Outstanding luxury SUV for road trips and in town
We replaced two vehicles over the past year so had an opportunity to drive multiple compact and mid-size SUVs (we don't need third row, so did not drive the larger version SUV). This is our first Murano, although previously owned two Maximas, all good cars. Before deciding on the 2019 Murano Platinum AWD, we drove a 2018 MB GLC, the new for 2019 Acura RDX, a used Lexus RX lease return, the new for 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe and the Mazda CX-9. We didn't consider Audi or BMW as we were turned off by the mixed reviews on reliability. We also drove a few used Muranos (2015-2018), although they are scarce and sell quickly. What sold us on the 2019 Murano were: 1) Excellent ride quality and handling, considering we will use for road trips and in town running about. 2) All the safety bells and whistles including front and rear collision mitigation, outstanding 360-camera view, blind spot monitoring etc etc 3) Powerful smooth engine, but still good on gas (averaging 24.8 so far) 4) Luxurious and elegant interior --- we actually feel we are in our first "luxury" vehicle, although we own a Mercedes. We love the contrasting dark wood with the Cashmere leather 5) Comfortable back seat for passengers (for our out of town visitors) 6) Easy to use Infotainment system. Compared to the others we considered, hands down the Murano had the easiest to use. After owning it for a couple of months we appreciate the clear and colorful display, with almost no glare. The Bose system is very good. While other vehicles had even "higher end" audio options (e.g. the Acura RDX), the overall ease of use of the Murano Infotainment system came out on top by far. 5) Price -- we took advantage of the recent Nissan incentive for several thousand under dealer cost, which was a good value (considering we'll keep this vehicle 10+ years). And still less than a used Lexus RX, which didn't have the safety feature OR infotainment features (e.g. Android Auto/Apple Car Play) or the Murano.

1-year ownership review
Last August after my Honda CRV was totalled, by chance i was given a brand new 2018 Murano by the car rental company. Drove it from Austin to Dallas, and found the car to be extremely smooth and quiet, with excellent handling and acceleration. I'm a petite lady used to driving a G35 sedan or a compact SUV, but i was able to drive the Murano just fine. The sleek exterior makes this midsize crossover quite sporty, while the refined interior with alot of standard options gives it a luxurious feel. The navigation system is one of the best i've seen. The backup camera is awesome. The seats are extremely comfortable and makes long road trips more enjoyable. The trunk space is divine. Best of all, it drives even better than the Infiniti QX50. I loved it so much i bought a brand new one. If you're on the fence about buying this vehicle, i suggest to go to a dealership and take it for a test drive. Don't waste money buying a more expensive vehicle. This car is a luxury model branded as a Nissan. Update: It's been 1.5 years since we've had the 2018 Murano. The only problem we had with the vehicle is the clamps on the undergirding frame came loose. We had it towed to the closest Nissan repair shop and it was taken care of without cost. The car still drives like a luxury car with excellent handling, acceleration and smoothness. The seats are extremely comfortable and great for long rides. Both the hubby & i have bad backs and the built-in back rest on the driver side helps alot during long trips. Because we've had to travel by car more than usual since we had the vehicle we've put 30K miles on it already. The gas mileage is awesome - best MPG was ~34. The well-designed GPS system came standard with the S model, so is a great value and a huge plus for road trips. With the roomy trunk space we're able to comfortably bring all our travel gear. And oh yea, we LOVE the audio system. Makes those long trips much more enjoyable :). Overall we're very happy with the vehicle. With regular oil changes and maintenance hopefully it should last us another dozen years.

Affordable comfort
I purchased a 2017 Murano SV AWD almost three years ago now. Overall, I am very pleased with the vehicle. It has a very comfortable interior made of high quality materials; it accelerates well; and is a heavy vehicle that holds the road well. In addition, I have not had not reliability issues. I recently rented a Nissan Rogue while on vacation, and this experience really made me appreciate the Murano. Compared to the Murano, the Rogue was noisier, had less power, and had a much busier ride. The only complaint that I have about the Murano is that I wish the steering and handling was a little tighter.

Great car for the money
My wife and I have owned 6 new Lexus’s in the last 20 years. As we entered into retirement, we wanted to be more practical. After 1 year of research, we settled on the Murano, as it checked all of our boxes. We have owned it for one year and are very happy with our choice.

Wow..best thing I've ever driven
This vehicle is often referred to as the best luxury suv without a name plate (ie Lexus, infinite, acura). I couldn't agree more. I had driven hondas for 30 years and as soon as I got into that platinum level cabin I could tell the major difference. The seats are incredible. The engine is superb. I have the 3.5 by and while it may not be sippy sippy on gas, that is not why you buy a luxury suv. The pick up is terrific, that cabin is basically flawless with a noiseless cabin. In addition back seat passengers have a ton of room and can set there own environmentals. It cam with the full panoramic sunroof which makes to di$ference to me. I also dont care about towing toys so the criticism leveled at ut is ridiculous. You dont take a luxury suv offroading or to tow a boat, just like you dont see a Lexus 450 or Infinite. Qx60 with these items in tow, yet this is the class of the premium platinum murano so i find many of the criticisms leveled against it unfounded. I find the cabin luxurious, noiseless and a very powerful engine that delivers. And when I go to Lowe's. Home depot and costco all the stuff fits and having redone two houses that a lot if stuff. FORGET ALL THE NIT PICKY THINGS YOU HAVE READ. I BARGAINED MINE doWN TO 36K (from 43k) AND it IS THE BEST VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED IN 40 YEARS. ONE knock. I have found the dealership's difficult to deal with but when you consider my 1999 accord blew its engine at 96k and ate 2 transmissions this is a small price to pay. None of my friends are driving hondas anymore

LUXURY VEHICLE AT A NON LUXURIOUS PRICE
I'm in my late 50's and an empty nester. I live at 4500ft elevation and needed an AWD. I don't need superior off road or towing capabilities. No kids so maximum cargo space is not a requirement either. A comfortable and quiet ride with a well appointed interior are my top priorities. The 2019 Murano provides everything I need and more. It feels like I am in a much more expensive vehicle. In my opinion at this price point the Murano can't be beat.

Perfect vehicle for my wife
Many of the reviews for the Nissan Murano knocked it for some really trivial reasons, like it has 1 cubic foot less of total cargo room than some competitors. However, it gives you good value for the money, has great looks, drives smoothly, has a ton of premium features, is packed with tech, and has a very comfortable ride for all passengers. My wife and I love it.

Love it!
Long time Ford fan but went with the Murano! Stylish mid size SUV with 2 rows of seats and solid 260HP V-6 power which is more practical on the highway. Averaging 25 mpg. Comfortable for a 6'4"/225lb man.

Love love LOVE my Murano Platinum
As I get older, I needed a vehicle that sits a little higher but I still wanted the dependability and style of a Nissan. I traded the car that I loved for one I love a lot more. I owned a Nissan Altima and never thought I'd trade it...I'm definitely glad I did. This SUV crossover is my perfect car.

2019 Nissan Murano S AWD
The Murano is definitely tuned for comfort and it shows. The seats are both supremely comfortable and supportive. We recently went on a four hour road trip and there were no complaints from any of us. The wide sidewall tires absorb road imperfections easily without being too floaty. The naturally aspirated V6 provides decent acceleration without the turbo lag of many smaller turbocharged engines common these days. The CVT is much improved compared to my 2012 Altima. It keeps the revs low without that rubber band feel. It even simulates the shifts of a traditional geared automatic transmission on hard acceleration. A major complaint about the driving experience is that front visibility is extremely poor. The A pillars are way too thick and can easily block your view of a pedestrian when turning. Also, the hood has a raised edge near where the hood meets the windshield, which often reflects sunlight right back into my eyes. The steering is a bit too stiff at low speeds. The interior seems to be made with soft, high quality materials. It is, however, a bit short on storage space. The car would benefit from a storage cubby between the front seats. The infotainment screen is a dull matte plastic instead of glass like on newer models. The display gets washed out easily in the sun and can be extremely slow to respond to touch inputs. Both the bluetooth connectivity and Apple CarPlay work on and off. The vehicle's entire electrical system seems to suffer from a delayed response. Shutting off the engine, changing audio input, climate control settings -- everything seems to respond a split second too slowly after user input. It's definitely noticeable. Unfortunately, the overall build quality of the car is a bit weak as has historically been the case with Nissans. The door gaps between the front driver and passenger doors are wildly inconsistent, there are creaks and shudders in the dashboard and steering column, the power steering pump whines on startup, the drivetrain exhibits unpleasant noises at low speeds, the struts on the trunk lid squeak when closing, the insulation beneath the floor mats are not cut correctly and stick out, the plastic latch on the glovebox feels flimsy. The optional trunk cargo cover broke within the first year when one of the rubber legs snapped off. The replacement unit, which took the dealer 4 months to obtain, does not fit properly, is made from even flimsier plastic, and rattles like crazy when driving. The car just does not look or feel solid and is not up to Honda and Toyota standards. That being said, this car was an absolute steal (3 year/36k mi lease @ $350/month plus $350 drive off). At this price point, these are compromises I'm willing to live with, but I don't see myself purchasing this car at the end of the lease period.

Disappointed re 2019 Murano Safety controls
Began to lease a 2019 Murano about 4 weeks ago. This is my third Nissan Murano. I regard the Murano as a blue-collar version of the Lexus SUV. This is not intended to be a criticism but a compliment. Murano is almost as good as the Lexus SUV (but less expensive) and much better than other SUVs such as the jeep. The Murano has many of the bells and whistles found in the Lexus SUV, for example and is a very comfortable SUV. >>>>>>>>>>> BUT, I do have a problem: I am NOT able to turn off permanently certain settings. Specifically, the 2019 Murano has a rear camera sensor that sounds an alarm and triggers the brakes to freeze if the Murano is coming too close to an object while going in reverse gear. Generally that is a nice safety feature. My problem, however, is that I have a steep driveway. When I back the Murano out of the driveway the brakes lock because the camera senses the road abutting my driveway as an obstacle. Very annoying when this happens and in the winter time, the brakes freezing could cause the rear of the Murano to become damaged when the brakes lock as I approach the end of my driveway -- causing the rear end of the SUV to hit the road. Before I signed the lease, I was told by the car salesman at Legend Nissan in Syosett, NY that I could turn off this rear sensor feature. WRONG!!! Not only that, the sales manager (peter, first name) disclaimed any responsibility for this matter notwithstanding that the car salesmen told me in advance of my leasing the Murano that I could turn this rear-end safety feature off, if I wanted to do that. What i was not told was that the rear-end safety feature automatically re-engages each time I start the Murano the next time I use it. There is NO way to turn off this safety feature on a permanent basis. Ii is inexcusable that Nissan manufacturer did not give the driver the ability to turn off certain settings on a permanent basis if that is what the driver wants or needs to do!!!!!!!!

Annoying murano
The design of the Murano's hood in the way that it has like 3 inch incline right by the windshield is a definitely a miss. Whenever there is sun above you, it reflects the sun right on your eyes/face. Also visibility of the car isn't too great due to the slimmed down design. Now the most annoying thing for my Murano is that the frontal impact avoidance warning system. This thing keep beeps saying that it is unavailable, then after few minutes it becomes available. Then wait 10 minutes or so it beeps and become unavailable. I am hearing this thing beep constantly every 5 to 10 minutes. The dealer couldn't fix the problem either.

Disappointed
I don't own one but I did test drive several models even took home the one I planned on purchasing to get my wife's opinion. A white platinum Murano with light beige interior..Very attractive with all the bells and whistles. My wife is on the short side, 5 ft, and on getting in asked me how to raise the seat because the seat adjustment wouldn't raise it, she couldn't see out of the front with that lip design on the hood. To my amazement the passenger seat had no height adjustment..A $48+K near luxury car and it has no height adjustment for the passenger? Had I bought it it'd mean she would have to sit on a pillow making the heat and cooling option nearly useless. I returned it to the dealer and told the salesman that but for the barely usable passenger seat I would have bought it. He said that regardless of the trim level none of the Nissan's have height adjustable passenger seats. Unbelievable!
I love my murano
I don’t know what’s the deal with the last guy comparing a his maxima to a Murano. To me it’s Apple n oranges. Yea May b Nissan but that’s it. His overall complaint is insignificant. I mean cmon over audio control sounds stupid. We’re talking about the suv in general. I have 2017 platinum for 3 years got her brand new and just love her. Going to be getting the 2019. She pearl white with beige interior I put custom wheels on her and some other accents and let me tell u compliments up the but. I have no complaints.

No Visibility, poor ergonomics, rough ride.
Got this as a rental vehicle for a week. I found the visibility to be very poor. If it didn't have a backup camera, I would not have been able to put the vehicle in reverse. I found that every minor bump in the roadway was fully and flawlessly transmitted to the cabin. And lastly, as a 5'10" man, I have never felt so cramped in a driver's seat. In order to position myself at a comfortable position relative to the steering wheel, I had to move the seat forward to the point that my knees were rubbing the dashboard (this model had tilt, but NOT telescoping steering wheel adjustment). Maybe other models have tilt AND telescope, that would have fixed this issue for me. But still, the lack of visibility and rough ride already made this a "thumbs down" for me.

Love the Murano S
I did not want leather seats so I bought the S Model. The package has everything I need and wanted. The car is quiet, handles well and the radio sounds great. I love Apple play for listening to You-tube lectures on long commutes.

Murano 2019
I hate leather seats therefore got the basic model. Seats are very confortable. And, more than 300 lbs less concerning the curb weight.( 3800 lbs vs 4125 lbs ) Handle well , however the steering feel is on the soft side, I wish it had a better road feel. The suspension is great, with many parts in aluminum. The vehicule has 260 hp with 240 foot/pounds of torque, very adequate for most situations. However, we do not feel all these 260 horses. Surely the CVT is stealing some of them. Noiseless interior cabin. Lots of room in front and at the back. The rear passagers will be happy. I like the shape of the car, the floating roof is OK, at least in dark grey. Cons ! Reflection from the hood , especially that 3 or 4 inches incline near the base of the windshield . A change of hood design is needed in 2022 . Also, a bit of reflection on the right and left side because of the shape of the hood. The hatch struts will squeak after a year, in my case it's the right side one ! Will have to look at this ! The sound system is not great. The car came with good tires ( Continental ) however the wheel design is terrible, at least these 18 inch wheels ! They could have done way better with a more classic design especially with the Murano style. Possibly, I will change these for black ones in the near future. Also, too much chrome on this vehicule , however , I did used that special 3M black tape in some areas, the car looks much better. Easy to apply, easy to remove ! No other issues with the Nissan Murano 2019.

Very nice ride
This 2019 Nissan Murano SL has leather seating and is very comfortable. I have getting 25-28 miles per gallon on the highway and 20-22 miles per gallon in the city. I have owned this SUV for 3 years and have had no real issues. For some reason the rear seating carpet was cut short. Some smaller SUV such as the Honda CR-V or the Toyota RAv4 has more cargo space. I get oil changed every 5000 miles. The original tires have 28,000 miles on them and probably will need replacement at 40,000 miles. Very nice car for the price with many standard features that be optional on other SUV. Update 4 1/2 years I have enjoyed this car. No repairs in this 41/2 years of ownership. My major complaint is I wished I could see where the front of the car is located when in the driver seat. The seats are very comfortable. The air conditioning is very good.

I Love it, And all of my friends do too.
I love the Murano, no real complaints other than the always dinging “Front Radar” alarm. The speakers also are also not very good. I listen to loud music, and the sound quality is terrible for such an expensive vehicle. Car is gorgeous inside out, touchscreen display is large and colors bright, gas mileage acceptable for larger Vehicle. Large storage in back. Also, I’m 5’0, large cars are hard for me to drive. Would recommend for a short driver.

Consume a lot of gas
This car is cute, comfortable, its super comfortable, spacious seats. I would not exchange it for another if it were not consuming a lot of gas. When I bought it, they told me that I would do 21 miles per gallon in the city but the truth is that he has always done much less, I am already 3 years old with him and he is doing17.5 per gallon. Yesterday, a man who has one like mine told me that his runs 19.
Nissan hits the mark
Have owned this car about a year, purchased new in Jan 2020. Have 10k miles on the car. It has been outstanding. Have had zero issues with the car. The Platinum model has been worth the additional expense. Love the comfortable seats with the optional ventilation. Great having a car with Apple Car Play which I use almost exclusively with XM radio. Plenty of room for our needs. Ride is comfortable on the highway and around town. Technology is fine, though I need to study up on al the features. Enjoy all the safety features and do not find them distracting. Engine is very quiet and is more than adequate for the highway driving. Acceleration is great. Looking forward to many years of great reliable use.

Might pass next time
After owning 4 Muranos previously we were disappointed in a number of things. They took away many features we liked before like no Low shift ability and no All wheel lock. The reduced towing was a shocker as well, and never realized it till after our purchase. No roof crossbars as standard. The elimination and reduction of storage pockets was also disappointing. The GPS system is substandard and even my Garmin GPS that I use on another vehicle is far superior. And I have never in my life had a car that leaked around doors so badly. Every time we go down a dirt road we have to open the doors and lift gate and wipe the dust off that leaks in. I could go on but frankly I may have purchased my last Murano. Recently had to have a rear window leaking problem addressed. Pretty much done with Murano. Maybe Nissan

Entertainment system concerns
I’ve been interested in the 2019 Murano since it came out. I’m currently driving a 2017 Maxima Platinum but as I am having recent knee issues I find it difficult to get out of the car. Thus I am looking for a crossover that is higher than the Maxima. I drove what I was told was a Platinum yesterday at a local dealership. While I understand the Maxima and Murano share similar engines, the Murano makes 40 horses less than the Maxima. Yet the acceleration in the Murano was more than adequate. The handling was good and the Murano was far quieter than my Maxima, a big plus for the Murano. Maybe it’s the tires but I can’t say for sure. My biggest concern is with the info/entertainment system. The system in the 2019 appears to be almost identical to my 2017 Maxima which is a good thing. It’s a Bose sound system and the interface thru the main touch available screen seems to be the same. SXM was not set up in the car I drove. Unfortunately the system does have a few differences. There is no Bose centerpoint option in the sound settings. No option for adjusting the surround sound, no option for the drivers sound stage. This was very disappointing. As I said I don’t know if it’s because SXM wasn’t turned on, but that shouldn’t make a difference. The FM portion of the sound system didn’t sound as good as the Bose system in my Maxima form the short amount of listening I did. But the one item that is a deal breaker for me is that there is no control knob for the infotainment screen need the center arm rest. In the Maxima the knob and surrounding buttons allow you to control most all of the different parts of the infotainment screen and system. Without a control knob, you have to reach for the touch screen or reach even farther to a physical knob to the right of the screen to scroll through different selections. This appears to be a significant misstep to me. I’m not sure how Nissan could fail to include a control wheel at the end of the center arm rest to allow the driver to not have to reach for the touch screen or knobs adjacent to the screen. It could have been mitigated if Nissan had put a similar or equivalent type of control on the steering wheel. But they didn’t. You can use voice control but I personally don’t want to have to do that. Too frustrating and takes longer than direct input. Since I use the infotainment system constantly while I am in my Maxima, the omissions for controlling the system by use of an easy to reach control wheel is significant to me. It may not be to someone else. So in sum, the Murano drove adequately with decent acceleration and handling (which felt a bit heavier than regular mode in my Maxima - we have a sport mode as well which tightens the steering and wind out the shift points). I should add there are no performance controls on the Murano that I could find. So, the Murano is off my list for now. I would look at the AX50 but it doesn’t have Apple Air play or Android Auto. I don’t get what Nissan is doing here. If the Murano had the same infotainment features as my 2017 Maxima, I’d probably pursue it further. But not now.
Best gift for my wife
My amazing wife was in desperate need of a new car. Her old 2007 Toyota needed to be gone. I wanted to give her an amazing Christmas gift and Trophy Nissan in Mesquite helped me get exactly what she was looking for
Not so happy with Nisan Murano 2019
I owned a Murano from 2011 to 2019. I had a good experience. Therefore, I thought I will buy the new 2019 Murano. Big mistake, the car front wheel make grinding noises when in reverse, car is less than 1000 miles.

Very Dependable SUV!
I bought my Murano 2019 with only 4300 miles on it. It was show room condition. I love this suv and get around 30 mpg on highway. It rides comfortable and just floats down the road. I have had NO issues with it and would highly recommend this. I was going to go with a Jeep Cherokee limited and read reviews on it and they were horrible! I’m glad I decided to buy this suv.
