Silver and Red Beauty

I’ve had this car for over a year. I had to order the car to get silver with a red interior and top with the driver assist package. It’s a very comfortable car. I took a 4K mile road trip as soon as it arrived. On the road it got 32 to 33 mpg. The ride is smooth and the acceleration is good. The driver assist package has some nice features. I got it mainly for adaptive cruise control. Mercedes makes it hard to get and expensive - driver assist requires the navigation package. There have been no mechanical issues in the past year. One complaint is the trunk can only be opened with the key fob or a release inside the car. Another is the ventilated seats are not cooled. They only blow air through the seats that is the same temperature as the air in the car making it a useless feature on a warm day with the top down. Overall I am pleased with this car and plan to drive it many years. I've had the car just over 2 years. There has only been one problem beyond regular maintenance. When putting the top down the cover that closes over the top was not going all the down. The local dealer lubricated the parts associated with lowering the top. That fixed the problem. It has worked perfectly since. Insurance is expensive. Before buying the car I had read that was the case with the C class. It cost more to insure this car than the two cars we had before this one (228i convertible and Golf R). After two years I am still happy with the car and will continue to drive it for many years. Edmunds is asking for an update at 2 years and 9 months. The starter battery had to be replaced. We don't put a lot of miles on the car. Mercedes told us we should drive more. The problem with the cover over the top closing completely came back. This time Mercedes replaced various cables in the top and the top liner. It has worked well since. Both the battery and top repair were under warranty. After almost 3 years I still enjoy driving this car. Edmunds is asking for an update at almost 4 years of owning this car. There have been no problems during the last year. I am still very satisfied with the car. It's been 5 years and Edmunds is asking to update my review. I've had no problems with the car since the last review. It's a low mileage car at 29K miles so far. I am satisfied with the car. After 5 years I usually want something different but I don't feel that way about this car. I will keep it for several more years. It is still beautiful in silver and red.

This is my second c300 and I love this car. It’s not to big but has plenty of room for adults in the back seat. It has great, luxurious options, great acceleration, plenty of space and love that the back seats fold down when you need extra room

Best of both worlds

I did some pretty extensive research in this class, including the 330i xdrive and A4. After taking each of them on extensive test drives, I decided on the C300 4MATIC with the AMG line. I was very close to taking a great deal on the 3 Series, but in my heart I knew I liked the Mercedes more. It's much smoother, better built, and has better technology. I felt like the 330i's ride was a little too busy for me. It always begged me to drive fast, which may have been great in my 20s, but now I'm "more mature" haha. The C300 gives me the luxury all the time and the sportiness when I want it. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Test drove a 2021 BMW 330i RWD & the 2021 MB C300 RWD and immediately noticed the sport Vs luxury focus (BMW was sport oriented & the MB was more luxury oriented). Being that we desired a smoother ride & a quiet interior, we went with the MB C300 and are happy with the decision. It’s not the fastest small luxury sedan out there and for me that’s ok. The quality is top-notch. The doors close solidly and plastic components on the door panels do not rattle. The aluminum trim on the Burmester speaker grilles feels great to the touch. While the small finger-tip sized touch pads on the steering wheel feel a bit cheap, they do respond quickly to inputs so navigating gauge cluster menus or infotainment screen choices is quick and easy. I wish MB offered the infotainment screen with both controller + touch-screen (as did the BMW), but the controller wheel (or steering wheel touch pads) work fine. Fuel economy so far (18k miles) is averaging around 26mpg for combined city/highway. With a large fuel tank the range is most excellent. Super pleased and really like the quality & quiet interior, great sound system and the fuel economy. The factory Continental tires are wearing normally but are loud - it’s the only noise we hear on the highway (no wind noise).

Dash Goes Blank after 5000 miles

Disappointed Buyer in St Pete, 02/16/2023
2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 300 2dr Coupe (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 9A)

I am so disappointed this was my 4th Mercedes Benz. I waited 9 months for my custom made Benz C300 Cabriolet and after only 5000 miles the dash computers went blank and made the car underivable. I have been without my car for 8 weeks now. They were going to reprogram the computers but after 3 weeks they told me they had to order a whole new dash. They say the dash was shipped 1/26/23 but there is not tracking number, very suspicious. It took 3 weeks for Hona, Executive Referral Manager to finally reach me by phone and now they say if I want to declare it a lemon I may want to seek legal council; which I may do in order to get all my money back and damages. Oh by the way, and I’m still paying $1200/mo for a car I can’t drive. They say it’s the Chinese Chip maker and they had one plant in Germany that had major problems. I am thinking I need to buy a used car, pre-Covid. Wish I had someone on my side to help me here. The customer service at the dealership is good but they don’t know anything about when the parts will be here. And the followup with the delivery is every two weeks.

So far it looks like maybe we got a lemon. Like the performance and handling. But after just 7 months and 3,000 miles; one of the Mercedes Original tires went flat, and an electrical problem with the gear shift lever. Could not take the car out of the park mode. 2 trips back to the dealer already.

DO NOT BUY…Worse car I’ve ever bought

At 4,000 miles it left me stranded. The car locked up, shut down and all the lights came on. They had to come get it on a flat bed and after 3 days told me pretty much the mother board died and they had to reset and program stuff. I get the car back and between 5000 and 9000 bought the car back several times because the center pad kept blacking out, car seats would stop working and I would have to turn car off and on at a traffic light or when I park for them to start moving again. I’ve had to have them fix that issue 3 times already. Then at 10k miles my fuel pump broke and car stranded me again. They replaced the fuel pump and gave me a car back that sounds like a diesel truck now. The car slightly trembles persistently now when parked or sitting at a light. Then before 11k miles the charging station stopped working and it had to be replaced. Between 10k and 14k miles I’ve taken it back because of how this car was left sounding and I started having problems with my sunroof opening. I’ve provided these guys videos of the issues and today I picked it up for the 6th time and they tell me again there’s nothing major wrong with the car and that these cars sound like this and they couldn’t replicate any of the issues; despise seeing the videos I’ve sent them. They insist that I just never heard it before like that and that I just simply started noticing after the fuel pump replacement. They had my car for SEVEN days this time and when I get in the car I notice my mileage was the same as when I dropped off. I go back and speak to the Director of the service department who insists they had no need the test drive the car to replicate any of the issues I have when driving. I now just retained a lemon law attorney who immediately took the case. DO NOT BUY THESE CARS,

We purchased our 2022 C300 in August 2022 (with 9 miles) with all the new bells and whistles, big center screen, lights throughout, 360 cameras, and so on. Everything. First long drive was going to be to California, Thanksgiving. Woke up at 0500 went to get 91 octane gas. Car would not turn on.... Blacked out. Called a tow, stuck for an hour. Dealer closed, so had to wait until following week. They "updated" the computer. Wife was driving and got warning lights on, sensor failures. Took car in and they cleared the warning light and found no issues. Car now had a hiccup at idle every 5 seconds. Took it in, they checked piston pressure, fuel injectors, computer told us it was "bad gas". They filled it with "good gas." Took car home, next week "warning" vehicle in an accident light, parking sensor failures and other warning light in red on dash. Took car in, asked us "what gas did we put in it?" We didn't put gas, it's still full of thier "good gas." Kept the car again and now told us they "updated the computer again." Can't drive the car without worrying its going to leave us. Worst new car purchase ever.

I had a 2022 C300 RWD in LA as a Turo rental for a one-week trip, and put a lot of miles on it, both city and highway. I'll start with the positives: -Incredibly fuel efficient for the size and power -Ultra smooth start/stop - was truly seamless and not at all annoying like those systems can be -Interior and exterior styling was attractive -Ride was smooth over small bumps, smothering them Mixed: -Handling was just ok - the steering felt kind of lethargic and it didn't feel like it would like to be hustled around corners...it was capable, but didn't feel willing -While the interior looked nice at first, upon interacting with more items (turn signal stalks, transmission lever and some plastics lower on the dash), you could feel cost-cutting The bad: -The infotainment, while at first looking cool with such a large screen, was unintuitive and a pain to use. The touchscreen climate control was also annoying. When shifting into drive after reversing out, the rear camera would continue for another minute (maybe there was a fix in the settings, but again, unintuitive and overly complex). -Ride was surprisingly harsh over larger, sharper bumps. This car had stock 18" wheels, and my passengers and I were surprised at the sound and harshness over LA's admittedly bad road surfaces. I'm not sure if the tires were runflats, but if they were, that's the first thing I'd change -For a luxury car with only 8k miles, there were more squeaks and rattles than I expected. -Lacked some features standard on a Corolla - specifically radar cruise control (or Distronic in MB terms) -Just didn't feel as special as I expected

Great car with a lot of flaws and issues

I bought a brand new C300 2021 in July 2021. Due to the shortage, I purchased the car while it was in transit. But it came with a lot of problems; According to the service people, the left-side computer was totally disconnected, plus the chrome trim at the back was not assembled properly. The MB service told me it's not covered by the warranty and that it's a $700 job. Long story short, I love the car but it's been a negative experience and big disappointment with Mercedes Benz. The conclusion I make after the experience seems to be that buyers should take an expert/mechanic to inspect the car accurately before buying. Otherwise, they might buy a flawed car for which Mercedes will not take responsibility after it's sold if it's not included in the warranty. Lesson learned; next time, if I choose to buy a Mercedes, I'll bring my mechanic.

Luxury that kicks up dust

2021 AMG C43 Coupe, Silver/red interior with Night package Performance is outstanding! Handles tight around corners and it is so smooth you don’t feel you are zipping along at 75 mph. The first time I test drove it I felt like I slid into the seat like butter. The finery of interior materials is exceptional and the controls are advanced technically. A sedan that makes me feel at 50 like a soon-to-be retiree with the luxury and a guilty pleasured teenager occasionally stepping on the gas for people to eat my dust! Simply, impeccable!

"Best" Mercedes to own

ASnow, 10/26/2022

Would I recommend this vehicle, no. I was told that this was the "best" vehicle to own in the Mercedes-Benz line up and that has definitely failed to be accurate. After about 8 months of owning the vehicle, I stated to have engine turn over issues. I would click the start/stop button and it would sometimes turn over and sometimes fail to do so. I was told that by service advisors and the service manager that nothing could be done if it did not happen in the dealership service center or in front of them. Although I had video footage of what the vehicle was doing. At one point while making a left hand turn on a flashing yellow, the accelerator failed mid turn, causing me to almost cause an accident while making the turn in front of an on coming vehicle at 5 mph. Pedestrians thought that I was doing it on purpose. I pulled over, turned the vehicle off and then back on. The accelerator worked fine after that. I took it back in and was told that there was no recalls or complaints, so they could not do anything about it. On 10/20/2022, I was driving down the freeway, when I went to accelerate and at that moment the vehicle began to stutter/shake uncontrollably. After that, any time the accelerator was pressed it would shutter/shake. My vehicle was towed to a dealership. Come to find out, cylinder one was coding. They found out that the fuel injector was stuck open. According to the service advisor, that issue was causing a misfire. I was told that they replaced the fuel injector and the spark plug. According to the vehicle report I was given, 1 reman injector, 4 TS spring F In, 1 spark plug, and there was a core return (not sure what that means).

Second time my car had to be towed

I researched this car for 7 months before I bought it and even though it is a whole new redesign and infotainment system I though to myself that maintaining a car like this one would be easy. Today is the second time this car had to be towed to a Mercedes Benz dealership within a 2 month period. I've driven the car to a destination, then returning back to the car the infotainment systems would turn on and every possible hazard lights would pop up on the dashboard and the car would not turn on. The SOS system would be deactivated, brakes, and any possible service features. The lights were one but noone was home as I"ve called this problems but no matter what i did the engine would never turn on. First time dealership said it needed a system update, now I'm waiting to see what the issue is this time. Ive researched other people testimonials and haven't found anyone else with this issues so Im not sure if its just my specific car, all I know that this is making me doubt if i should continue to hold on to this car.

I waited a couple of months to get it due to the transportation difficulties but I did get what I wanted. To put it simply I can, the car is very advanced, and will take some time to learn all of its intricacies. Beyond the learning curve, I find it a pleasure to drive, knowing it's a very safe car with all of its safety features. Mind you, the extra features do add up quickly but at least to me, well worth it. What can I say, it's a very nice car, I'm happy with it, and if you're in the market for a compact luxury car, don't deny yourself a test drive.

A letdown from the W204

I currently own a 2014 C300 4Matic, and it has been a fantastic car in almost every way. Last week I was given a 2021 loaner from the dealer while some maintenance was done on my car, and I have to say, it was a very mixed bag. I really, really hate the turbo 4 engine - it's noisy and seems gutless; I think they overly rely on the transmission to keep the driver in a reasonable power band, but the transmission seems to be over-thinking its mission, sometimes hanging onto revs way too long and clunking down gears without grace. The interior is, of course, very nice, and it all has a very Mercedes-like feeling until you start driving. I think it would be much easier to score this car higher if the price was more reasonable, though there is a lot of tech in the car. Ultimately, a 4 banger is a 4 banger, no matter how nice the packaging. My advice to used car shoppers: look long and hard at the 2012-2014 V6 C300 before you buy one of these. There are a lot of them around and they are built like tanks.

This car feels as if you drive an army truck. The confort mode of the c43 sedan is the same at sport, the suspension is so stiff, beware. Not a car you want if you spend your days on the road

I've owned my brand-new C-Class for 10 months. During that time little annoying issues forced me to return to the dealer...rattles in the dash, squeaky seats, seatbelt not retracting, fingerprint identification not recognizing/responding. I expected more from a brand-new $52K Benz. Also, I never received a courtesy call from Mercedes at any time to confirm my satisfaction. I decided to trade it in on a Lexus and could not be happier...overall a better vehicle. And the salesman called and texted me to see if I were pleased or if I had any problems. Hmmm, a luxury car company that makes you feel special. What a concept.

Coarse engine and harsh AMG suspension

The car is gorgeous. I got it for my wife and she loves its looks over the BMW 3 series and Audi A4 which she thought looked too plain and masculine. It has a striking and sporty exterior, especially with the black roof and trim paired with white color. The tan interior is light and airy and classy. Wired CarPlay is meh but I can live with it. But my wife isn’t a car person and only had an old Honda before.. The C300 drivetrain and suspension are incredibly unrefined. The coarse 4 cylinder engine sounds like pebbles and sand in a cement mixer. The AMG suspension crashes on any road imperfection and makes the car feel like it’s going to shake apart and break. My wife drives it so slowly in it because she thinks she’s going to damage her lovely car driving on lousy LA streets with the suspension crashing on ruts and potholes. Unless you’re on a glass smooth road with the music playing loudly, this car is a terrible driving experience.

The electronics are not user friendly with so many duplicated controls and a manual which is almost incomprehensible. Trying to use and setup the navigation quite beyond me. For instance when selecting destination on all my other navigation programs the first thing that pops up is Home but not on this over complicated thing the Home button is hidden several pages away. The car is generally over complicated with German over complicated controls not user friendly.

There is too much plastic in this car. The interior was peeling off after a while. I am very disappointed and unhappy with this car. Before buying it, I read so many negative comments about it but I did not pay attention and now I realized that others were right about this car. Very unreliable piece of plastic.

I've had the MB since 2021 and I'm still happy with my purchase. The car has nice safety features, good handling, and gets alot of compliments from other drivers... after driving the car for 3 years with no issues. There was a battery problem. But i got it fixed for free under my warranty. and its been good. I def would recommend this vehicle if your looking. I just wish you didnt have to pay to use the Mercedes me app.

I enjoy my vehicle . It’s smaller (interior) (height) than previous autos owned but very nice. Gas mileage is median Maintenance I find expensive. Love all the “bells and whistles”

We bought our vehicle Certified Pre Owned. We had never purchased a used car before but this one looked brand new and was loaded with everything and more ! It was only a year old and had been purchased new at the same dealership where we bought it. I love the marina blue top on the white sport package body! You cannot go wrong with a Mercedes-Benz C-Class. However, next year they plan to merge the C-Class and E-Class cabriolets to only sell 1 convertible model. We bought now because we did not want that bigger engine or price tag.

Purchased a CPO C300 4-Matic with AMG Line package. I love everything about it except the transmission. Why have a "Sport Plus" mode if you don't have transmission tuning to go along with it? It should hold the gears longer especially in manual mode using the paddle shifters. It's a shame because the handling is noteworthy and will certainly reward when you want to play. Otherwise the performance of the transmission is smooth and efficient when driving normally. In mixed driving MPG's are around 36. Highest was 39 and lowest has been 28. Purchased the car with 12k miles. I now have 17k and no issues thus far.
