We are all raving about the new E320/500. Has any one of you ever looked into the trunk. Yes it is now as large as in a VW, but the spare tire...a donut on a black rimm, What is becoming of MB.And try to get the tire out, you have dismantle the whole trunk.Very disappointing will not buy unless I get a full size matching wheel.

Awesome vehicle! Mercedes definitely hit this one on the nose. Having a sedan with this much performance makes me question why I keep a Corvette in the garage.

The E500 is an exceptional automobile in that the ride is well controlled and yet it is not harsh by any means. It has ample power and the adaptive transmission is silky smooth. The style is not in your face so to speak, yet it is very tastefully executed.

By far the best vehicle I've ever owned. I traded in a 1999 E430 for this car, and she was certainly worth it. The acceleration of this velicle is unbelievable. My wife hates to ride with me, especially if we're merging unto the interstate (prime opportunity to to show off). I would only recommend this car to those whom a doctor has certified as healthy.

Since Dec 2002, I've had 5 visits to Mercedes service. Once for the B service, others for a noisy break pedal, After the B service, I took it back for a dead audio system, and two days after a Flash update, I took it in for an error in the audio system, and defective SOS system. This is my 3rd Mercedes since 1999 and if things don't improve, it will be my last.

Beautiful Car - Has Some Little "Issues"

I love my E320 - but it has been in the shop too many times for the same issues. First: the integrated telephone. Don't waste your money! I sound like I have my head in a bowl whenever I use it - and it took out my audio when they installed it. The dealership had the car for a total of approx. 6 wks to get it fixed. Recently brake light malfunction came on. Dealership tried to sell me brakes I didn't need. All that needed replaced was the sensor in the rear brake light. It took almost 2 weeks to get the sensor diagnosed and replaced. Other than that the car is fabulous. MB needs to get their service centers to solidly, accurately support their products.

this is a great wagon, which rides like a sedan. it is beautiful both inside and out. i dreaded ever having to get another suv,so this is my second mercedes e320 wagon. i loved the first one and so far this has surpassed my expectations. it is functional, gorgeous, and practical. the only negative might be that the brakes are little too sensitive to touch(or perhaps it's my lead foot).

The car has less than 2000 miles on it and has been in the shop TWICE already. The first time, they replaced a sensor to correct an idle problem. Within 48 hours, the "check engine" light came on and it went back to the shop. This time they kept it overnite, replaced another sensor and now I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

This $50K car has spent too much time at the dealership for minor repairs. I feel high tech has gone too far with this vehicle. For example, rain sensor windshield wipers, automatic seat adjustment, these two things have never worked and dealer has not been able to fix. Oil level too high, this keeps appearing as a malfunction on computer screen. Gas cap has to be frequently repaired. Winshield wipers make awful scraping noise even when wet, dealer also unable to fix. Very dissapointing auto

The first 4 months I owned this vehicle was nothing but problems. Came home one night and the trunk had magically opened. The interior lights were flashing on and off, controls would not work. Dealer had it off and on for two weeks. Door lock is set to open only driver's side door. Sometimes it unlocks the one door - other times it unlocks all four. Tilt wheel sometimes works - sometimes doesn't. I have had it 7 months now. Appears the problems have been fixed. Waiting for something else to happen...

As far as the the overall style it's sporty & youthful yet luxuriest & sophisticated all in one awesome package. As for the price it's hefty but damm I'm HAPPY. NO regrets.

I only have the car for three weeks and love every moment I'm in it!. The interior is super! Very comfortable seats for long trips, and the optional stereo system is A+. Did not experience any mechanical problems yet, and hoping not to for a while, since the built quality of this car is phenomenal. After my previous Lexus GS400, the E500 handling is like driving a Formula 1 car (especially in sports mode). Dont't get me wrong, the Lexus was one fine auto with a good heart, but this M-B is far superior!

I own a E500 and it is not worth 60,000 dollars. The inside is cheap looking the braking it elctronic, the engine sounds like a civic and its handling is not the best. It is a nice looking car but I would not reccommend it. I have driven the 2003 540i 6-speed and man is that a nice car, its simple, fast, fun and with the new body work its still up there with the E in looks.

We bought this vehicle about 2 years ago as certified used from dealership. We have been taking it in for repairs about 3-4 times a year. Head lamps have gone out a few times each. The radio quit working a few months ago-replacement costs $1,200. Warning lights go on about once a month for coolant level, brakes, lamps, etc. once every few months. The transmission is very jerky at low speeds. Interior trim pieces and outer roof strip are coming off. The engine/transmission noise while driving is loud and harsh. Interior truck lock assembly is falling apart.

I have owned most high end sedans and 2 other E Class automobiles. This is a totally different experience than any of the others. It has the size and comfort of the Lexus LS 430, the style of a staring value of my 911 and that tried and true Mercedes quality. If you drive an E 500- you will have to have one.

I "upgraded" from E320 circa 2000 to the same model circa 2003. What a difference! The car is completely re-designed, everything is better - from seats that now include storage cmpartment in the front to trung that is twice as large. The car is much closer to S-class, it is larger and roomier than previous model. Overall - much better car.

Best damn Mercedes-Benz ever. Have owned five MB's...this one..positively the best in series. Handling: superb, moving to a five link rear suspension. Comfort: not as nice as the Nappa Leather in the S class, but very supple. Sytle: exotic...how the lines overshadow the headlamps...sinuously gliding up the hood..simply amazing

In terms of performance, the car is very enjoyable to drive. It's handling is excellent, and the seat comfort cannot be beat. The interior dashboard and controls are far more appealing than the S class, Lexus, and Infinity. Only BMW and Audi come close. I hope its reliability is as good as my first impression.

Bought a 2003 E320 in October. Loved it at first. Since then it's been in the shop 4 times. Three audio system failures, central gateway controller failures (kinda scary in a brake-by- wire car), thermometer and an apparent engineering glitch in the way the door locks in the driver's side door is built. It sticks and won't open sometimes. Mercedes corporate hasn't even bothered to contact us and express their concern. Don't but this car.

Only problems I have had have been with the seat memory and a little static on the stereo. Millage is good on the highway at 28.9 mpg.

the car's interior and exterior are very stylish and impressive. the car rides smoothly and feels heavy on the road. it's definitely an eye turner with the new re-design. however, it lacks the over quality of mercedes due to many of the "electronic sensing" functions in the car. the brakes are the biggest disappointment along with the lack of acceleration when turning the car and depressing the accelerator at speeds of around 30mph

The new E320 is a well built luxury sedan. It's smooth gliding ride and tight, responsive handling are top notch. The car feels glued to the road at all speeds and has no problem pulling it's weight and then bringing it to a stop. A true German Luxury Sport Sedan. There has been an annoying noise / vibration coming from the front during starting and stopping. Sounds like a break rub or something.

Bought this new 2003 E320 sedan for my wife. I wanted a safe reliable and nice car for her to drive. The car falls nothing short of spectacular. We love the style both in and out and the car comes with more features you could even use. We only have had this car for a month now so can't really judge realiablity now. Ride is great, handling is excellent (we didn't want a sprots car). Handles better than any high end american auto sedan and we have had a Caddy, Lincoln in the past. I currently own a 2003 540 BMW and the MB is nicer all around.

This is my third Mercedes E320. I had an '86, '97, and now this '03. The car is as excellent as it has always been. My only complaint is the size of the interior. I find that this model is a lot smaller inside than the previous models, and so is the trunk, even if Mercedes claims it is not. Apart from that, it is strong, sturdy, reliable, and as good as always. It's just a wonderful car to drive and have.
