2024 Nissan Frontier Consumer Reviews

Frontier vs Canyon Denali
In June of 2024, our family bought both a 2024 GMC Canyon Denali and a Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. They're both now at about 15,000 miles. They both have had excellent reliability without any warranty issues. Acceleration-wise, they feel about the same. Neither is a Porsche, but both are more than adequate for daily driving. The steering feel in the Frontier is weirdly heavy, even though my previous 2015 Frontier felt normal, but you quickly get used to it. The Frontier has a quieter and smoother ride. The Canyon is taller and has a little bit of that lifted truck side-to-side rocking, while the Frontier feels planted in corners. The Canyon can switch between AWD and part-time 4WD, which is cool, but the Pro-4X has a selectable locking rear differential. The Frontier has been taken through some pretty fierce snow drifts and did great with the 4WD and locked diff. The Frontier rail system of adjustable bed tie-downs is incredibly useful and the best in the industry. I don't know why everybody isn't copying it. Both trucks have a small backseat, but the Frontier is a little more cramped. The Frontier front seats are amazingly comfortable and plush, like luxury car quality, and much better than the Canyon. The Canyon has a 7,700 lb tow rating while the 2024 Pro-4X was rated to tow 6,200 lbs (Nissan bumped it up to 6,700 lbs in 2025). Both tow my 6,000 lb boat through Sierra mountain grades with no problems. I love both of them, but if I had to pick one to drive cross-country, hands down it would be the Frontier. And to top things off, both were fully optioned but the Frontier cost $11,000 less.

Great midsized Truck!
I look at all of the new midsize trucks and came back to buy the 2023 Pro4x. Great truck so far, have over 6,000 miles on it. Just feels like a truck, Like the hydraulic steering, took a little while to get used to. I think for the money this truck has a lot of value and was able to get over 4,000 off the sticker. Try that at a Toyota dealer. Buy the way most of the Tacomas l looked at were over MSRP, without the options I wanted.

Where do some of these reviews come from
I have now owned my 2023 Nissan Frontier for almost a year. I'm one to read reviews on anything that I purchase. The frontier had mixed reviews with the newer engine to the mpg. I figured 24mpg on the highway wasn't terrible for a V6 and most of my commute is on the interstate. This truck has exceeded the 24 mpg, I average 27-29 mpg! The ride quality is good and passengers in the rear say it's comfortable. There are complaints about the controls and things being dated. I have found everything easy to use and not too difficult to navigate. For what the truck has to offer and the price, it was hard to pass it up.

It is definitely a Truck
Before I traded in my good old reliable 2004 Ford Ranger, I went on to check all the players in the arena: Chevy Colorado, Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, before I made my decision. Unfortunately for the competition, my biggest concern was the modern approach to replace standard 4cyl engines, that lasted for a long time, with Turbo technology. Call me the old school, however the future will tell... My previous 4cyl Ranger was not a fastest kid on the block, but it did more than I expected, including howling a lumber and build my cabin in Okanogan Highlands. So, make the story short, left dealership in a new Nissan Frontier King Cab and so far, no regrets.
