Have owned a 2018 for a short time now and absolutely love it! Excellent power, agile and very good ride for a mid size SUV. This is the perfect car for a single person or couple to go tooling around in. If you are looking for a "family" vehicle I would look elsewhere. I did a great deal of research and comparison shopping and looked at Audi, BMW and Lexus. What sold me on this car is that it has, hands down, the best interior of any of them. The fit and finish are superb, the knobs and buttons feel like metal rather than cheap plastic and the interior oozes luxury. I am not a techno geek so all the negative customer complaints on the technology deficiencies of the vehicle meant very little to me. If you are like me and care more about ride, comfort, visibility and quality of the fit and finishes then you would be making a huge mistake if you did not take a look at this vehicle. One final note.......when I pay almost $50000 dollars for a vehicle, I want it to look like I spent $50000 on it and this was the only mid size SUV that did.

Issues - Crankcase ventilation failed

We bought the GLC-350e new. We got our first major breakdown at 14,000 km or 8700 miles, the crankcase ventilation failed, an extremely common issue with all GLC series Mercedes Benz, and other models too. The repair is $2000 for parts and labor. The part is a dealer item only. The repair takes 5 hours. The motor mount has to be removed to replace the crankcase ventilation. Again at 50,000km or 31068 miles, the crankcase ventilation has failed. These two major repairs were covered under warranty but should such a high-end vehicle fail so soon, so often, and be so expensive? What happens when the warranty runs out? You trade in the vehicle for a gold old Chevy to save yourself some money because it will happen over and over again, non-stop? This repair is not for most handymen. See this YouTube video of the part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIwxTKcuk6g I will not buy any Mercedes Benz ever again. I babied this SUV but still, it had major breakdowns.

2018 GLC 300

this is the first and last Mercedes I will purchase, and here is the reason why. between the MASSIVE depreciation 60% as of 3/21 and the idiotic idea to put the filter for the transmission on the Pan, so it would cost 650 dollars to change transmission oil... yup, stupid, lost customer

Interior Design Is Best In Class

Delivered new at the end of January 2018. Looked at all competitors in this size/class. Went with Mercedes Benz GLC 300 because of the interior quality/design and quality ride while not sports like is good. After 9K miles mostly highway, no issues with MB build to speak of. On the negative side, took one star off for tires. The run flat tires were not what I wanted and I did not have an option to go with non run flat tires. Have not had a flat in 20 years so went with the GLC 300. Well got a flat in Florida. Have to buy a new tire to replace a tire with no wear warranty. Yes there is no mileage warranty on the Pirelli run flat tires. The reviews indicate that I will be lucky to get 20K out of these tires. So because of the extra material on the sidewall to make the tire a run flat tire, they use soft rubber. The soft rubber may also be the reason for the flat. Less resistant to puncture. With a spare tire, you change the tire and your on the road again. With run flat tires you can drive 50 miles period. So if you are on the road, this could be a stay over in a hotel. Tire stores are not open 24/7 and they do not all sell Pirelli run flat tires. So Mercedes Benz gives you 50 miles with run flat tires, and saves a lot of money on a spare wheel/tire, jack, and lug wrench, and you may have to replace the tires at 20K costing you maybe $900 plus. Run Flat tires sound good until you get a flat.

Won’t Benz the truth

I have had 4 MB GLK or GLC models. Three leased, and just bought one. I bought a demo model with 2200 miles. Why? Because I got a good deal and Certified warranty, 4-years unlimited miles. If you buy, you’d be smart to buy it for cash. MB’s are pricey to start, why pay even more. If you can’t buy the car outright, then you can lease it. Also my experience at MB of Tampa Bay has always been super. The only negative I have are the Pirelli no-flat tires. You will be fortunate to get 20,000 miles. This viewpoint comes from my last lease GLC 300. Hopefully Pirelli upped their tread wear game in three years with my new tires. (UPDATE April 10,2020. My 2018 GLC is still performing nicely. Still not a fan of the no-flat tires. If a nail breeches my tire with only a minimal amount of tread wear, I’d be very unhappy. Pirelli and Mercedes need to have a standard warranty up to a certain amount of miles.)
