Almost Got it Right
The 2005 Nissan Armada has tons of power and is fun to drive. The interior is very flexible. Every seat folds down. I have 21,000 miles on my Off Road 4x4 and have worked through a few issues. The brakes were fixed on the 3rd try after a service bulletin came out. The Bose stereo system does not sound like a $750 system. I still have rattle sounds in my dash and doors. Overall, I still like the truck and would recommend it though.
Move over for the Armada
If you see this monster in your rear- view mirror, pull over and let it by. The 305 hp engine in the Nissan Armada with its best in class torque means this SUV really moves. Its gas mileage is nothing to write home about, it gets only around 13 mpg city, but this is about the same as all others in it's class. This is the third largest SUV on the road after the Chevrolet Suburban and Ford Excursion. Its 9,800# towing capacity will pull the largest of boats, which is made even easier by the longer wheel base than a Chevrolet Tahoe or Ford Expedition. The interior is very nice. The updated interior that obviously got a lot of attention from Nissan. The cloth seats are really comfortable, so much so that you may just want to pass on the leather. This definitely is the vehicle for a family on the go.

still in love
We are still in love with this vehicle as if we just took it home. It is powerful, comfortable, and easy to load and unload and great head turning appeal. Love my rear sensors for parking/backing up as it is difficult to fully judge backing distance or objects low to the ground[especially if a child/animal walks behind you suddenly] Seems to accumulate a great deal of break dust so difficult to keep as clean as we'd like. great bang for the buck in our view!
Love my armada
We love our new suv! We have took many trips in it since we bought it we have had it packed with people and luggage and had plenty of room. It is so comfortable just love the way it rides and drives. Me and my husband can't wait to drive it each time we go somewhere! It is so pretty! Thanks nissan
Power and Style all in one
I am coming from an 03 Expedition and I am very impressed. After discounts it was $12,000 cheaper than a comparable equiped Q56. I test drove all the competition and NOTHING comes close to the performance of the Armada. The exterior styling is bold and aggressive. Interior in the LE is well laid out. I have not had any problems that plagued the 04 models. Sound system is good for a factory system but the navigation system could use a touch screen. Kids love the rear DVD and theater seating. The ride is very smooth and controlled even with 22" wheels, no shake in the steering wheel as others have indicated. The interior is quiet at any speed. Again, love the power this thing has.
Lovin' Every Minute of it
I have had my Armada LE for about 2 months now and have nothing at all negative to say about it. I am completely satisfied and reassured that the vehicle will be as great five years from now as it is currently.
awesome ride
this vehicle is a great family suv,it has lots of room for the kids an my tall husband.its very comfortable to drive.it has great get up an go. the armada is a great looking vehicle inside an out. its one of the most comfortable vehicles i have ever owned.
Not To Satisfied
Since we bought it 3 1/2 months ago, I have had the tires balanced 5 times, the vehicle still vibrates, the rear view mirrors shake, (which I am told that this is the way it is and cannot be fixed), there is a rattle that I cannot quite place where it is coming from, the transmission fluid has leaked, and I feel that the third seat should be able to push forward to give more room behind it. There is little room for instruments, backpacks, and such, so if you have to fold down the third seat, then you loose the room for 3 people.
armada
So far based on test driving the Armada versus others SUV. I found that the Armada has everything that I needed. From the comfort of the vehicle to the practical function of it.
armada
no mechanical difficulties have been experienced. the middle row can be tricky to fold down if you don't do it often. other than that, no complaints at all! really nice ride and comfy seats. my kids are able to see out the windows, but the little ones cannot open the doors from the outside, so you have to help them get in.
I like it!
The ride is smooth, the controls are easy, and wireless headphones for DVD is very convenient. I like the fact that you get more for your money when it comes to towing. The third row seat is roomy for children or shot people like me; maybe that's why I like it so much.
Brake Rotor Warp
Great comfort however the brake rotors warped after 3000 miles. Steering wheel shimmy at high speeds
Armada Rocks
I love my Armada and I would recommend it to anyone in the market. For its size it gets descent gas milage (I get about 290 miles to the tank and my sister-in-law's Tahoe gets about 220) I think for the size and power it has that is pretty good. It's nice inside and out ans also comfortable for the kids and my husband as well, plenty of feet room! If your looking for a full size SUV check out the Armadas.
Just Plain Fun
I have driven many suv's out there and the Armada is the smoothest for it's size. With all the features that come with this truck, why pay for a Toyota Sequoia with little to no options? The mileage for city driving would be the issue I would have a complaint with.
Big Honkin Truck!
I traded my Jeep Liberty for an Armada. Needed more room for the dogs and everyday errands. I can't believe how easy this thing is to park/drive. The reverse camera, excellent stereo, incredible power---all more the reason to enjoy. Mileage is a little scary, but who cares as long as you are comfortable.

Brakes
Great performance , nice styling , but the brakes are terrible....i have 1800 miles on my Armada and now I have to have dealer cut rotors because of real bad wheel shimmy when braking. Nissan has a kit to fix problem ,but wont do it until the rotors can't be cut anymore. i figure evory 1800 -2000 miles they have to cut rotors...fix it the first time with the kit and get done with it....otherwise the vehicle is fine..lot of truck for too small of brake set-up..
Love my Army...
I've only had this beast for 2 months but it's perhaps the best ride I've ever owned. I got rid of my Volvo S80 in favor of the Armada...and the difference is astounding. The ride in my Armada is soooo much smoother, I was surprised. The room in the back seat is PHENOMENAL! The raw power at any speed over 15mph is a fun kick in the rear. I've had it over 90 a couple of times and have never noticed the before mentioned "shake" in the steering wheel. I'm not looking forward to replacing the tires when the day comes either.
Great Vehicle
I love it so much. It has enough space. The only thing is the SE should have fog lights. That would bring them out also. Other than that the Armada's are Great!!!!!!!!!
Armada AH YES!
I have not had my vehicle for very long, but I think it's awesome. The ride, comfort, looks, dependability. It is top of the line as far as I am concerned....no better anywhere. Two downsides that I am not happy with. 1. I have leather seats (love them) I sometimes slide on pressing the brake. 2. Fuel economy Poor.
great SUV
totally satisfied with power, comfort ,and performance. I just wish nissan built a 4 dr titan with an 8 ft bed. so, I could have a truck as good as my wife's SUV!
Great SUV that is hard to beat.
This is the first foreign car that I have purchased. To date I have not had one thing that I have had go wrong, and I have had nothing to take it to the dealers for after the purchase, I haven't been able to find a thing wrong with this car. It has more than enough power for all conditions and is loaded with featuers. I considered this the best car on the market for its price. This replaced a Grand Cherokee.
Excellent vehicle!
This is my first SUV and I now have 3265 miles on it. It's fun to drive and handles quite well for a vehicle of this size. Gas mileage is 13.7 city and 17.9 hwy. I'm using 87 octane fuel and have no problems with this grade. The pick-up is great and it seems connected to the pavement when taking turns at speed. Handled very well in snow and automatic 4x4 drive. I use automatic 4x4 on wet roads and it tracks well. I'm a big person (360 lbs) and fit well in the driver's seat. The leather seat is quite comfortable but a tight fit with the arm rest down. The headlight and wiper controls are too close to the steering wheel and should be relocated. I constantly hit them when I do not want.
Great SUV with bad Brakes
I've had my Armada for 8 months now. the truck is great for our three kids and two dogs. The only draw back so far has been a constant problem we've had with our brakes. Apparently the truck is too heavy for the brakes. They only last about 4000 miles before the steering wheel vibrates. With that said Our Nissan dealer has fixed the problem usually the same day I call them. It takes about 4 hours, and there is a heavy duty brake and caliper set up that will be available soon?!?
Powerful..Safe...Roomy...Family fun ship
I have been the owner of a ford expedition, jeep cherokees, hummer h2, and dodge durangos...And by far my nissan armada is the most overall family friendly suv i've owned while still making the driver excited about getting behind the wheel of this enormously powerful machine with unmatched unique styling.
LOVE my Armada, great family car!!
Overall, this SUV has been GREAT. We bought it soon after we had our baby end of last year. There is so much room- leg room, storage space, trunk space (when you fold down 3rd row). I couldn't be happier except for one thing- the brakes have needed resurfacing twice so far, and are about due for another, and we've only had the car 8 months. I don't feel unsafe, but it is a pain having to bring it back to the dealership to have it worked on every few months. However, the positives definitely outweigh the negative. I didn't want a minivan, and this is the next best family type car. Also, my husband said if he was going to drive an SUV, that's what he would drive, b/c it's also very "manly".
The big easy
Beautiful suv rides great and handles even better.. Our 4 yr old is so quiet in the back set watching her movies that sometime we need to check to make sure we put her in the car (lol). We just got the truck so no complaints so far.
'05 Armada.... The Best !!!
We just got our Armada and I will tell you it's been the best truck I've owned thus far. Very comfortable and has plenty of room and power. I used to own a Montero and I got frustrated all the time driving it. Nissan did a good job on this one!!
Great BIG SUV
We really like this Armada LE 4WD so far the only problem was the rear hatch sensor would only allow the door to close about 50 % of the time. It took three visits and a free rental car before they discovered the problem. We really enjoy the Bose 265 watt 10 speaker sound system. This SUV rides very nice and quiet I might add. Yes it uses a lot more gas than my Mercury Grand Margue did. We don't have the Nav package but that is fine. Lots of people stop and gaze at it. The 4 captains chairs and two consoles are nice along with the rear A/C controls. The roof mounted air bags are a good feature. The electronic stability (VDS) is a great feature also.
Bigger & Better
After driving a very reliable 2001 Ford Expedition for 89,000 miles it was hard to make the change but then I drove a Nissan Armada. It handled so much better and had so much more power it was fun to drive. It looks bigger but handles like a smaller SUV. It gets better gas mileage and is no harder to park than the Expedition. Hopefully its resale value will also exceed my expectations.
So Far, So Good...
It's only been two months for us, but aside from the dismal gas mileage, this vehicle has been all we hoped it would be. There is an annoying click, or, slight hitch in the driver and passenger power windows as they go down. Not sure if that is common to other Armada's. A bi-fold thrid row seat would be prefferable to the current 'all-up' or 'all-down.' It would just give you more seating and cargo options. If I had to guess, I'd bet that Nissan corrects this for future models. But its eye-catching good looks and thoughful features like a power liftgate, rear sonar, mud lights, and fold-flat 2nd & 3rd row seats have made it very nice. Oh, did I mention the power? Wow...
Spend Less - Get More
The Armada has made a much comfortable ride for my family. It allows my growing boys plenty of room and space from one another while being able to cargo the groceries for a family of 6. The pricing of the Armada is affordable while the style is elegant. Nissan is a reliable name and doesn't get the credit it deserves, however, for me and my family we feel fortunate to own a nice vehicle and not have it cost as much as our house.
Impressed by quality
The vehicle was impressive upon purchasing however i experienced brake problems after 7500 miles. The local dealer (nissan east in monroeville pa) corrected the problem and no further isuues were experienced
Great Vehicle
Very little to complain about. I have switched over from a series of Dodge Ram trucks and will never go back. This SUV is superior to any other large truck or SUV I have ever driven. The only complaints would be that the power seat controls tend to accidentally adjust while getting in and out of the vehicle and laying the seats flat for storage is not a completely simple task. Besides that, it is fun, big, smooth and more powerful than even necessary. Highly reccomend this truck.
armada
excellent buy for what you get. Gas mileage could improve but if you want power you got the right SUV!
Cool Truck
It's a very cool truck. It handles well and has some real get up and go. The only downfall I can think of is the gas this thing takes. I suppose overall though, there's not another large SUV I would want or trust.
love this truck
I love everything about this Suv except the mpg. Other than that I have no complaints. It's a well built/equipped vehicle
awesome armada
This truck is awesome. It by-far surpassed my expectations. A head turner/ intimidating beast. You tweebs who care about gas mileage, take a hike. If you want unsurpassed power, style and envy buy this truck. It put the hummer to shame.
Best truck! I bought brand new 2005- it’s now 2021
Never had to do anything but replace the relay board. Super easy to work on. Still runs great to this day and pulls my wakeboard boat like nothing.

Nissan Armada LE 4X4
So far this has been an outstanding vehicle. My wife and I chose it to replace our Ford Expedition and have not been disappointed. The only thing you have to realize is that performance (7.0 sec. 0-60 mph acceleration and a 9,000 lb. towing capacity with the 4X4) comes at a price, in this case fuel economy. Do not expect to actually achieve greater than 11-12 in town. Haven't sone an extended trip on the highway so I can't comment on the highway fuel economy, but realize this is one of the few full-size SUVs built that offers a five-speed automatic vs. the standard four.
The new ride
I love my new armada! I do not have any complaints other than the fuel economy! Everything else about it is wonderful. I compared it to the Toyota Sequoia and I am SOOOOOOO glad I made the decision to go with the nissan!
noisey sunroof
This a fun ride with plenty of power performs very well in interstate trafic . The sunroof is anouther story, It sounds like you have a window cracked open. we took it back and had a wind deflector installed a the dealer an it helped a very little. If i was going to buy anouther Amarda LE 4+4. I would not get it with a sunroof.the climate control doesent seem to work right either, and the mirrors hav blind spots this could han been easly fixed at the plant, the trucks have the right mirrors.
