2004 in Firemist Red is the way to go…..
I have had the car for three years and it has about 104,000 miles on it. I’m the fifth owner and paid 10 percent of the original sale price (I found the original window sticker in the owners manual). I have experienced the same issues with the Active Body Control suspension as well and decided to delete it in favor of coilovers, the system had not been maintained and it would have cost more then what I paid for the car to correct it plus it is very unreliable. This is not a daily driver so the drain on the “convenience battery” is taken care of with a trickle battery charger. I will say that for a 19 year old car, I get compliments every time I drive it. Everything works on the car, it rides great, 302hp with a very smooth 7 speed transmission and surprisingly comfortable for a 6’2” guy like myself, it’s even easier to get into the car with the top up then my friend’s 2003 Corvette. I will add, do due diligence before buying one, I did not and I had a sick feeling for awhile because of the ABC suspension (the entire front end of the car sat on the ground for a month), also have a trusty mechanic if you do not like working on cars, MB dealership was helpful but expensive for a simple fuse issue the one snd only time that I have had the car in the shop, I now watch a lot of YouTube about working on the car (I.e. I installed the coilovers with my brothers help) Amazingly the navigation is still supported, for a price naturally, but I have opted to change the radio for a touch screen with sync for the phone. It is a beautiful car, over engineered, mechanically sound but understand you are maintaining a $95K+ luxury roadster that is going on 20 years old.

The Ultimate Car
This car has it all; performance of a supercar, beautiful in and out, luxury, hardtop and convertible. Drive it only in Manual Mode and the suspension and transmission rivals race cars yet it is so full of luxury and a convertible of hard top for winter or foul weather.

New to the fold
Great car. My first Mercedes and my first convertible. Great torque and handling. A real eye catcher. Have only had it for 2 weeks and have had multiple comments on its good looks.
They've Come A Long Way
This is my second SL in 7 years and boy have they changed. The car is absolutely gorgeous and has all of the key luxury items that one would want. Aside from the sports package add on I did no options. Still the features, comfort, and styling are overwhelming. It's an excellent and awesome car.
Get it
the only problem I have found is with the breaks that they have promissed they will fix and the navigation needs improvement. But at least it works; unlike BMW 745 with a great NAV that does not work 1/2 the time.
