I luv my car
This has been the greatest automotive purchase the family has made. It's style, performance, and luxury are unbeatable for the price.
Best car I've ever had!
This car has EVERYTHING I wanted and at a price I was VERY happy with. Got the Driver's Preferred Package w/o VDC or TCS (I don't need/want them). It is fast and fun to drive. I LOVE IT!!

smashing
the greatest for the money.
Fun Mommy Car
I love my car. I have always had sports cars or off road vehicles there fore i was not ready to give up my manual transmission. So, I purchased the 6-speed manual and love it. it has so much power very easy to manuver and too much fun for a mommy car. Which is why i purchased a safe, four door. I don't feel like i have given up my sports car at all. love the vehicle!
I love my maxima!
I purchased a 2003 in Novemer of 2002. When I saw the new 2004 I had to drive it. 2 Months later I traded my 2003 for the 2004.. I love it. I love the way it feels, I love the way it looks, I love the way it handles. As you can see I love the 2004 Maxima. Keep up the good work. Oh by the way it is my 4th Maxima.
2004 maxima
as stated this is one fine machine, lots of fun and looks so good
Disappointed overall
Bought brand new 2004 was a great car until it needed tires rotated from that point on we had a shimmy in the front end. Steering wheel vibration very bad on highway at 50+. Dealer changed struts, we changed tires with good year, then GY took back and made allowance on new tires still had vibration. No matter what it had to have tires balanced every 1000, 1500 miles to not vibrate. Also breaks make noise all the time even after have them changed at dealer. Turning radius is awful, don't try to park the car without backing up and pulling in again every time. Love the car, hate the problems, traded for a Toyota Avalon 2008
great car with one snag
this is a beautiful car with a bit of european touch this is my first max and I'm impressed as I usually buy BMW's, however there is one drawback the horsepower seem too high for a front wheel drive in other words if you should floor the pedal from a stopped position(eg a red light or highway on ramp without a mergge)you'd better hold on with both hands because it'll pull to the sides ,I think a rear wheel or four wheel drive would perfect handleing.other than that i would sell my BM and buy another.
so coollll
i love my maxima. the drive to totally fun and i get so many compliments on it.
04 Maxima
Ive owned a 99 Maxima and you cannot compare the two. There are so many nice features on this car, for one is the style, it went from a old mans['99] car to a nice sporty design. This is a car that needs no upgrade, it already has 18 inch wheels and a great soundsystem for the younger owners and comfort for the middle aged and older owners.
Very Good
This is the best car I've ever driven. It is great.
Fun car
this is my fourth maxima. This is also the best model they have produced
Great looks and Fun to drive
GREAT CAR LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT FROM ITS COLOR TO THE WHEELS. FUN TO DRIVE,HAD IT FOR ONLY A FEW MONTHS AND ALREADY THINK ITS THE BEST MAXIMA I EVER HAD ,I HAVE OWNED A 93 AND 95 .TEST DRIVE AND YOU WON'T REGRET IT
Maxima
This car is very comfortable to drive or ride in, smooth acceleration, lots of power. The exterior is sure to turn some heads with a front grill that is eyecatching and great shape. The standard sunroof that covers both the front and back seats is interesting. The interior combination of wood, metal and leather makes it look like cars costing much more. I've had the car for about 4 weeks now and still find myself taking the long way so that I can drive it some more.
Great Car
We bought this car in March of 2010, with 85,000 miles; it now has 96,000, after only 5 months. So far, it has been a very reliable, roomy, and comfortable family car. We average around 24.5 mpg. On a recent 300-mile trip, I averaged 31.2 mpg with luggage and a passenger. The front seats are comfortable, but the seat backs are shaped oddly, and can become annoying. The back seat is huge, and is more comfortable than the front. It is very enjoyable to drive, with lots of power, engaging handling, and a firm yet compliant ride. It is quiet inside, with only minor road noise. The BOSE sound system sounds great, and the radio display is excellent. I would highly recommend this car to anyone.
EXCELLENT CAR
GREAT VEHICLE TO DRIVE, COMFORTABLE, SPORTY LOOK AT THE SAME TIME LUXERY. FOR THE MONEY IS THE BEST CAR OUT THERE.
way to go, nissan
this is our second maxima, we traded in a 97, which we also loved. this 2004 is a fabulous upgrade for anyone, but having been a nissan family for years, this tops them all. it is sporty, fun to drive, very luxurious and from experience, we know will be dependable.
Nissan Maxima
This car really has it all.
Bad Paint job/ Good look
I did alot of research on different types of cars and features, however as soon as aI saw this car all others were a distant thought.
2004 maxima-great car
the car is nimble, roomy, fast and fun
In love w/ my ride!!
I saw it on the internet and knew I had to have it. I love the luxury feel, the cars appearance and ride. I had to have the leather and sun-roof. I am glad that I didn't get the BMW 325.
More Pros Than Cons
Saw this car while on vacation in Florida and fell in love with it. It's a very competent road car, with powerful acceleration and a roomy cabin. Styling (other than grille) is top notch. Had to replace front shocks under warranty and now there is a vibration in steering wheel. I hope can be remedied with tire balancing, but have read many complaints in the past about wheel/tire issues related to this. Overall, have been very happy with car and it's the best one I've ever owned.
This is my third Maxima
This is a great car inside and out. Comfortable and exciting to drive. Only objections are the poor turning radius and the occasional tendency of the car to "get away" from you when accelerating under certain conditions, two flaws I knew about before purchasing, but which did not deter me because Maximas are so reliable. Also, original set of tires went 60K miles before needing replacement. I owned 1989, 1994 and 2004 models and liked them all. Had zero mechanical problems. Drove the 1994 for 10 yrs, 105K miles and sold it for $5K. I do a lot of highway driving and this car is fantastic for long trips.
My Nissan
When it was time to buy a new car. I knew that Nissan was going to be the car of choice. We had owned a Maxima before and after 10 years and 140,000 miles, sold it to my nephew, as a first car. He still is driving it...and that has been 3 years ago! We purchased a 2004 Nissan Maxima. I liked the sleek, sporty design, and it still had enough interior room for the kids in my carpool! I was glad to see the return of smaller rear lights. The only thing I have noticed is the ride of the car. Because the standard tires are Eagle Goodyear low profile, you can feel every bump, groove. It sometimes feels like you are riding in a truck!
AWESOME CAR!!!
I purchased the 2004 Nissan Maxima over a month ago, and I LOVE IT. Its sytlish, fun to drive, and easy to handle. This car fits my personalilty - which is professional, fun, outgoing, full of energy, and stylish!! I highly recommend the 2004 Nissan Maxima. This is my second Maxima, and I am sold on this car.
PHATRIDE
Love this car. Seats are exceptionally comfortable. Love that all the information is in a centralized location. I have the 6 speed. Like driving a sports car. Only draw back is the very wide radius turn. Power and speed is awesome. Only drawback is the wide radius turn. Can be a bit of a hassle when parking.
Great Car
This is a great car. I owned 2000 Maxima before I purchased this one, there is no comparison. Fuel economy is also great on the road I get 35 mpg.
Satisfied Max Guy
A nice improveent over my previous one, a '95. Seats are more comfortable, instruments easier to read, lots of bells and whistles for reasonable price.
what a beutiful car!
beautiful style, confortable ride
The Very Best
I have never enjoyed driving a car as much as this.
Love It, Love It, Love It!
I have always loved Nissan automobiles, but the Maxima is by far the best I have ever owned.
great
very fun, very smooth
I drove it once
I test drove several cars before I finally test drove a Maxima SE, and I was ready to sign papers before I could get back to the showroom.
withholding judgment
The power train is great. Smooth, quiet and quick acceleration. The engine is definitely the best feature of this vehicle. But reliability is a question and quality of interior is not on level of Camry or Accord. Still thinking that the wiser choice would have been the Accord; but will withhold judgment so long as the reliability is much better than average.
Love my new Max
Just got a SE a few days ago (my 2nd Max after the '97GLE). Been loving every minutes. Been waiting 2-3 years for it to come out. But was a bit put off by the look in the pics (ugly grill and too big). Well, it's so much better in person. Only a few other expensive cars can make me wishing to trade the looks. This Max is above the rest in the look department. If you don't like the grill, get an aftermarket one @stillen.com, it will inprove the look a lot more. I sold the old Max @100Kmiles and everything was still solid and smooth for another 100Kmiles.
getting a lot of looks
My first Nissan, and I am very pleased. Everyone that gets in raves about what a gorgeos car it is. I got the rear bucket seats, and LOVE them! (As do the kids!) Everywhere we go, people are asking us about it, we've been approache sitting in traffic, in parking lots just about everywhere. All I can say is just take it for a test drive!
Maximized
Being an avid Honda owner and Honda fan it was quite a wakeup when I drove the Maxima. It is extremely fast and has an abundance of features. Besides the Nissan Dealership being inept I am pleased with my new/used Maxima. I did notice that the plastics are not up to Honda quality and smoothness and the torque steer can be atrocious if you are on you P's and Q's. Considering the price I paid I feel I got a steal.
I am so Happy!
I have always had SUV's - this is my first car and my first foreign vehicle. I am loving it. The price was a little high, but I am definitely reaping the benefits. I actually had someone tell me it looks like a one hundred thousand dollar car. The sleekness of it is so gorgeous.
Fun but could be better!
Great styling, power, handling, and better than expected fuel economy. Radio quit playing CDs after 3 months, but was replaced without hassle by dealer. Nav system is good, but was 2 yrs out of date at purchase and costs $180 to update from vendor - not Nissan. Tires wore very unevenly and cupped - lots of noise and vibration after just 15k miles and at $250 apiece to replace it's a major annoyance. Tire places say it was because the alignment was not correct at delivery and so I went 10k without knowing. Any decent level of bass in the sound system causes all kinds of plastic to rattle in the interior. Nav system display and dash are dust magnets.
be careful
I love the car but the biggest problem with it is that it has the worst paint job. it gets scuffed from the littlet thing that touches it.
AWSOME MAXIMA
I LOVE THE MAXIMA IT HAS ALOT OF SPEED AND A SMOOTH RIDE I HATE TO LEAVE IT I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT
Undecided
I love my maxima, but as previously stated, it makes so much noise while youre driving it. It feels like you're riding it offroad and it makes the driver and passenger shake. My front struts also went bad a 7k miles. other then that, I love it. I dont know if I'd buy another maxima in the future.
Sleek Look
I have had my Maxima for about 3 months. I have two sons and we all love the roomy interior. The only fault I found is the turning radius and the front wheel drive is not my favorite, but I am getting use to it. I love it!
Nissan Has A Winner
I have to tell you. I've had my Max since 2003. It's a great car with both power and style. Still turns heads after 2 years! The engine is smooth and powerful without sacrificing MPG. I avg. 24.9 MPG. Not bad for such a strong motor! If I have anything negative to say, it's nothing different that what's already been in reviews - fix the torque steer issue and work on the wide turning radius. Other than that - I love my Maxima!!
BEST CAR
This is the greatest car I have ever had. It is so smooth to drive it and its extremely powerful and fast.
A great car
The car is solid. The transmission is superb and I like the styling. I have 8200 miles on the car and had a few rattles in the interior, but the power train is the best I have ever driven. I didn't know that Renault is the primary owner of Nissan when I bought this car!! After 4 months, I have only seen 2 or 3 more of these on the road!
Boy This Thing Is FASTTT
This car is so fast it's almost scary to drive. THIS model is definately worthy of the title of "4-door sports car"
2004 Maxima SL
Most outstanding noticable feature is the motor performance - - smooth, very good response. Handles easily. Interior is excellent, very comfortable with passenger controls. Many features. Interior is very roomy. Significantly larger than the Camry we owned previously.
Great Car
This is truly a drivers car, and the bose 320 watt system is great.Nissan went all the way with this new design. This car turns more heads than a Mercedes!
Best Car I Ever Owned
The best preformance you could find for the dollar investment. The interior is wonderful. Great driving position.
