Fun X 3
I owned a 1976 MGB. I always wanted an inexpensive sports car but this one was absolutely unreliable. Every time I drove it, I would make a list of things to be fixed. I had owned Japanese compact cars and thought if they would build a sports car I would buy it. Then Mazda did just that. As soon as I saw a 3" x 5" picture of a Miata, I went to the dealer and put down a deposit and agreed to pay list price. It was everything I wanted in a sports car. My only complaint was that it was useless on snow and ice. I solved that problem by storing it in winter. If you want a reasonably priced, fun, sporty, reliable and impractical car, this is it.

Really Old MX5
Bought it very well used, spent a lot rebuilding it. Had 145,000 miles and little maintenance had been done Have put about 25K miles on it since. Still less than price of a new car, 30 plus MPG isn't bad. Hope to drive it a few more years, but who knows. This is a really nice little car. Someone got it right when they built this one.

Great Fun
This is one of the most enjoyable cars I have ever driven. It corners easily at high speed and sounds great. Even at 109,000 miles, it still runs strong.
Whoooooooaaaaa!
This car is SHOCKINGLY fun to drive. The best way to describe it is, remember how fun it was to drive a car when you first got your license? Remember the butterflies you got in your stomach from the excitement of being behind the wheel? That's what you feel when driving this car hard and downshifting through tight corners... you begin to remember how much fun driving can be. Mine was built in '89 and has only 84k miles now... she's still a baby and should last for quite some time! Got the "B"-Package and I'm loving it. She still turns heads! Gettin' the turbo-charger soon... wooo hooooo!
Easily the most fun on four wheels!
Having gone through the difficult choice of selling my 2011 Camaro V6 to pay for school, the time came to choose something that was equally fun to drive, cheap to insure for a 22yo guy, and easy for me to work on. I had always loved the Miata, and I found my little gem; an early build 1990 model with only 78,000mi. I couldn't be happier, I have yet to tire of driving it, and living in Texas, I can have the top down almost every day, which is a great thing for me. Aside from replacing a few worn out parts, it has been faultlessly reliable, and easily the most grin inducing car out of the many I have owned or fixed up. A highly recommended purchase for those who can accommodate such a car!
Amazing little car
Bought my 90 miata in 96 for $10,500 CND sold it this year for $8,500 CND, you do the math. Amazingly reliable, more fun than what is legally allowed in Canada. The best car that I have ever owned. Engines are very strong and keep going going it porperly maintained.
Fun car
Most fun for the dollar of any used car I have seen.
new oldie
ugh I just bought my first Miata... its a 90 MX-5 white hard top convertable... i bought it with 98K on it... only had to fix the brakes... its great to make those old GF jealous and to meet new people... its a real head turner... exspecially in ny where you dont see too many of them
best buy of my life
I bought this car after wanting one for 4 years, and it was the best purchase of my life... even with the high mileage, the car looks and drives wonderfully, and i still have yet to go past 6000 rpm...
No. 4 - 9 years away from Collector status
This is my 3rd, a classic red 01 1990. My first was identical right down to the month but had no power steering or mags. Did have the hardtop however. Purchased it for $10,500 in 96 and sold it for $10250 in 2001! A hip replacement forced me into a more comfortable car. Imported a fully loaded 97 but sold it soon after. My partner purchased a 2001 a month ago and after a 3000 km trip with the top down through our Coastal and Rocky Mts returned and tracked down a project car. Needs a new front seal and a paint job. Returned to the original edition because of price and cabin room. Loving it and will improve its appearance as time and money permits. Great to be driving a future classic.
'90 Miata Original Owner
Purchased "off the truck" in July '89 during "miata mania". Car has been rock-solid year in and out with no problems until approx. 80,000 miles when engine computer fritzed followed by coil-packs and crank sensor; otherwise, most reliable car ever owned. Engine uses no oil, revs to redline; tranny is crisp; original clutch. Have considered selling but I can't. Great sports car!
Nothing Like It!
A pure pleasure in every sense of the word. I never get tired of driving this testimony to the roadster. The perfect balance of power to weight and it handles like a cat. 145k care free fun miles. What more could you ask for? I am going to purchase a 1999 aniversary addition. I hope they didn't mess with a good thing.
Just Bought One
Great car. I found one in excellent condition at the beginning of the summer and it has been nothing short of incredible. Very sturdy and reliable. Easily the most fun car I've ever owned.
Great classic car to commute in the summer.
There are many of these 26 year old classics on the market. You will not be disappointed . Priced under $4000 it can't be beat. Not alot of true sports cars left that are affordable, this one is. Parts are still available and reasonable for this car. The resale value seems to be climbing as it will be harder to find as the years go on. Now 30 years old and runs like new.

Great Mazda MX5
I have been driving and maintaining this car for 19 years. Paint job, custom wheels, new upholstery, removable hard top, recently replaced soft top and windshield. Always garaged when not in use. Low mileage compared to averages.

Becoming one with the road
My parents bought a nice silver model. A 1990 and has less than 60K miles on it as of 2020! They decided to give it to me and couldn’t be happier. When you need an escape from reality and just connect with this road hugger.

Sunday Funster
I've had my '90 for 6 years now, and still have a grin from ear to ear when I drive it. My only caveat is when you have the top up at night every shake and rattle is amplified. Use it when you can put the top down, and it becomes your best little playmate!

Best darn sports car out there
My 1990 has just many add on's like super charger and exhaust system by Jackson Racing (Moss Motors), Flyin' Miata F1 suspension roll bar, cruise control, hard top, 15" wheels with Toyo T1R tires, lots of chrome and polished aluminum under the hood, shark teeth in the grille opening, tow bar setup to take the car on vacation, upgraded stereo, speakers and headres speakers, wood steering wheel and so on. Regular maintenance form a good shop, synthetic fluids and regular polishing will make your shine like mine.

Miata classic
Get one with a good convertible top. They are pricey. Make sure all the basics are still good and working like mine are.
