Fun ride
We have had it for a month now. We had a 4 hour trip to see family and with a head wind for much of it still got just over 24 MPGs! We can slide the second row back so our two kids in car seats don't kick the back of my seat. Getting nieces and nephews into the 3rd row is nice because you can just slide the middle row up even with a big carseat! The transmission was a concern, lots of people moaning and groaning there. It feels different, BECAUSE IT IS DIFFERENT.The "stutter" described is likely just a result of inconsistent pressure on the gas when accelerating. I have tried to get the tranny to act up and if I press down, then let up then press down again it "transitions" gears but no prob
Not happy and here are the reasons
I bought Nissan Pathfinder 2130 SL Premium a month ago and now I have 1000 miles on it and here is my experience. 1. Audio over Bluetooth is supported only in cars with Nav. Stupid because you get this option in $100 CD players this days. 2. After driving 40 to 50 miles, heater blows cold air. 3. Belt sign on the dash board even there is no one on the passenger seat. I hate to see red signs on my dash board. 4. When start Front defrost, AC gets turned on with it which is understood. When turn off front defrost, AC does not go off itself, it has to be turned off manually. This is not a big deal but if you have to do this twice a day like me, it bothers.
Do Not Purchase this SUV!
Owned this vehicle for two months having the transmission replaced for the second time. The vehicle will randomly lose power under acceleration. Pull off the road put the vehicle in park and hope it starts working and your not hit in the mean time. This is issue appears to be extremely prevalent in the vehicle. Nissan and the dealerships have done an excellent job keeping this information out of the review and ratings for this vehicle. I relied on Edmunds review of the vehicle in error as they do not mention this pervasive, expensive and dangerous condition in one of the vehicles major systems the transmission. After the vehicles warranty runs out at 60k you can expect a $4900.00 bill for repair. They keep the transmission in stock and are happy to see you for this expensive repair. Nissan offers no explanation or repair for this issue so your new transmission will be the same unreliable design. Do not believe anything the dealer says out this issue as Nissan has not been able to correct this issue but continues to sell the vehicle. Even if your under warranty the fact this lose of power may happen to you in a critical driving situation should dissuade you from a purchase, not to mention the lose of use during repair. Steer clear of this vehicle. I hope this review helps others avoid my mistake.

Beware! Do not purchase Nissan
As someone who has purchased and owned several different cars (Honda and Toyota for the most), and with the experience now with our first Nissan, a pathfinder, I would highly suggest people stay away from Nissan vehicles. First of all, I have spend some much money on repairs with this vehicle and precious time in and out of the shop. At less than 10,000 miles, it started having transmission problems. The car was in and out of the shop, with us having to pay out of pocket multiple times and countless hours spent with consumer affairs and the dealer before the CVT was finally recalled and the problem was fixed. Before then, no one would accept the problem eventhough it was well documented by the dealers that this was happening time and time again. The frustrating part is no one will be accountable; instead it is denied and there is no support for customers until lawsuits are filed. Now, only a year after the transmission issue was finally resolved, a shifter problem. The truck will not shift out of park at times. At first, it happened randomly but now it’s all the time. The dealer shop personnel cannot say how this is damaged but agree (“off the record”) that this is a manufacturing problem and that they are seeing this with many of the vehicles. However, because an official recall has not been filed for this year Nissan, there is nothing they can do. We had to pay $1,000 out of pocket to have this fixed. No support from the dealer or from Nissan customer affairs. They will not accept responsibility. These are only two of the biggest problems. There is no regard for customers, for doing the right thing or for customer support. Do not buy Nissan. It’ll be a big mistake.

Transmission issue
I noticed that every time i step on the gas from stop the car feels like auto transmission shifting/jerking and the RPMs drop suddenly from about 3500 to 2500. The dealer is saying that it's normal but I don't trust them. Does someone else experience the same jerking problem? Also it's a shame that the car doesn't have Blind spot monitor. All competitors have it.
I LOVE THIS CAR! SL Platinum Premium
There are always lemon cars and lemon dealers out there of which I do not have either. So 4 months and 4000 miles mine is going strong no problems! The CVT transmission is different and will bog down if you try to floor it you have to give it gas steadily and before you know it you are passing someone uphill going 80mph! I live at 7500ft elevation in Colorado I have had no problems with power or passing and it handles great in the snow. I have averaged 26mpg on all of my tanks since buying this car. Its a 7 passenger SUV that handles like a sports car! Much better than the 05 Xterra I traded in! That was a tank!
Too Many Personalities & Quality Issues
We loved the features, style and comfort of this car. This was our third Nissan. Unfortunately, it will likely be our last due to numerous quality issues. The first issue we had was with the transmission. Nissan voluntarily recalled the transmission and replaced ours even though we were not experiencing issues. At that time they also fixed a recall with the airbag system. They did a firmware download on the car which started numerous "personalities" with the nice features we always loved. Now the seats do not automatically retract when the car is turned off. Also, the remote start feature only works about 50% of the time. Some Internet searches show these are common issues with the "control modules" of the car. Most recently we started having terrible issues from our engine which were diagnosed as being bad cooling radiator/condenser fans. While our care is within the power train warranty, these are not covered. The repair will cost $1,100. Additionally, they have over 4,000 of these units on back order, so the expensive part will not be available for about 2 months. We have been warned that continuing to drive the vehicle could cause severe damage of the radiator and condenser if the bearings in this fan further degrade. So, we've been presented an "option" of not driving this car for 2 months until we can do an expensive repair not covered by warranty (which is a known mass problem). Also, we have encountered an issue of our sun visors breaking and not retracting back to the ceiling. This is also very common based on Internet research. Fortunately I found a YouTube video showing how to repair them to avoid paying $100 each to repair them. These are not the types of issues I have ever experienced with a gently used care with only 54,000 miles. The combination of all these issues shows me that Nissan's quality has suffered. We will now sell our Nissan and find a new brand to love. It is unfortunate. Nissan has great concepts and features. They just do not offer the quality of construction to allow the owner to enjoy owning this car for an extended period of time.

100 miles and counting but Nissan cheaped out on CD Player
Just picked up a 2013 SL on Friday and have 111 miles on it. For unfathomable reasons, Nissan gives you a 6-CD player on the entry level Pathfinder, but only 1-CD player on the more expensive models!! The mileage so far is around 18.8, but I hope this picks up to promised 22 combined. I have not yet taken it on a flat highway to see if I get the 26 mpg promised. Happy with it so far, but the 1-CD changer is irritating on a car that lists for more than $36,000. Another puzzle at first was the radio no longer has the "SAT" button, so, at first, we thought we didn't have XM radio.
So much for a new design
I had nothing but problems with this vehicle. I was in and out of the shop with problems. From the airbag sensor, replacing the roof rail seals, and misc recalls. There were several other smaller issues, but one that could not be fixed and caused the dealership to trade my vehicle was something was wrong with the transmission. I would be driving in traffic, or in a school zone, hovering around 20mph, and the car would not accellerate. I had to either slam the break or turn off the car and restart it to get it to move. the dealership had it 3 or 4 times and "could not duplicate the problem". i sent a video in highway traffic to Nissan, nothing. i don't know if they ever figured it out. Update, I've had this vehicle 2 years, and have almost 60k miles. The trim Gasketing is coming loose on the passenger side roof rail for the second time, and the door weather stripping is coming off on the rear passenger door. The car shutters art 30-40 MPh, depending on the temp, but I haven't gotten it fixed because I hate going to the dealership.

Buy a toyota
Before you purchase this vehicle research the CVT .This vehicle is very dangerous to own . The CVT transmission has problems. When pulling out into a busy intersection the car may or may not respond to acceleration demands .The transmission ,2 wheel bearing 3 safety upgrades for airbag sensors looks like a forth and transmission again after replacing once .All under 52000 miles with the vehicle being serviced by the dealer every 3000 miles . This vehicle should be recalled under the lemon law and the owners made whole . Tried to trade in the vehicle with the dealer offered 2500 less than I owe on the vehicle .Do not purchase this vehicle.

Extremely cheap
I've owned my Pathfinder for 4 years and had nothing but problems with it. From constant minor annoyances to big problems. The visor broke, through tailgate button broke, the drivers side handle broke. Too many cheap parts put together in this piece of junk. Bigger problems include the AC going out to the transmission needing to be replaced. Don't think I have ever owned a worse car.

Love my car!
Dealers won't fix paint on bumper that pealed off in the first car wash and has continued to peal! ! Not pleased at all with this. No problem with anything else and it has a lot of bells and whistles. Comfortable and has power in the mountains.
Happier with replacement transmission
At least until the transmission issues with stuttering and surging are sorted out, avoid this one. The storage spaces are poorly thought out, can't get the glove compartment open if there's a passenger with legs in the front. The center console screen is confusing and low quality. No Bluetooth music connectivity unless you spring for navigation, and the Bluetooth phone is really noisy. The leather is soft, but the headrests force my head forward and cause me to slouch in the seat... not comfortable for long drives. Update: Still the same complaints with poor interior layout and outdated electronics, but Nissan replaced the transmission under warranty. That has really increased my satisfaction with this car. They truly got the transmission right the second time around. I added an aftermarket Bluetooth adapter in the center console for audio streaming. The sun visors break fairly regularly... driver's side has been replaced twice and passenger's side once in 50k miles. The ability of the middle seats to slide forward with a carseat attached is something that I initially overlooked, but has come in tremendously handy. It's one of the nicest innovative features of this car.

Better than reviews
At 72,000 miles. Best travel & overall SUV ever owned. Only repair, a $75. Pressure suppressor in gas line. CVT transmission never a problem. MPG very good for size at 25-26 on highway consistent. 19 in short city drives. Surround cameras a must-use all the time for parking. Have Platinum model. Will change back to boxy off road style in 2022. We are considering trade for a 2021 before that happens. Good power for trailers.

This car has been excellent for the two years i've had it. Not one problem, drives smooth as silk. I see these cars are hammered on reviews and I don't see it and the bullet proof v6 is a terrific performer. Its a perfect size, not to small or to big.

2013 pathfinder problems
Purchase the 2013 pathfinder march 2013. At about 160 miles the shaking, shuttering with the cvt started and the car was losing power at 1200-1500 rpms during acceleration.. The dealer found no prob. I was almost t-boned twice with my family in vehicle and so after 2 more trips to dealer and no fix I got nissan corporate involved. Needless to say they were no help. They acknowledged that they had received numerous consumer complaints but no solution. I requested that they replace my vehicle for another new pathfinder and a week later they refused with no explanation. The dealer eventually replaced it for me but have same cvt prob with new one. Don't buy this SUV too many prob..shame niss!

Excellent SUV
Purchased the Platinum about a month ago to replace my aging 2004 Volvo XC90. We just returned from a 1,000 mile round-trip to Canada and the ride was comfortable and quiet. First thing I noticed is that there is definetly more room in all 3 rows than the Volvo. Navigation was great, along with techno-goodies, like bluetooth audio, Sirius/XM and the tire pressure monitor. MPG improved from 22.5 to 24.5 for the return trip home. After a couple of months of research, what you are basically getting with the Platinum is an Infiniti JX35 minus the softer leather and lane departure warning. Here in Northern NJ, the difference was $9,000 so the my decsion was easy. You will not be dissapointed
Concerns on door weatherstrips
I need to start by saying that I love the vehicle. Got it in December, platinum edition, red with black interior. I owned several Muranos before this and the pathfinder is better than the Murano in most areas. The one thing that confuses me is why Nissan did not recess the doors at the bottom or at least provide a threshold plate under the bottom of the doors. The outer weatherstrip seal on the bottom of the doors is huge and fitts loosely. This allows road salt and water to polute the door jambs. I hope Nissan can improve these seals.
nice
I just bought a new Platinum. I am optimistic, but have a lightbulb out after only a week. This is my fourth Pathfinder dating back to the ones with the triangle windows. My last was a 2005 and I had alot of problems with it. It was the first one I had that was made in the US...the others went 250k. The 05 only made it to 100k before the engine and tranny failed. Also electrical problems. This one is quiet and it it gets better mileage. I like the ride and toys. It doesn't feel like a truck as the others did, but will still tow more than I need. Will see what the miles bring. Only at a thousand, and like it more than the old models. Reliability? We'll see and I'll update my review over time.
Disappointed
Purchased in April, the car has been to the dealership 3 times for repairs (over 30 days in the shop and counting, it is there now). First visit was for a misaligned hood and pax airbag issue. Second was for same Pax airbag issue and CVT, currently in for a new transmission due to cvt issues (stuttering between 15 and 20 mph). We are invoking our state's lemon law to have Nissan buy back, we will see how that goes. Great looking car, quality is the worse I have ever seen in my 30 years of purchasing vehicles.
Just bought 2013 Pathfinder
I have been reading the latest reviews on the 2013 Pathfinder and find them a bit disappointing. I bought mine yesterday and have 25 miles on it. I hope and pray I DO NOT have transmissions problems! I have been through transmission issues with a 2002 Ford Explorer and they were never rectified. I fell in love with this car after driving the Infiniti JX. I have the fully loaded Platinum. We read the reviews prior to buying and were so worried that the dealer included the 7yrs, 100,000 miles coverage on the engine and transmission. I hope the issues are in the minority and do not show up with me. If they do I hope Nissan can rectify the problem and take care of their customers.
Car show pick 2013
Very happy with my SUV for hauling grandkids and friends. Love power lift gate, 2nd row heated seats. We got with tow package. Over all my hubby and I have both enjoyed our pick. Cons: road noise as it has got older, reverse camera not the best, and transition has to be computer reset at Dealer.

Comfort, power and convenience
I have owned my Pathfinder for four years and have enjoyed every minute of it. It's a well-built car with all the features I need to be comfortable. It has great seating and storage options to get my family where we want to go and haul all our stuff. The engine and transmission have worked flawlessly, and I like that Nissan extended the warranty to 10 years/120,000 miles. Overall it was a great decision.
