Well balanced car. If you want a smoother ride get the SL. Performance is second to none. Look out GT Mustang. It is a classy and sporty car. I researched quite abit before buying one.

I've had my Maxima for almost a month now. I love the speed and handling. But I've also notice a weird bumping sound coming from the back when I go over bumps on the road. Also a small ratling sound coming from the hood. I am not sure if it's the air conditioner or the engine. I haven't had time to take into the dealer, but will do it sometime this week, other than that I love the car.

I have had my Nissan Maxima for a year now and think I could not have made a wiser choice. This is my first brand new car and the decision was a tough one. I finally decided to settle on one because my Sister had purchased one brand new in 1997 and still owns it and has little maintainance other than what's typical. I can not tell you the number of compliments I still receive on it! I have made trips back and forth from my new home here in Dallas to Atlanta, Georgia and to Shreveport Louisana and it's the most comfortable trips I've ever made. Luxury at a great cost! I would recommend it to anyone!

I recently purchased the SL edition and I have to say I love it! Fun to drive, alot of pep (fast), so many interior options but most of all comfort. Great handling and good on gas. Not your typical sedan that's for sure. I also own a 1998 Maxima that has a ton of miles but, runs like the day I bought it. I definetly recommend Maximas they always have more to offer then comparable sedans and are the most reliable of any other car I have owned including Honda.

This is my 1st time buying a car and I am VERY impressed with the Maxima. I compared this car to the Acura TL, G35, IS 300, Saab 9-3 Aero, and the Maxima won! This car has every option to keep you comfortable while driving, and performace/handling to make anyone looking at sports sedans very satisified. I chose the Maxima b/c it has the performance of the BMW, the reliablilty of the Acura, the uniqueness of the Saab, and the luxury of a Lexus. This car is just as good any other entry level sports sedan but cost less then $30k.

I love the power of this. It's very fun to drive espeically with the 3.5 liter power house. However, my biggest complaint with the car is the interior quality. Its all PLASTIC, and has a very cheap look and feel to it. After 1,500 miles my sunroof and front dash is already rattling. I'm not sure what Nissan was thinking with this car when it came to the interior. The exterior is so-so. My biggest worry with the exterior the cheap front grill. I drive on the highway, and I usually get rock chips. Now my plan is to get rid of this car and get an Accord, at least the interior isn't made of cheap plastic.

This is my 3rd Maxima (had a '97 and a '01), and Nissan has done a great job overall. Even though the Maxima is based on the new Altima, there is a substatial difference in the driving feel, giving the Maxima a more "upscale" feel (my wife has the Altima).

I've traded 3 Nissans (95 Altima, 98 Maxima andn 01 Maxima).. this car makes my 4th Nissan Vechicle. I fell in love all over again. Once I saw and drove the car I couldn't resist. The commercial about the car is very true.. "Everything has changed, Nothing has changed". The look of the car is very different.. It difinitely looks luxurious ..very roomy, stylish, comfortable, equipped.. However the performance is still as incredible as it's always been (if not even better)!!!

After 3000 miles I find my Nissan Maxima a joy to drive. It accelerates like no other car I have ever driven. Hardly a day goes by that someone doesn't comment "Nice Car". What are the negatives? Some small details I would like to see changed. l. I like my ignition key on the steering column rather than on the dash. I like the door handles flush, pull outs, rather than the extended handles. I would like some place in front for a trash receptical. And, I don't like having to use premium gas. But you can't have everything.

This is truly an awesome car!! From the head turning style to the neck snapping accelleration, I LOVE IT!!! The 265HP V6 is smooth and fast. The 5spd auto trans is also smooth as silk. The handling is very nimble and steady. No push, very little body roll while cornering or in curves. Monster 18" wheels, wide tires, this is GREAT!! averging 24mpg. Not too shabby for such a powerful engine. Great fit, finish. Interior is roomy and nicely appointed. Great sound system and the race inspired gauge binacle is sweet and well lit. Maybe the guy who wrote the first review should trade his in. Perhaps he thought he was buying something different?

My wife liked my car so much (04 6spd SE) and she hated her 01 MB C240, the Benz was in the shop once every 45 days and we only had it 10 months. we had the loaner just as much as our car. The service at the Benz dealership was awful as well. Finally, we had enough, she said why don't I just get a maxima too, fine with me, she likes a soft smooth ride so she went for the 04 SL auto, hasn't complained since.

Great car, fast, fun to drive, handles well, I am 6'3'' and have plenty of room in the drivers seat and could ride in the back seat comfortably. Compares favorably with the Acura TL but with more room. Many amenities, heated steering wheel, automatic folding mirrors, verital sun roof, nice display of car functions, friends envy it

500 miles ago I stepped into this awesome machine...the looks...the feel...the power...all great. Loaded with the driver preferred package, to me this car is better than the G-35 and CTS...and for thousands less $$$. Without fail, when I'm 'drifting' people ask me about the car. My only complaint is that I cannot keep my foot off the gas peddle, feeling the car's immediate response as I zoooooom down the road.

Usually I do not give review unless I like the vehicle 100%. The 6th generation maxima is best in the industry. I purchased the vehicle in Aug, 2004 since then I put on around 18500 miles. No major problems. Only problem I had initially was with balancing. That was resolved with in 2 months after I purchased. Since then till today, I have no other issues. I always use premium fuel and getting consistent 25 miles per gal. Till today my car looks beautiful as new. Excellent performance and very comfortable. Before I used maxima, I used Toyota and Honda vehicles. They never come closer to the 6th generation maxima. I love my maxima. Thanks to Nissan

I bought an SE with Elite pkge, VDC & sunroof. I love this car! The engine is smooth and powerful. The navigation is a blast, and the fit and finish is excellent. At first I wasn't sure I liked the new style, but when I saw it up close it looked great. The rear spoiler adds to the look. The interior looks better with the navigation than with the standard message screen.

I previously drove an Infiniti J30 and was skeptical as to whether I could replace it with any car. The Nissan is great to drive! I love the radio on the steering wheel and the faux suede accents on the interior. The dash is clean and streamlined, unlike other cars with BIG dials. I selected the regular sunroof (a must for me) over the roof windows and I am very happy with everything. I test drove alot of cars including Infiniti, Acura and Mercedes and quickly selected the Maxima. The engine power is outstanding and highway driving is a breeze.

Did much research before buying this car, it came down between a Acura TL and the Maxima. After driving both I can't see how anyone could not fall in love with this car. I got the SE 5- speed with sunroof and Journey package. There are so many new toys included in the new Maxima but the real joy is how quite and effortlessly it cruises at 100mph The looks will shock you at first but then after a close look you say "cool". Had a hard time finding the color and options I wanted due to 9000 Maximas getting hail damage at the factory, which is leaving dealers short on inventory. Still I was able to buy it for $300 over invoice.

My Maxima is fun to drive and accelerates quickly. The AC and heater are a major improvement over the Bonneville I formerly had. The leather interior is attractive and comfortable. I had a security problem starting the engine one morning. I'm still not sure what caused it. Possibly a key transponder problem.

So you have read the poor reviews of this vehicle. These are inital quality that have all been resolved or handled under warranty by dealer. I have not experienced any of the quality issues since mine was built 5/04. Only quality issue I have is the interior scratches easily. This has been replaced for 05 and I can have my dealer replace mine under warranty. This car is very quick. Must check spedo because it goes up faster than you think. MPG avg 20 city, 29 HW. Sport suspension feels softer than some luxury cars. No mistaken identity. Stands out among many look- alike cars out there. Same engine as 350Z & as reliable as previous Nissan motors. Lots of fun

I drove most of the large and midsize sedans on the market before I decided the Maxima was right for me (started shopping last Feb.). Maxima's reputation for being a well built, reliable, refined car is deserved. There is nothing about the car that I don't like. It's performance and handling are superior. It's obvious that the car is well built - you'll know as soon as you open one of the interior compartments. The sound system is good. The interior is comfortable and roomy - suprised me, I'm 6'2". The trunk is also larger than I'd have figured. The fuel economy is good. Best of all, it was $3500 off MSRP at the dealership I purchased it from.

I bought the car brand new in 2004. Now have 75K miles. Still drives like new and still having fun driving it. Great Bose sound system (not sure why it has a tape player, never used it). Does not drive well in Wisconsin weather. Low pro tire needs replacement every 40K and pricey. Replaced by front grill b/c of peeling (common issue). Nissan great about fixing recalls. Overall pretty satisfied.

The car rides great and when you need to pass there is no better engine than the Nissan V6. I debated between the Altima V6 and the Maxima, but I'm very happy with my decision. The tighter suspension on the Maxima, bigger wheels, the controlled acceleration, along with the safety features, the cars slow depreciation and the cars overall history helped me make a better decision.

This is our 4th Nissan and second Maxima. It seems each new model we purchase has become more reliable than the last. We just sold a 2001 Maxima,72000 miles, never required any dealer repair. I Just bought this one yesterday (2004 liquid silver SE) and had to test the now expected power to avoid another driver turning from the wrong lane! The Max performed like a dream. My emotional attachment to these cars is so bad that we no longer trade them in...they are sold to another Max fanatic who will give them a good retirement home :-) Yes...my husband IS threatening counseling.
